Full On

Whoa…. What a shock to the system! A week at school & me & Alfie are wrecked. On Wednesday, I found that I’d drifted off to sleep & only woke up when Dad shouted up that tea was ready – what a lightweight.

Maybe it had something to do with the weather as well. I don’t think we’ve seen the Sun this year yet. It’s been Grey, raining & yuk every day. One morning it seemed like it was still dark when we waited for the bus to school. At least we haven’t been flooded like all those people – in Scotland this time, what a nightmare.

Talking about the rain, on Thursday it was crazy, it started before 8 in the morning (we know cos we got wet getting to the bus stop), and didn’t finish until the evening, and it poured & poured. The road that we usually go on to get to my friends Hannah & Rachel was flooded & closed. Luckily we were in the bus so we could bash our way through the puddles, which were massive – bet Dad loved ‘hunting puddles’ in his car.

Sadly, that did mean that our game against Shrublands was called off, as their pitch was nearly underwater. Amazingly, Alfie’s game did go ahead away to East Harling (miles away!). It was a nice Sunday afternoon, but once again they lost, but not too badly 6-1. Alfie played well & set up their goal & made some good tackles (even giving away some free kicks – hacker!)

He’s has been getting frantic, every day, over a parcel that he’s expecting – and the contents…… a pair of trainers that ‘he just had to have’. I have to say, he’s used some of his Christmas money to buy them, so at least that part is sensible. Every day it’s has the postman been…. has the postman been – followed by disappointment, shame – he’ll just have to wait (as they are coming from Germany for some reason).

Anyway, enough about him, what about me? Another week helping out at the ski club & I’m really enjoying it (more than I thought / expected). Who knows, maybe I’ll become a ski instructor, just like Mum. Dad is talking about entering a team into the people’s FA cup, with the chance of playing a Wembley – unlikely, but you’ve ‘got to be in it to win it’. Talking about that – we entered the Lottery on Saturday, hoping for a share of the £50 million jackpot, but we didn’t even get enough numbers for even £10!

Oh, of course – we hope Grandma gets better soon. She’s not been feeling too well & had to go into hospital for a couple of days – maybe just to have a rest from Grumps! She’s back home now, so hopefully we can get together soon, and have a very late Christmas (as we’ve still got their presents here for them).

Right, that’ll have to do. We’ve both got revision to do, and I can already feel my eyelids getting heavy. Until next time.

03/01/2016

Hi 2016

Out with one, in with two (Dogs that is). Monday was a crazy day, getting all Tilly’s stuff sorted out & the house tidied up, just before the next invasion. This time it was our old friend crazy Maisy, and her new pal Garthy – who is a Norfolk Terrier. He’s far more yappy, than Maisy which our Cats clearly loved to bits (not).

Good to see Robert & Rowan, who had a good Christmas, and thankfully hadn’t been effected by all the rain that had been falling over that side of the country – really terrible to see people’s home completely ruined, just before Christmas, what a nightmare.

Just like last week with Tilly, we continued to be Dog walking slaves – out in all weathers. This was so true on Wednesday when we went to Southwold to meet up with Nanna & Grandad. They had a nice time on their Scottish coach holiday, but had brought the weather back with them. It was blowing a gale, but we were still out walking the Dogs on the beach, and getting our faces sand-blasted, lovely. At least our pub lunch was a welcome treat – some delicious fish & chips in the warm!

We didn’t see much of Dad as he was at work, until New Years Eve, when it was another crazy day. Robert & Rowan were going back home, and I’d been invited over to stay at Rachel’s. Just time for one last Dog walk, followed by a giant fry-up for brunch, and the house was suddenly quiet again, without the clicking of claws on wood floor, or the growling / yapping from Garthy. Slowly, very slowly, our Cats reappeared & ventured back into part of the house they hadn’t visited in over a week – sniffing every step of the way.

I then went to Rachel’s and left those party animals to it! Turns out (not surprisingly) they all went to bed by 11pm, and didn’t even bother to watch the London fireworks – boring. Me & Rachel stayed up til 4am, mainly reading books that we’d got for Christmas (honestly).

That did mean that when Mum & Dad came to pick me up in the early afternoon on New Years Day, I’d only been awake a couple of hours, whereas Mum & Dad had been on a six mile walk (without Alfie, who had too much online gaming to play).

So, that was another year gone, faster than the last, despite us cramming so much into it. Let’s hope we have another fun packed year in 2016.

We were hoping to see Grandma & Grumps on Sunday, but Grandma wasn’t well, so we’ll have to catch up with them another weekend, real soon.

Now we’ve got the nasty job of finding our school uniforms again, and getting ready to wake up in the dark, which clearly hasn’t been happening these past couple of weeks. We hope everyone had a great Christmas & New Year and that 2016 is fab year.

Merry Christmas Everyone
Ho, ho, ho... Merry Christmas everyone. We hope you all had a great time, and if you had been good (at some point in the year) then Santa was kind & generous, and brought you what you were hoping for.

We had an 'interesting' time the days before Christmas, as we were looking after Nanna & Grandad's Dog - Tilly. As you can guess, our poor Cat's were not impressed - they disappeared for days at a time, and are definitely looking a bit thinner, so they've obviously not been sneaking in for their food that often - poor things! - joy!

It did mean that we had to be proper Dog owners for the week, taking Tilly out for walks, keeping the Dogs & Cats apart. At first it's a nice change, our round the village, and not raining too much - bonus. Not sure we could do this every day, especially when we're at school, so maybe we'll stick with Cat's, they're definitely more 'low maintenance'.

Anyway, we had lovely Christmas Day, just the four of us & four pets. We went our for a long walk with Tilly, which gave us a healthy appetite for our delicious Christmas Turkey Dinner - what a feast. By the time we'd finished stuffing our faces, we could barely walk, and just vegged out in front out of the TV.

Before all that, we'd waited patiently to open our presents, and wow, what incredibly lucky kids we were (again). Smellies, sweets, and loads of other stuff, even before we talk about our new phones - wow. Me & Mum both now hav e iPhone 6 phones, and they are amazing (but we would say that, wouldn't we). Even Alfie wasn't left out, he got a new iPhone 5s, as he'd got a new xBox game & some lovely aftershave, as he'd started to nick Dad's.

Boxing day was very similar, out for another walk with Tilly, this time a few miles around the local woods, then a relaxing afternoon & evening.

On Sunday, it was like GroundHog day, with another Dog walk - this time we took Annalise & Harvey along. We had to battle the most muddy conditions ever - luckily we all had our walking boots on, but even with these, some of us got very wet feet! Alfie lost one of his in a bog, and it had to be dragged out. This didn't stop Dad & Kerry making a fire with the storm kettle, and feeding us all with Pot Noodles & hot drinks - lovely. After about 5 miles we were filthy, and Tilly was completely splattered. Thankfully, Dad had made some delicious Turkey & Ham pies which we feasted on - bootiful.

So, a massive thank you to everyone for all our lovely presents, we know that we're really, really lucky. We've had a great Christmas & hope you all did too. Scary to think that this time next year I will (hopefully) be in the 6th Form - with all my GCSE exams done!

Nearly Christmas...
Finally…..no more school until next year, which can only mean one thing – ITS NEARLY CHRISTMAS!

The teachers finally seemed to ease up a bit in the last week, and it wasn’t so intense as normal – we could definitely get used to that!

We could also get used to going football training on the astro at GOALS, loads of fun again in our mixed teams with the ladies. Of course it rained again, but we didn’t really notice, as we were running around for nearly TWO hours. Alfie was on fine form – really fast & skilful. He scored a lovely curling shot into the corner of the goal to win his team one of the games.

That was my football finished for 2015, and I’d have to be honest & say that it’s been mixed. There were the highs in the build up to Sweden, and our first ever wins against Sprowston & Bradwell, but with the lows of the games in Sweden, and our recent defeats to Hellesdon & Sprowston (when we were winning in both games). I need to work on my control more, which will hopefully make me more confident (again).

Alfie still had one more game to play, against Cromer, who he’d never played against before. He started off playing in defence (to try & make them harder to score against), and it seemed to work. St Andrews started strongly & scored 3 quick goals, which surprised them as much as the opposite team! In the 2nd half he was put more forward & made a real difference. He set up a bunch of their goals, and was very unlucky not to score himself, hitting the post with another one of his curling shots. St Andrews went on to win 8-0, which will hopefully mean they’ll have a good 2nd half to their season.

Me and Mum just popped into Sainsbury’s for a ‘few bits & pieces’ before the main Christmas shop arrives next week, and somehow we managed to spend £90 – yikes! At least it meant that I could make some Gingerbread flavour cup cakes, and get myself a Xmas jumper / top.

So, just a few days til Christmas & even less till Tilly comes over to stay with us. Still really not sure how the Cats are going to cope – they’ll just run & hide I guess. Hoping they don’t actually get to see each other cos it could get ‘messy’. I’ve seen what Ralph does to Birds! Really, we’re just hoping for some dry weather so we don’t get soaked taking Tilly for a walk.

To everyone we know, near & far, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas. If you haven’t been good by now – it’s too late – you aint getting’ anythink!

Rain, Rain go Away...
We're getting proper sick of this rubbish weather, it just seems wet and dark - all the time. Maybe we are suffering from that lack of Sunlight thing - all we need is a little Winter sunshine - cold & Sunny, beats mild and Grey any day.

Unfortunately, the weather doesn't change the amount of work they keep giving us at school - it just never, ever stops. French, Geography & Science, Science, Science - my head hurts!

It would have meant that we'd miss football training AGAIN, except that instead of getting soaked on our soggy grass, we got soaked on an astro-turf pitch. We played 5-a-side with the Ladies, and it was loads of fun (and very tiring!). Alfie had a blast, running around everywhere, doing his tricks & skills - but not managing to score past Dad who was in goal.

He also made great discovery - all the episodes of this completely crazy Walking Dead series he's been watching, now available on our TV, thanks to Dad & some tinkering. So, we are seeing him a bit more downstairs, staring at a screen of Zombies - great!

What was also great, Christmas shopping. Dad kindly gave us some money to get presents for our friends, and we didn't need much time, or encouragement to hit the shops. We did well, getting loads of lovely stuff, that we know our friends will love - lucky them, lucky us.

What wasn't so lucky was the result of our Football game on Saturday. We lost 6-4, against Sprowston, but that isn't half the story. We were losing 2-0, when Bryony gave us a chance (2-1 at half time). We'd played very poorly, and we knew it, so no surprise that Dad told us exactly that. We then played brilliantly for 20 mins, and I scored to put us in the lead 4-3, just like I did earlier in the season. Sadly, we then made a couple of mistakes and ended up losing - we were gutted. We again showed what we can do & we just need a bit more concentration at times & we'll be a top side. Still fun to play, despite feeling really sick after 10 mins - need to get that looked at if it carries on, or just get fit (according to Dad) - thanks for the sympathy!

Sunday was soooooo boring - rain, rain, rain - homework, homework, homework - yawn. Still only 5 more days of school this year (which sounds good) - shame I've got a French speaking exam on Wed - Merry Christmas from Thorpe High.

Three Weeks to Go
We're munching our way through our advent calendar chocs - what a breakfast time treat for both of us!

Me & Mum had a fun time at the ski club on Tuesday night, choosing the music for the ladies to ski the course that we'd set out. So, they had the treat of listen to my choice of tunes for an hour or so - lucky them or what. I'm enjoying helping Mum, and it's going towards my GCSE PE exam, so all good.

I also did some refereeing of a school 5-a-side tournament, and really enjoyed putting the boys 'back in their place' - I can see why Beth likes doing it, and getting paid for it.

Otherwise, a pretty quiet week, that at least got more interesting over the weekend - despite neither of us having a football match. Luckily for Alfie, as his hair is getting very long (for him) at the front, and he has to keep moving it out of his eyes. Dad saw him at football training, and he reckon he was doing it every 20 seconds! I'd love to share a picture of him, but I promised not to (and he'd go proper mental if I did).

Alfie went to his friend Joe's for his birthday sleep over, and a trip to his favourite restaurant - Zaks, and a plate of BBQ ribs. I didn't go out, but my friend Hannah came over to stay, and we had one of my favourites - Lasagne. We should have gone to sleep at a sensible time, but Dad has kindly got Netflicks on the main TV, so we just ended up watching film, after film, and the next thing we realised, it was 3am - oops.

At least we had the morning to recover, by lying around doing nothing much. Then it was all systems go, go, go.... off to the Hollywood cinema to rehearse for our Bop Dance Company Christmas show. I had been practicing hard to catch up, I'd been skiing with Mum, rather than dancing. - would I regret it, in front of all those people?

No, or course not.... a dance pro like me! It went really well, we all remembered our steps & kept in time, almost perfectly. Even the lift went well, no one fell over & no-one got hurt (which wasn't always the case!). Mum, Dad & Alfie came along to watch & enjoyed it (or they said they did). We all had our traditional after-dance treat of KFC - finger lickin' good!

A Christmas Retail Raid
My eBay selling continues, another week & more sales - this time Dad's stuff & another £15. I could get used to this - cash in my pocket.

Mind you, I seem to take after Mum, as it doesn't seem to last long... one minute it's there, the next its gone. Not like Dad & Alfie who seem to go ages without hardly spending anything - very odd. Talking of odd, here is pic of Alfie & his new braces!

At least we didn't have to worry about buying Christmas presents for our friends, as Dad gave us some money & bravely came with us into the City. I think we did pretty well & got all our bits in only a couple of hours. I'm sure it would have been much longer if Mum was with us. I think that's the most organised we've ever been, mostly done before December!

Now we've just got to decide what we want. I could really do with a new phone, as it's 2 years old now, and that's ancient! Alfie wants some new xBox game - more death, stab, kill no doubt! Mum wants a new laptop or tablet, and first off wanted an Apple Laptop, until Dad told her they were £1000, so she quickly changed her mind.

The only other thing to mention is the latest instalment in our battle with Hellesdon Belles, who sadly still remain the only team we've never beaten. We gave them a right scare though, as we were leading 1-0 at half time and playing brilliantly. We should have been 2-0 up but somehow managed to miss, when it was easier to score. That seemed to change the game, and they threw everything at us, and eventually they equalised. Even worse, they scored a 2nd goal late on, and we came away with nothing - next time we'll get em!

We've got our advent calendar's ready, so the countdown to Christmas has almost begun - happy days.

Dental Duo
Brrrrrrrrrr, what a difference a week makes. It start out quite mild and Autumn like, and by the end there is hail, sleet & snow. Not enough for even one proper snowball, but the grass was properly white, even if it wasn't for long. Seeing as Dad said that Val Thorens had delayed opening for the ski season due to lack of snow, it looks like we had some of theirs! As long as there is still plenty at Easter, I don't care.

Talking of skiing, I'm going to the ski club for a few weeks to help Mum with her Ladies club, as part of my GCSE, so I'll have to be on my best behaviour - or else! I'm sure I'll have some tales to tell about just how Mum is as a teacher- keep reading to find out more in the weeks ahead.

My foot still hurt, but it has been getting slowly better - lucky we didn't have a game on Saturday, and that training was cancelled (as so many of us went into Norwich to see our favourite YouTubers, Jim Chapman & Tanya Burr, switch on the Christmas lights!). We are dedicated - honest, but that was too good an opportunity to miss. However, the good news is that I should be fit for the 'Big Match' next Saturday against Hellesdon - who are now the only team we've never beaten. I've just got a feeling.... that this could be our time, if we play our very best.

So to the dental part of the story - Alfie now has his very own set of braces, just like me (his are a different shade of Blue though). It's strange cos now his face & lips are pushed out more, I realise how it must have changed what I look like - but after 18 months with them in, I really can't remember my 'before braces look'. When he first came back from the dentist, he was more relieved tht it didn't really hurt having them put in, and that it was now just an ache feeling. Just he wait til they start rubbing, and he gets ulcers, that make even eating the softest food painful! class="lytebox"

Even though there wasn't much, the snow did mean that Alfie's Sunday morning game was cancelled. I think just to show some toughness, him and Dad went out in the afternoon to practice, and got rained & hailed on - that'll teach them!

The last thing to mention - Alfie finally finished his birthday celebrations with a trip with friends to the trampoline park, and then on to KFC, where they ate their own body weight in Chicken apparently. I say that as I wasn't there, I went to the cinema to watch the last part of the Hunger Games, and it was really good - a tough Girl in the lead role too - awesome!

It was particularly good (in a weird way), that I paid for myself, with money I'd actually earned. I've been selling Mum's stuff on eBay, and I get to keep half the money that we make. This first lot took me a bit of time to photograph & put online, but I earned £15, so I can't complain. Dad has now asked me to do some of his things, so I could have a little business thing going - who knows.

15/11/2015

Completely Crippled!
OOOOOWWWWWWW, my foot. I got another Football injury playing for the school in a national cup match against a school from Ipswich way. It wouldn't of been so bad if we'd won, but we lost on penalties. Incredibly, both Bryony & Beth from our Thorpe team missed theirs, otherwise we would have won - gutted for them. I had to watch all this with my foot in agony after it got stood on, or bent back - I'm not sure which it was, I just know it hurt big time!

That meant no dancing, and the rest of the week hobbling about - pretty pathetically if I'm honest. I was worried that it was proper broken or something as it still seemed as bad on Friday, I did mention it to Dad & he said that A&E wouldn't do anything, and I'd just have to be patient - all right for you to say, you're not in agony!

Sadly that did mean that I missed my first game of the season, and longer than that - can't remember the last one I didn't play in. Of course I went along to cheer the Girls along, against Bradwell. They were one of the teams that always used to beat us, but who we beat earlier in the season, so we knew we had a chance. The Girls were really up for it and played some great football. Abbie C was on fire & scored two great goals. We were 2-0 up at half time, and with a bit more composure with our finishing, it could (and should) have been 4 or 5.

The 2nd half was more of the same, chance after chance - wild shot, after wild shot. Then a great corner from Viv & Jess R was there to score. We then switched off a bit and let them score a soft goal, but finished with another load of chances & Bryony got a rare headed goal, from another great Viv corner. 4-1. Still top of the table, played 6, won 5 - pretty good. Next game is the one we really want to win..... Hellesdon. It's not for two weeks so hopefully my foot will be better by then.

Alfie's team were playing their top of the table team, Morley - thinking about how they'd been playing recently it could be a toughie. I went along (just for something to do), and was glad I did - more cos the ladies were playing & we got to see nearly half their game, a cup game against one of their rival Wymondham, which was really tough, as the wind was so strong - blowing everywhere.

In Alfie's game, the wind also made it difficult, and it wasn't helped as the two teams just seemed to be booting it everywhere. Alfie's goalie was excellent (again) and somehow it was 0-0 at half time. Sadly their luck didn't hold out, and they let in two quick goals, before getting one back (with a rare attack). The last 10 minutes were tense, as we thought they might be able to sneak a draw - instead, Morley got another late goal, and it finished 3-1. Some positives, but still too many softies in the team. They do really need to 'man-up' and realise its a contact sport. Dad wants to arrange a friendly game between us girls and them to 'kick them about a bit'.

That just left a bit of time for some Call of Duty action for Alfie & some homework for me - happy days indeed (not).

08/11/2015

Duty Calls
Uuuuuurggh, getting up sooooo early last week was horrible. It was still nearly dark when we were waiting for the school Bus in the morning, and again if we were getting the late one home. Lucky that we both kept on top of our homework when we were on holiday, as it just keeps on comin' another load for both of us this week - don't they know it's 7 weeks til Christmas - where is the spirit of the season!

Alfie cooked very tasty sweet & sour Chicken and rice at school, and very kindly brought some home for all of us to try (more generous than me!). I think he was getting in everyone's good books, as he was waiting for his new Xbox game to arrive - Call of Duty III. When it did, that was the last we saw of him..... for nearly 3 days. I might be slightly exaggerating, but it seemed that every waking moment he was in his room, online with his friends, shooting Zombies (or whatever else they were up against) - keeps him happy, and out of my way, so I suppose I should be thankful!

I had to go back to school one evening - no, not detention!, it was a 6th form evening, to give us an idea of the subjects we might want to consider doing at A Level. Lots of info, lots to think about, but no definite answers yet. PE teacher is still my aim, just gotta choose my subjects carefully - all sound like they'll be pretty hard work though, and you've gotta get good grades to get in - just cos I went to the High School, doesn't mean I'll get a place - tough eh!

On fireworks night we went football training as usual (and got a free display from the ones nearby). We also got totally soaked, and very muddy - but had a load of fun. The poor old grass is wrecked though (luckily it's not the bit we play on) - hopefully the groundsman doesn't tell us off, the next time we are there.

Finally, we had another game of football on Saturday - away in Gorleston. It was a game that we should win, but Dad made it clear that you've still got to play your best, and if you don't you'll get beaten - just like the non-league team did to the league II team the night before. Everything was going well, we were 3-0 in the lead, then we got lazy, and they scored two goals, so it was 3-2 at half time. We didn't need telling again, but Dad did it anyway, and we were much better 2nd half, scoring another 5 goals, finally winning 8-2. The game was spoiled thought, as there was an accidental clash of heads between Jade in their team & Vivian. Poor Jade came off worse, and suffered a broken Nose - ouch, while Vivian had a massive bump & bruise on her forehead. We all hope Jade makes a speedy recovery as she's a good player.

No game for Alfie on Sunday as it was Remembrance Day (remembering all those thousands of people that died in all the wars) - pretty scary stuff when you think about it. Not a video game that you get another go on - you die, you die for real! Enough gloom, we went over to see Nanna & Grandad and of course crazy Tilly. She was totally bonkers when we arrived -leaping everywhere, what is she going to be like at ours over Christmas (when she comes to stay for a few days), the Cats are going to love her. Thanks to Nanna for a lovely lunch, and for the sweets, money & advent calendars - very kind.

Teen Bro'
OMG, I can now say it - it's Christmas next month - how totally mental is that. This year has definitely been the fastest on record. Could it feel that way as I've been out of the country for 5 weeks, in the past 10 months?

Continuing the holiday theme, we went over to see Robert & Rowan for a few days, and what a great time we had. Even though we don't get together too often, we always have a good laugh, and as we has the caravan as our crash-pad, it was great to spend some teen-time together.

On Sunday we got right into village life, helping to mash up Apples to make the most incredible Apple juice ever - if you ever get the chance to try some - do it. It's not all weak like from the shops, it's so sweet & full of flavour - amazing. Even some of the cider was ok, although it was flat, and we'd have preferred fizzy. The most strange was a Black coloured Cider, which they wouldn't tell anyone the secret ingredient of. At the end of the Apple pressing we ended up having an Apple fight with some of the other kids from the village - loads of fun, and very messy, with Apple bits splattered everywhere - the Birds will be happy.

Even our six mile walk was ok, a bit scary in places - when we had to go through fields of Cows, which you know I don't like. Despite Dad telling me that they weren't interested in me (us) they seemed to get closer & closer, and I was worried they'd charge us & trample us to death! Anyway, as you can guess, we survived and had a well deserved drink & played some pool at a nice pub, with a very flashy cat outside - Audi R8, look it up, if you want to see one for yourself.

We had a very educational day next, with a trip to the Black Country Living Museum. They had old shops, school, pub, blacksmith, and chain-makers, with everyone dressed up as they would have been over 100 years ago. It was odd to see how 'basic' the houses were, and how tough life was, we are really lucky with what we've got now. I don't think we'd cope very well if we had to live like that now. We also went on a canal trip (sounds ok doesn't it), until you realise it was in tunnels (which wasn't so good). At least we didn't go all the way through, as that was nearly two miles long - half a mile was plenty far enough. Robert & Tom got to 'walk' the boat back by lying down & pushing against the tunnel wall with their feet - moving a boat that weighed several tons - impressive. I couldn't be persuaded to go into the mine - although as it turns out, it was only just under the ground, but cleverly made, so it seemed like you were in a real coal mine. Dad & Alfie went in and said it was pitch dark at times - I would have freaked!

Sadly, all too soon our holiday was over. We'd had a lovely time & been fed to bursting point by Shelly & Tom's cooking - delicious, thank you. Robert and Rowan still had time for more holiday fun - Robert with his Grandma for a few days, and Rowan with a friend going to Wales for a few days in the caravan with Tom & Shelly.

We didn't get back & do nothing. No, on Thursday we went over to Lowestoft to see Grandma & Grumps, Monty, Connie, Ben & Catherine. Luckily the weather was dry so we spent most of the time in the garden playing football or throwing the American football about. Strange to think that the last time we saw them was in France back in February, and it might be many more months til we see them again, as they might be going to the chalet over Christmas, then again at Easter, when we'll be in Tignes.

Finally a rest day on Friday - phew, although there was still some tidying up to do & a pile of washing, almost as tall as Alfie, for Mum to get busy with!

Saturday was Halloween, but as you can imagine, trick-or-treat is not for a 15 year old, so I had some mates over for a night of scary movies, and scary they were too. Alfie did go out, but not for very long, as he's got a bit bored of it as well. We did answer the door for the kids coming to our door, which was fun. It was also fun to make some cakes & carve Pumpkins - OMG, is that what getting older is all about!

That'll have to do, as we've got school tomorrow, so better go to bed a bit before 11 o'clock for once!

25/10/2015 Happy Birthday 13 years old

Teen Bro'
Well, there are now two teenagers in the house - what fun the next few years are going to be for everyone! He didn't transform into 'Kevin the teenager' overnight, but it's only a matter of time. He's a rich boy as he got lots of money for his birthday, which Mum & Dad hope he spends wisely. He also got lots of Lynx shower stuff - are people trying to tell him something?

He had a really good day - no school (as it was the start of the half term holiday), a trip to the cinema to watch the scorch trials (the follow up to the maze runner), and a monster tea at Zak's burger restaurant. He wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone for their presents, he knows how lucky he is.

So, while Alf had an easy couple of days at school, I was working, yup working - on my work experience placement at Brundall Primary School. There were three of us, me, Beth & Maddy, and we were proper made to work. On the first two days I came home exhausted, first night I went to bed at 9 o'clock which is unheard of. We had a really good time, helping out the kids & teachers, and learned lots about working in school - very different from the 'other side of the desk'. We even came in the day after the kids had finished to help sort things out, and get them ready for the next half term - til Xmas, yikes, is it only 7 weeks away.

We are both looking forward to our half term holiday next week, not only a week off school, but a visit to see Robert & Rowan for a few days, which should be really good fun. Not all fun though, I'll still have a bucket of homework to do, no doubt - great!

Not Quite...Almost....
Whoosh, another week gone, and less than a week until Alfie becomes a teenager - I can hardly wait. He's already got the staying in your messy & smelly bedroom for hours on end well sorted, so I wonder what other lovely surprises he's got in store for us.

Anyway, that's next week - what about last week? Well, we got pretty thrashed in a school Netball tournament at the UEA. Even our football team mate, who goes to Norwich School didn't do us any favours, and they killed us - embarrassing, we just couldn't score goals like we normally can - never mind.

At least we were better at Football, and beat Kesgrave school in the National Cup competition, so who knows we might get as far as last time - down to the final 32 teams in the country I think it was. That was my only game of the week, as we didn't have a game on Saturday, as we should of been playing one of the teams that dropped out.

What the school Sweden Football team did have was a fancy night out at the Broadland Community at Heart awards. We were nominated in the  Sporting Achievment category, for all our fundraising (rather than our results on the pitch). Although we didn't win we were runners up, and all very proud of what we'd achieved. We all got dressed up & had a fun time, while trying our best not to be too noisy & 'look sexy' whenever the photographer came over- best Wednesday school night in a long while!

Dad's found some new 'torture' app for football training - 7 mins of sheer agony, basically just like circuit training speeded up - GREAT!Speaking of football training, seems like Alfie's got a bit 'interesting' when two the the players repeatedly refused to do what he wanted and were sent home, Dad was waiting to pick Alfie up & just couldn't help himself & had to tell them what he thought - him being a coach himself. So, that meant that they were two 'goodish' players short for their game on Sunday, and I'm afraid it showed. They lost 3-0, but it could of been different if Alfie had scored with a shot in the 2nd half that just whizzed past the post, when it was just 1-0. Sadly, there are still too many players who get knocked off the ball too easily - they need to come to our training sessions, we'll make them 'man-up'.

Not much else to say really, watching the rain, doing homework & getting ready for work experience at Brundall school next week - should be fun.

Not Quite...
What a crazy mixed up week…. First my friend Hannah got herself all in a state – don’t worry hon, everything will sort itself out – just believe. The I got the lurg, and couldn’t get out of bed for 2 days – seriously, I just had no energy & I felt rank. I reckon Mum gave it to me as she wasn’t too great either, sniffing, coughing & sneezing everywhere.

Luckily Alf was still well so we at least had his yummy bread rolls, plaits, and twists to eat, otherwise we might have starved. Poor Dad nearly did on Tuesday, Mum went skiing, and just left him two tiny potato waffles (hardly one mouthful), he wasn’t too impressed as that was supposed to be his main meal of the day!

The end of the week couldn’t come soon enough for both of us – school is seriously gonna do us in – it’s just non-stop punishment – phew. Thank god it’s only 2 weeks til half term.

However, as you know our weekends are hardly relaxing. Us Girls won our first cup game ever, now we’re in the semi-finals – so only 2 games away from winning a trophy. Just the two toughest teams left to beat, but we gotta believe we can. No team is unbeatable – talking of that, my friend Rachel came over for the afternoon (she plays for the team we could meet in the final). We had a right laugh – even though we’d seen each other at school, there always seems to be stuff to talk about. Don’t know whether it was then, or sometime before, that my bed sheet ripped. Alfie reckoned it must have been a massive fart, but it was my feet – honest.

I thought she might stay at mine, but she was supposed to be playing for her Boy’s team on Sunday morning, so I went to stay at hers. We went to her match, and despite going to training, and being asked to come along, she didn’t even get on the pitch to play – she was gutted, and rightly so – Dad would never treat his players like that, it’s a team game afterall. She decided that that was enough, and gave her kit back – such a shame as it was only a season ago that she played in the cup final for them – shocking!

Alfie’s team played away at East Harling, near Thetford somewhere apparently! His team wasn’t able to play as well as they did last week, and ended up losing 3-0. Dad said that Alfie played well, but just didn’t get enough support from some of his players, who don’t seem to try as hard. He was able to show some good skills & put in some really dangerous crosses, but there would be no-one in the box to finish it off – disappointing. He says he is still enjoying it, and as he is still going with Dad on his 5k runs, he should be getting fitter, so I’m sure things will get better as the season goes on.

Only just over a week to go until I go to Brundall school for my work experience placement, which should be really interesting & hopefully I’ll learn more about whether teaching still seems to be for me.

Not Quite...
I was right, the chocolate pizza didn't last long - it was all gone within 3 days - yum, yum.

Talking of food, Alfie made some tasty Macaroni Cheese in his school food tech lesson - good work bro.

Other than that 'highlight', it was a pretty normal school week, for both of us - which meant, homework, homework ,homework.

Even the weekend was more normal, with football taking centre stage. Could us Girls make it 4 wins out of 4? This would be our toughest game so far - Hellesdon, who my friend Rachael plays for. If you remember, last season we had that incredible 2-2 draw, could we do it again. Well, we gave it our very best shot, but in the end we just came up short, and lost 2-1. Even though we were very disappointed to lose, we knew we'd played really well, and given Hellesdon a very hard game - we were so pleased how far we'd come. Three seasons ago we'd lost 15-0 to them, now we were disappointed to lose 2-1, not bad progress eh.

In 'celebration' me & Mum went into the City for a bit of shopping. While we came back with some useful clothes & stuff, Dad..... he managed to find a pair of skis in a charity shop - he's totally bonkers for a bargain that Boy!

I was going to go and watch Alfie play on Sunday, but I just had too much homework to do - shame as Beth ended up reffing. Both Mum & Dad went to watch them play against Sprowston. Despite his toe still being swolen & a bit Black, he played the whole match. Not only that - he scored a goal, nearly scored another, and was his team's man-of-the-match. Despite all this, his team drew 3-3, even though they were 3-1 up, with only 10 mins left to play. Much like us, they were pleased that they'd played better & could / should have won.

While Alfie rested, I got Dad back out again for some football practice, as my Left foot passing needed some work, and it was definitely worthwhile - hopefully I'll get a chance to 'show it off' next week.

To finish off the weekend, me & Mum went to the Theatre Royal to see the Annabel (the Girl that Mum looks after at School) in a play. Although she is nearly blind, she had help, and was really good - respect to her. Now back to the homework - happy days eh!

Gimme a Break!
OMG, what a week – I’ve been waiting over 8 months & now I can’t believe it’s been & gone! What’d ya mean what, the One Direction concert of course. It was incredible…. Yes, I know there are only 4 of them now, but it was still so amazing, even better than when I saw them at Wembley. The concert was in London again, this time in the O2 arena – smaller & indoors, so the atmosphere (and noise) was mental – I just about lost my voice! The only downer – it was on a Thursday evening, and we had school the next day. Being honest, I wasn’t at my best on Friday, after about 4 hours sleep – even I admit, I was a grumpy hag!

While I was having a bonkers time, Alfie was being bonkers – badly stubbing his big toe, which he thought he’d broken cos it hurt sooooo much! I have to be honest, the bottom of his toe nail is all black & his toe is nearly twice the size, so he’s not faking it. That meant no football training for him on Saturday. Luckily really as it stopped him hurting it again (as I’m sure he would have), before he was off trampolining (mainly on one foot – but still pulling some nifty tricks, or so he says). Seems like they were lucky to get on, as it turns out that someone broke their leg earlier in the afternoon – ouch!

My Saturday was another football special, we played away against Bradwell & won 3-1 (that’s two teams that we’ve beaten for the first time EVER!). We’ve played three games & won them all, meaning we are top of the league – incredible. Now we’ve just got to beat Hellesdon & things would be soooo peachy. That game is next Saturday – can’t wait!

Alfie stayed round Joe’s on Saturday night, and Mum & Dad went out to the Lavender House restaurant for a posh meal – leaving me home alone. I had some money for tea, so I treated myself to a feast of my own – FOUR McDonald’s Cheese Burgers AND Chips. Yup, I was proper full after that, but well deserved I thought.

No football for Alfie on Sunday. He had his friend Kyle’s party to go to, and his foot was still Black & swollen, so he would have struggled anyway. So, while he was off with his mates, I was helping Mum with cooking, for Nanna & Grandad. I made Jam Roly-Poly, and very tasty it was too. Not quite as tasty as the amazing chocolate pizza (yup, chocolate pizza), that Nanna brought round – amazing & delicious. That isn’t going to last very long in our house.

Gimme a Break!
Bloody hell, I’m sick of all this work, work, work – and its only been two weeks – when’s half term? I think the teachers are secretly trying to kill us through overwork, but how do I prove it? If it’s true, I won’t be able to say ‘told you so’!!!! I suppose It’s not forever, just another few months / years – mmmm, was that supposed to make me feel better – FAIL. Suppose I shouldn’t complain as I learned last week that I got a Grade B in my first science GCSE, and a Grade B in Food tech GCSE, so not a bad start eh!

After my two goals on Saturday, I scored again for my School team, in a cup game against a team from Lowestoft, who we also played in the competition last year, when Grandma & Grumps came to watch. So, I was hoping to make it a hatrick of scoring matches when I played on Saturday, but it just wasn’t my day. I had loads of chances, but just couldn’t shoot – I got sooooo annoyed with myself that I demanded to go back into defence, as I thought I was messing it up for the team – even though they said I wasn’t. Luckily Bryony & Anya had their shooting boots on & we ended up winning 7-1, against Shrublands from Gorlestone. Played two, won two, and top of our league – WOW, unbelievable.

Sadly, Alfie’s game was postponed at the last minute, so him & Dad went off to practice & watch Blofield play. My friend Beth was refereeing this game, and another one in the afternoon. I didn’t realise she got £15 for each game - £ 30 for 3 hours ‘work’ not bad – kicking myself for not doing the course now – never mind eh!

Great to see Grandma & Grumps, who came over for lunch. Grumps had some of his mad stories as usual, and everyone seemed to enjoy the Chocolate pudding I made – even though I thought it was too sickly sweet for me, and I had to go for a lie down. Poor old Grumps was also tired, and had to have his afternoon snooze as well – bless.

If someone was to tell us that less than 3 weeks ago we were in America, I wouldn’t believe them, as it seems like months ago already. At least Dad has started to look at Ski chalets for next Easter, so that’s something to look forward to, even if it is 6 months away. In between there should be a trip to Robert & Rowan’s, and Christmas of course, so not all bad.

Back to the homework – yup no rest, even on Sunday night – slave labour or what!

13/09/2015

Reality Check
Argh, that was tough – back to school, and it seems like the teachers are out to drown us under a pile of homework – both me & Alf had some in nearly every subject, that needed to be done like NOW, NOW, NOW….. whoa, steady….. we’re still in holiday mode! So, every night has been spent with heads in books – not what I’d call fun. If this is what year 11 is all about, it’s gonna be a toughie. At least we got to catch up with our friends & tell them all about our holiday – trouble is that just reminds us how fab it was, and make us wish we were back out there!

It’s been proper hard on the mind & body as on Thursday I had PE & Dance at school, then School Football practice, followed by more Football training with Dad – brutal!

That was all forgotten when we played our first game of the season, against last season’s league winners, and won 5-3. Not only did we win, but I scored two goals – check me, equal top goal scorer with Abi, who scored a fantastic free-kick at the end – Lionel Messi would have been proud of that one. When the final whistle went we were so pleased…. stunned really, but it felt awesome – especially after what happened last season, with my blood injury – sweet revenge.

Norwich must have been inspired by our performance, and they won 3-1 against Bournemouth. Sadly, Alfie’s new team couldn’t make it 3 wins over the weekend – they lost 7-2 against their league’s champions. It might have been different if Alf hadn’t been hacked down by their keeper, after 20 mins, and couldn’t play on. His knee was very bruised & swollen, luckily Dad had plenty of ice packs, so it should be ok for next week.

We went to see Annalise and Harvey in the afternoon & I think we've talked them into going to Florida next year. I think their Dad was hoping that we'd say it was rubbish & not to bother - but you know by now, that was soooooo not gonna happen!

We’re still going through all the Florida photo’s (there are sooooo many) and we’ll keep adding the best ones when we can, so keep checking back (God, that sounded American, didn’t it), well then, have a nice day

05/09/2015

Bye Bye America
Incredibly, were already down to our last few days in the USA (this trip anyway)!

Day 10 – A return trip to Universal Islands of Adventure, mainly to do the Harry Potter Duelling Dragons ride that we couldn’t do last week cos of the lightning. Well worth it, as it was two coasters racing reach other, and feeling like they were going to crash – very clever. Talking of clever, another walk around Hogsmead and you realise just how much detail there is – incredible. Also amazing is the trip on the Hogwarts Express train – not just an ordinary ride between theme parks – so clever. Then something the Boys had been looking forward to all week – a trip to a shooting range, and the chance to shoot real guns! The place was just in a normal street & after 5 mins of being shown what to do, we were left on our own – yikes. Luckily we had ear defenders, as the noise is incredible (frightening really). Me & Mum were really nervous, not even really wanting to touch the guns, whereas Dad & Alfie were like kids in a sweetshop – saddo’s. We mostly watched while the Boys played with their toys – blasting holes in paper targets & calling it great fun – whatever!

Day 11 – The first cool day – only 85 degrees or so, and another water park – Typhoon Lagoon this time. Sorta like Blizzard Beach but in a Pirate shipwreck theme, with a boat stuck on the top! The slides weren’t as intense as before, and even the baddest slide wasn’t as mad as Summit Plummet. It was still great fun, especially the wave pool, as it made waves like you’ve never seen – the were at least 10ft tall, and totally swamped you – absolutely mental, and of course, great fun.

Day 12 – Incredibly, we visited our last theme park today – Animal Kingdom. We didn’t know what to expect, more caged animals, or something better. Fortunately, it was lots better – they had loads of space to roam around in (although the Lions weren’t doing much – just chillin’, like our Cats do. That’s a point, wonder how our beasts are doing back home – having a lovely quiet time I expect. The two things we really wanted to do were great – the Safari (we got to see loads of different animals out in the open, which was really nice), and the Expedition Everest rollercoaster. The ride was really clever – shooting you backwards when you didn’t expect it. The theming was totally incredible, almost an attraction in itself – hate to think how much it cost! We had a bit of time in the afternoon, so decided to chill by the pool at our villa – now this is definitely a life we could get used to.

Day 13 – Shockingly, it’s already our last full day in Florida – two weeks have just disappeared. At least we finished on a high – literally, with a trip to another water park, and some of the longest, steepest drop water slides in America! They were awesome – you have to stand in these tubes, they close a door & a trap door opens beneath your feet & you just fall straight down – mad, scary fun. No way Mum was going on, but there were plenty of other good slides – especially the 8 lane racing slide, really great fun. Then there was the double tube ride that Mum refused to go again after Dad made them go airborne! – wimp! So, it was a sad drive back to our villa, and the tedious job of packing. At least we had a treat for tea, especially for Mum, an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet, including Lobster! Mum & Dad each ate TWO Lobsters & loads of other Fish stuff – I had a burger!

All packed and out of our villa by 10am, with a few hours to waste before our flight home – what else could two Girls do, but go shopping! We had a great time at the massive Florida Mall, so many fab shops. The Boys, they went off to shoot some more guns at the firing range. Alfie was soooo excited & Mum so worried they were going to get hurt somehow – bless. They were both still talking about it when we met up – guns, bullets, targets….. blah, blah, blah.

The flight home was less glam than before, as the plane was just a jumble of people all desperately trying to get some sleep, and mostly failing. We might have sneaked an hour or so, no more & when we landed, we could only just keep our eyes open until we got to the car – then it was ‘good night’.

Back home and the Cats were fine – knew there was no reason to worry about them. The biggest shock was how cold it was – 17 degrees, about half what we were used to. The only thing for it – put the central heating on! So, we had an amazing time. Went to some fantastic places, saw some incredible things, and realise just how lucky we are – 3 foreign holidays in less than 8 months – wow.
Now, the sad reality of a return to normality & school – just got to readjust to English time – 5 hours ahead of Florida, so we might be Zombies for a few days.

Yeeee Ha Florida - Part II
We're having the most fun ever - every day something different, and you know what, we could kinda get used to this lovely hot weather.

Day 4 – No rest, up & out early - back to Universal, but this time Islands of Adventure. We got there for opening time at 9.00, and we’d been on the amazing Hulk coaster in the first 15 mins. What a ride – amazing acceleration, just like Rita at Alton Towers, then twists & loops like you won’t believe – superb. So was the Spiderman 3D ride, the effects are brilliant – the rocks coming at you make you duck your head! Then we were shot up in air on Dr Doom, and it was only 10.30 – what a fab time. We then made our way to Hogwarts, and Harry Potter, and it’s amazing. If it wasn’t for the heat, and the other people, you could imagine you were there. Even queuing for the rides is an experience, you walkthrough Hogwarts, which has so much to see, not like anything we’ve ever seen before. The ride was good, although there were bits of motion simulator, when you were flying with Harry playing Quiddich, which made us all feel a bit sick. We had a break for lunch & then it rained, and rained – still nearly 30 degrees though, so a bit of a cooling shower! Mum went shopping (and bought a pearl, after opening a real Oyster shell – quite cool). Was wasn’t good, the weather meant they shut the other ride that we really wanted to do – so we’ll have to come back!

Day 5 – Ahhhhhhhhh, lovely…… a day at a water park – Blizzard Beach, the ski resort in Florida – genius. We were then when it opened, and while Mum relaxed with her book, we hit the slides, and wow, they were awesome. Fully dark tubes, racing side-by-side, and of course, the Big Daddy ride – Summit Plummet – 60ft nearly straight down, and nearly 50mph – scary, but real top-fun! No way we’d get mum on this one, but she did go on the next steepest one, which was also brilliant as you went so fast you took-off, and got some ‘air’ – awesome. What a fab day, we didn’t leave until it closed. The only downer – despite putting on factor 30 Sun cream, we got burnt – ouch!

Day 6 – Change of plan, it should have been a beach day, but as we were pretty cooked from yesterday, we decided to go to SeaWorld instead, and it was better than expected. I’m not into keeping animals in captivity, so wasn’t going to see any of the shows, however they had two great coasters – Manta & Kraken. The Shark tank was kinda cool, as you walked through a glass tunnel, and the Beluga Whales were cute. On the down side, there was this massive Walrus that just kept doing the same thing over & over, I reckon cos he was totally bored – which is exactly what I don’t like. As the park isn’t massive, we had time in the afternoon to go trampolining. The place was very like the ones back home, except the trampolines weren’t as bouncy – new springs needed! – good fun though, and a good job their air-con was working otherwise we’d have melted!

Day 7 – OMG, have we been here nearly a week already! Time sure does fly when you’re havin’ fun. And what fun, Hollywood Studios, which we really only came to for two things – The Tower of Terror & the Aerosmith Rollercoaster, and we weren’t disappointed! Wow – the Tower of Terror is totally amazing, a 7 story drop, in a brilliantly themed old hotel. We’d just finished the stuff we wanted to do when it started to rain, and rain & rain – like you wouldn’t believe. We waited for about 20 minutes & then decided we’d just get wet – quite refreshing really, being soaked through in 90 degree heat!

Day 8 – An early start as we had to drive 50 miles to Tampa to visit Busch Gardens. We got there as the gates opened and got on all the amazing roller coasters in the first couple of hours. OMG, what an amazing day – what was best Cheater Hunt, Falcon’s Fury – dropped straight down towards the ground, from 300ft in the air? Mum wasn’t feelin’ it today & only came on a couple of rides – she’s not as hard-core as us! We didn’t realise they also had animals there, and just like SeaWorld, there was good & bad – the Giraffe’s & Zebra had loads of space to roam in, but the Tigers & Cheaters didn’t and seemed bored – doing their pacing up & down stuff – not so good.

Day 9 – Phew, a well earned rest day. A trip to Cocoa Beach on the Atlantic coast & what a blast. The water was soooo lovely & warm & the waves fantastic. Guess what – yup, even with factor 30 suncream on, and quite a bit of cloud, we got burnt (me & Alf look like Lobsters).

Scarily, writing this we realise we've only got another few days here, which doesn't seem possible, or fair - better make the most of it!

23/08/2015

Yeeee Ha Florida
We weren’t looking forward to being stuck on a plane for hours & hours (4 trips to France!), but it wasn’t too bad. Lots of food & drink, and movies – we watched 3 each, and almost before we knew it, we were landing. Then we had to queue to get into the USA – an hour and a half! then another queue for the car, and finally we were on our way – in the most incredible thunderstorm ever – the lightning was unbelievable! Dad did a great job of driving through the rain, on the ‘wrong’ side of the road, in the dark – good job! We finally got to our villa at about 9pm, which is really cool – 4 bedrooms and our own swimming pool.

Day 1 – Mmmmm, wide awake at 5am – not how we expected to start things – just our messed up body clocks, not yet adjusted to the 5hr time difference. That meant we were up and about early – shopping at Walmart by 8am! What a store! Totally massive, selling everything (even car tyres), and the portions - HUGE. So, we went on a holiday shopping spree and filled our trolley with loads of great stuff. That was only the start of things – off to Universal Studio’s in the afternoon. A great first theme park. Diagon Alley from Harry Potter was amazing – hidden away, and then you turned a corner and were in the middle of everything – very cool. Even better was the Gringots Ride. We queued for nearly an hour, but it was sooo worth it – incredible. The 3D effects were amazing, you’ve totally gotta do it. And the Rockin’ roller coaster, where you pick your own music, and go straight up 60m & then straight down again – so good we did it twice!

Day 2 – A bit of shoppin’ in the morning. No massive bargains, but still a new pair of converse shoes for me & Alfie – so, good news for us. A quick snack at the villa & off to Epcot, which is all about the future. The big globe thing is really smart, but it’s not a coaster park, with more simulation stuff – like going into space, which made us (mostly Mum & me) feel really ill, and we had to sit down for a while after. Dad & Alfie went off on their own before we met up again for test track, which was a really cool car ride, with wicked acceleration on the outdoor test track.

Day 3 – A trip to Disney’s Magic Kingdom – Mickey Mouse & all that. Sorry if we sound a bit bored by it, but if we’re honest, it was all a bit too much for younger kids, and it was roasting hot, touching 40 degrees in the early afternoon – phew! Now, don’t get it wrong, it wasn’t all bad – Space Mountain (an indoor coaster, in the dark) was good, and the runaway mountain train was fun. The best ride of all was Splash Mountain – a lovely cooling water ride, where you get completely soaked! – it was soooo refreshing. We did get to see Mickey & Minnie Mouse, in the parade, briefly, as we made our way to one of the rides, when the queues are really short.

As you can see, we're having an amazing time. Yes, it's hot & we're walking miles everyday, but it is such a wicked place & still so much to do.

16/08/2015

The Final Countdown
Unbelievable - this time next week, we'll be 5,000 miles away in the USA. Crazy to think that Dad booked the holiday nearly a year and a half ago out - how quick time goes.

We've had loads to do as we are straight back to school after we get back, so we've been getting new clothes, shoes, and finishing homework - pretty boring really. Thankfully, not everything was so tedious, I went to Pleasurewood Hills with Hannah & Rachel, which was fun, but I reckon very tame compared to the thrills & spills we're going to get in Florida!

Alfie started Football training with his new team, and now has a lovely light Blue top. He said some of the skills he's been practicing all Summer came in really handy, and his coach was proper impressed, as he didn't over-use them, or try & show off - good work Alf.

While Alf was training, we were playing a friendly against a team of ex-NCFC academy players. Even though they were younger than us, they were very skillful, and fit. OMG, we played 3 x 25 mins, and we were wrecked. We all agreed that we needed to be more fit, and we'll be doing the couch-to-5k, no excuses!

So, that means we can't go crazy in Florida & eat our body weight in junk everyday - which it seems easy to do. Alfie's friend's Dad put on a stone & a half in two weeks - that's half Alf's body weight! Maybe the heat will just be sooo much that all we'll want to do is drink. It's certainly going to we proper strange to be out when it rains, and it's still very warm - should be refreshing! It'll be a shock when we come back, as it could be nearly 20 degrees colder - brrrrrrrrrrr!

We've got our plan (and it has some rest time in it - just for Mum), and now all that's left is getting everything into our cases, and getting the holiday started....... FLORIDA HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

09/08/2015

Half Gone Already
Good news is that there weren't too many after-effects of our grilling in the Sun, that we mentioned last week. The bad news, that's three weeks of holiday we've had, and only 3 more left - but at least two of them are in Florida.

Not a whole lot to tell you about this time, to be honest. We'll not every week can be a 24/7 fun filled party....... yet!

Anyway, Mum is right proud of herself - not only did she manage to light the storm kettle on Lowestoft beach (twice), she also managed to jog for 25 minutes without stopping as part of her couch to 5k challenge. She only needs to get to 30 mins, and she'll have made it - that's way better than I could do. I'll have to get into it, maybe my footy Girls will do it with me.

Me, Beth & Dad got back on our bikes this week, and although we managed 20 miles, the pace was pretty gentle (even I agree) - but it's still exercise! I was saving my energy though, for trampolining in the afternoon, and it was me & Beth again (with Alfie tagging along as he could bear to think that I'd gone & he hadn't). It was great fun, Beth hadn't been before & was already talking about coming again, before we'd even finished. Alfie is like a little rubber ball. His front & back flips are very cool, especially with the twists - impressive bro!

Sunday was another warm day, and as we'd not planned anything - what do you think we did? Yup, back to the beach - 3rd time in a week. Somewhere a bit different, the other side of Sea Palling, but still where the rocks are - Eccles I think it was called. Strange though, it was nice & quiet, although there was an electric fence on the beach - honestly! It was to protect some Birds or something that nest on the beach - so, why the electric fence, the birds flying about didn't look dangerous or anything - confused.

We came back and started to make a holiday plan of the places we want to visit in Florida, and its looking busy, busy, busy - no lazy days & lies in for us, it's going to be full-on fun, Mum's going to be exhausted.

Plenty of Horsing Around
Only two & a bit weeks to go til our holiday - did we mention that we were going to Florida? It's 30 degrees & 80% humidity (whatever that means), all I know is, it's gonna be hot, hot, hot!

After the fun of the camping, a few dull & boring days (cos Mum was all tired out). Alfie obviously wasn't as he arranged a trip to the new Trampoline Park in Norwich - High Altitude........ Well, he says it's smaller than the one in London, but still good. He found out how much smaller it was when he landed on his face and mangled his glasses & cut his cheek - showing off to his friends?...... probably.

At least the end of the week really rocked - literally. We went to Newmarket Races, to see some Horse Racing, which none of us had done before, but also to see the Kaiser Chiefs play live. The weather was lovely, but the people were something else........ drunk, loud & very selfish - who did they think they were, they weren't posh, but strangely they were pretending to be - get over yourselves! Anyway, that was a shame, as we had fun picking horses that we thought might win - and not doing too well. Then there was a Horse called 'MyBoyAlfie', so Dad decided to put a bet on it to win - with real money - steady on eh! Of course, it didn't win, finishing 5th I think, so we didn't all make it rich. I saw my friend Caroline, and her Sister had won over £50, in one bet, and had already decided what she was spending her winnings on, a new coat. Who says gambling doesn't pay! So, onto the Kaiser Chiefs..... wow, what a show. It was getting dark, we were outside, and they had soooo much energy - especially the singer Ricky (who Mum really likes). They did loadsof songs we knew, so we were singing along. Alfie could just about see, and even had some time on Dad's shoulders, but that hurt HIS back - ironic or what, given that Dad is a cripple!

Some rest on Saturday (as we didn't get home til 1 in the morning), then we decided on a game of Pitch & Putt. It was the usual unpredictable mix of OK & awful. We all decided that we needed to get back to the driving range for some urgent practice. Maybe I'll speak to Chloe, get some tips from her.

Sunday was another lazy start, but we finally managed to haul ourselves to Waxham beach. Although it wasn't too sunny, we all got a bit Pink, as we didn't put any sun cream on (naughty). We had a slap up feast of Pot Noodles, with water boiled by the storm kettle (of course). We did have a paddle in the Sea but it was a bit on the chilly side, and full of Red Seaweed that was also all over the beach - ripped up off the seabed by a storm out at Sea Dad says.

Not sure what we're up to next week, but strangely we need to do any Schooly things quickly, as when we go on holiday, that's our chance gone, straight back to School after......yikes - last year & lots of exams.

Damp Camp
Once you've seen some of Edie's Sweden pictures ,you’ll have to put up with me. While she had a jolly old time, I was stuck at school, but it wasn’t too tough – the last week of term never is. At least I had a treat of my own – a trip to the Latitude festival, with my Cousins Robert & Rowan. We had great weather, heard some great music, and some rubbish – that Mum told us was going to be fab! I won’t be listening to her musical recommendations again, any time soon. We were totally exhausted when we got back (at about 1 in the morning) – luckily I was on holiday, but Mum still had to go to work – she must have been a zombie!

We had a couple of lazy days, then we were put to work – getting thing ready for a camping trip, meeting up with Robert & Rowan (again) who had been staying in their caravan since Latitude. We loaded up the car (still don’t know how we squeeze it all in), and were fully sorted by lunchtime – makes a big change from 5hr car journeys! It was lovely to spend the afternoon in the Sun & playing football.
Shame was, that night the wind blew & it rained & rained & rained – we woke up & it was still raining, but at least the tent was (mostly) dry. We couldn’t be bothered to do too much, a quick trip into Bungay, and a nice meal out at a country pub. Saturday was only a bit better, but dryer & warmer in the afternoon, so we went to the Beccles Lido, and almost had the pool to ourselves – which meant loads & loads of tricks on the diving board. Edie managed a back-flip, while me & Dad showed off our full set of tricks! We’d not finished with our swimming though, as we decided to go in the river by the campsite, as they had a great rope-swing right into the middle. We had a mental time. Dad spotted this old air mattress, which we blew up and floated on the river, which we used to jump on. Tom even got their Dog Maesy on it, and dropped her from the rope swing – cool Dog.

As the only dry weather was on Sunday morning, we decided to pack up our stuff, before heading off for a family meal to celebrate Nanna & Grandad’s 50th wedding anniversary. All the Cousin’s were there, and we had a lovely dinner – homemade burgers & desserts to die for. If you are anywhere near Somerlayton – check out the pub.

Now just the boring job of putting all the stuff away, before we then need to start thinking about Florida – only 3 and a bit weeks to go now – starting to get excited.

Svensk Return
What an amazing experience – sadly over far too quickly, but something I’ll never forget. I’d forgotten that there were some of my friends that had hardly been abroad, and some had never been on a plane before – no wonder they were a bit nervous, at least they weren’t sick – phew.
We got to our accommodation (the school classroom) and realised that we’d be sleeping on gym mats, in pretty thin sleeping bags. Thank God I brought my pillow! Imagine trying to get a good night’s sleep in a room of 16 Girls – not going to happen, so how did the week in Sweden go?

Day 1: No game, so a chance for some training and getting an idea of where things were. Travelling around on the trams was really good fun. Food at the school not great. I reckon I’ll be spending most of my money on something ‘edible’.

Day 2: Our first game, and how exciting – playing against a team from another country. The build up was amazing, we were all on such a roll. We played pretty well & although we didn’t score, we didn’t let any in either, so a 0-0 draw – good result. I was the manager’s star player as well, so what a day! A quick change & off to the opening ceremony, which was incredible 25,000 people in the main stadium, and a brilliant show – a late night, but worth it.

Day 3: Another game, on the back of little sleep & even less breakfast, and a change in team formation, we struggled. We tried hard (I nearly crawled off at the end), but we lost 2-0, not a disaster. At least we had a bit of spare time to do some shopping (for food mainly), and a trip to the beach – but by that time it had got really windy (cold).

Day 4: A tough match today, and it was hot. I felt really sick (not drinking enough), I know – but when it’s a choice of water or Milk at breakfast, its not great prep! We ended up losing 4-0, but they were a really good team (from Sweden again), and they were all soooo tall – made me look positively small in comparison. That means we have to wait & see what happens in the other game, to see if we finish 3rd or 4th in our group, which will change who we play next. We had a right laugh playing pitch-and-putt, we were all hopeless, but didn’t care.

Day 5: Crunch Time – knockout football. We came 4th, by letting in one more goal than the other team, which meant we played a more difficult team, at least on grass this time – the other matches had been on astro. Well, it wasn’t the greatest of pitches – very uneven, and the ref was very biased towards the other team, who you guessed it….. were Swedish. We got hardly any decisions, and it seemed all we had to do was touch them & they got a free-kick. So, you guessed it, we lost, but only 2-0, and one of them was a lucky mis-kick! We were out…….and I felt gutted, all that effort, and it was over – football wise anyway. We all got a bit upset, and most of us ended up calling home to get cheered up a bit, and told to just enjoy the holiday.

Day 6: At least we got a day of rest – which we spent at a theme park, and pretty good it was too. Some awesome coasters, just like Thorpe Park the other week. A nice warm-up for Florida (which is only 5 weeks away now – getting exciting!).

Day 7: One last bit of football (a friendly game against a German U16 team that were staying at our school). Although we lost 4-3, we were so much more relaxed & had a chance to play in different positions, so me & Beth were attackers, and I even set up a goal for her – go Girl. As it was our last day, we squeezed in some shopping, then went out for a meal (the best of the week by far).
Sadly, then it was time to come home, and leave behind a sort of a Swedish Big Brother house (as over the week there had been plenty of ups & downs, tears & tantrums!) And, before we knew it, we were off the plane, in the coach & back at school. It was interesting to see the different emotions – some of the Girls (and their parents) were a right mess, whereas I kept it together pretty well. And Dad, well, I think he was just thinking…… when can I get back to doing whatever it was I was doing!
So, a massive thank you to all the Girls & the teachers for making it such a fantastic experience – next year anyone? As you’d expect, there are literally 1000’s of pictures, and I’ll pick a few good ones for next week, and give Alfie a chance to tell you what he’s been up to.

Svensk Invasion
Whoop, whoop, it nearly time for my Sweden football adventure - can't wait, I'm sooooooo excited. It's over a year ago that we started to talk about it, and in a few hours we'll actually be there! There are only 4 teams from the whole of the UK in the tournament, including our 'old enemies' St Ivo, who cheated us in the National Cup. Wouldn't it be great if we got to play them - as long as we won!

I had loads to do before though, packing, unpacking, checking & double-checking - can't leave anything important behind, like my Football boots or something! Maybe I should be more like Dad who reckons he'd be packed in 10mins (and he's probably right).

All this fitness stuff was supposed to make us better - all it seems to have done to me is cripple my back up - GREAT! I couldn't even go to school on Thursday as it hurt too much - brilliant preparation for all the running I'll be doing over the next week. I've packed loads of pain killers, so I'll just have to 'man-up' & play through the pain. I'll have a month to properly recover before Florida, so looks like one of those real, 'no pain, no gain' situations.

Talking about that, Dad & Alfie are now running 25 minutes non-stop, and are just about doing the full 5km now - hugely impressive, after only 6 weeks of following the training plan. You should see the state of Dad when he gets back, he looks like he's melting. He must have lost so much liquid through sweat, he should look like a shrivelled Prune!

Mum is up to 5 min runs, and complaining about how she won't be able to do anymore. I remember Dad saying the same thing, so we know she'll be able to - go on, get fit for Florida.

Hey, I made my first sale on Gumtree this week - my old Blue / Purple bike for £40 - easy money. Take a picture on your phone, write a description, and pocket the cash - BRILLIANT. Its got Alfie thinking about some old computer games he wants to sell - he's jealous that I've got money & he hasn't - mustn't forget though, I owe him £13. I'll see what I've got left after Sweden!

Dad didn't make the final day relaxing & easy, he'd ripped up the carpet in Mum & Dad's bedroom, as he's got a wood floor to lay, and you can appreciate the mess that makes - thanks. At least we all got to eat Chinese, as a 'going away meal' for me, as well as easy for everyone else.

Well, no more time to sit here rambling, I've got a coach to catch, and a football holiday to enjoy with my mates. Hope everyone at home enjoys the peace & quiet while I'm away - don't forget to follow the tournament online, and wish us luck - adjo.

Half a Year Gone.....
Well, I mentioned it last week, and now half the year is over, and the days are getting shorter. At least we can't complain that its not been warm & sunny - OMG, some days we've been cooking at School. Not as bad as those people who live near Heathrow airport - the other day it was 36 degrees, that's hotter than Florida! As always, after its been hot, we get some amazing thunder storms, and wow what lightning! Incredibly, there wasn't much thunder & Mum slept right through it - must have been the Wine!

Thank God, the mock exams are over - what a relief, and what a nightmare - we've got to do it all over again next year! No rest from the football training, still 3 times a week, with the 'fitness' training often finishing off with an 800 metre run - lovely! We will be timed next week, to see if we've met our target (mine is 30 seconds less, out of 3 and a half minutes), I'm not confident. At this rate even Dad would beat me as he's still doing his running challenge, and is now running over 20 minutes without any rest stops - impressive. Him and Alfie went out on Saturday morning (quite early, but it was still hot), and they came back dripping with sweat - yuk!

I had a proper busy weekend, which started right after School. I played the first half of our game against the year 9 Boys, then straight off with Hannah & Rachel to Thetford forest to watch Sam Smith in concert. It was his first gig since having throat surgery, so we all hoped he could still sing - and could he, awesome! Less impressive was the 90 minutes it took to get out of the carpark, meaning we didn't get home til nearly one in the morning. That wouldn't have been so bad if we didn't have to get up at 6 in the morning to go to Thorpe Park. Aaaargh, it was torture. I would have tried to go to sleep on the bus, but I didn't want to wake up with a painted face (or worse!). It was really hot, and the queues for the rides were long..... but it was worth it - we all had a fab time. We were totally whacked, and sun-burned when we got home. Another shock to the system, an 8am wake up. That was sleep deprivation territory! The reason this time, the football tournament I mentioned in Lowestoft. And whatta you think the weather decided to do, in July, right after a roasting hot day? Right.... rain of course, all day, until we were packing up - typical. Grandma, Grumps and Nanna came along to support us, but even they couldn't change our luck. Although we only lost the games we did 1-0, we didn't score any goals, and ended up drawing 3 and losing 3. We just need to get better at passing, and don't panic - exactly what Dad said at the start, wasn't anyone listening? Alfie came along and had a great time playing with Beth's brother, staying out in the rain, getting soaked, then practicing headers with a ball dripping with water - quite bonkers.

I did think about doing some packing for Sweden when I got back (did I mention that I'm going to play in a football tournament?), only kidding, I know I have, once or twice - this time next week I'll be there. Anyway, I just couldn't face it and went to bed after tea, for some well earned rest.

28/06/2015 Happy birthday 15 years old

Shop til you Drop!
BA whole year older…. Now an ancient 15 year old – and 2015 is almost half over, where is the time going? Soon be Christmas at this rate!
I’ll be honest I was getting proper excited the day or so before my birthday – I know, I know – big kid & all that. Even though it was a school day, it was good, people being extra nice, and Chinese for tea. And, well I almost don’t know what to say….. gosh, just how sooooo lucky I am. All the lovely presents & generous gifts of money – too much. Me & Mum now have matching Pandora rings – very pretty. I got some funky white wall shelves from Alfie (Dad obviously), and money, money, money, for my London shopping trip – a MASSIVE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE, LOVE YOU ALL.

Finished the School week with a fitness session at the Oasis gym, and man it was tough. I think I’ve pulled a muscle in my stomach as ever since its really been hurting – no pain, no gain, for real! I think we are getting fitter though, or at least we’d better be, for all the effort we’re putting in. It’s now only two weeks to go until Sweden – getting very real now.

No late night on Friday as we had an early start on Saturday for THE SHOPPING TRIP TO LONDON. Me, Mum, Beth & her Mum Rosie all set off at 8 o’clock, luckily with the satnav to guide us, as we only had a vague idea of the general direction that London was. Incredibly, less than two hours later we were there – Stratford anyway, but that was the plan! Next part of the adventure – get the Underground to Marble Arch, at the far end of Oxford St. And you know what – no problems, who needs MEN!

WOW – Oxford St, what a place, shopping heaven, and as an added bonus – which added a whole load more noise & colour, in was London Pride. So we had shops in the middle of a carnival – awesome. We shopped & shopped, all the way to Picaddily Circus. That wasn’t the end of it though, back in Stratford, we still had the Westgate shopping centre to explore, it was almost overload! Of course, having come all that way, it would have been rude not to buy a few bits & pieces, so I did - bags of them!

So, there were 4 Girls having an amazing time in London – what were the Boys up to? Well, believe it or not, they were in London as well – back at the trampoline park. Alfie brought Joe & Ali along, and they had a great day, especially as Alfie has now ‘nailed’ the backflip – this I’ve gotta see. They also went back to the bouldering park, and it seems like Alfie was showing off a bit – what a surprise, and went for one mad thing too many, and fell off one of the boulders, onto his back – totally winding him. Dad said he didn’t see the fall but just saw Alfie staggering around trying to get his breath back – nutter!

Then it was…. Drive home, almost straight to bed, then up again at 8:00 for a football tournament at Sprowston. Luckily it was a cloudy day, so running about playing football wasn’t as bad as it would have been the day before – phew. We ended up being there most of the day, which did mean gaps between our games. Considering we’d not played for months, we weren’t too bad. We won 1 game, drew 2 & lost 3 (all by 1-0). The first game was a joke, the ball clearly went off for a goal kick, but the ref wasn’t paying attention & let play go on, and they scored, and who was playing? The home team Sprowston – funny that eh. Never mind cos the one we won, was against Rachel’s team Hellesdon, and guess what, I scored the winning goal – how good was that! We didn’t make it through to the semi-finals, but we’d had our own victory – sweet! Next week we’ve got a tournament in Lowestoft, so maybe Grandma & Grumps will come along – if it’s not raining!

The Rat Race
Gees, I’m lucky to be here, and not be in a hospital bed somewhere waiting for a heart transplant – cos mine must have stopped during the week….. in complete shock!
There I was happily eating my tea (can’t remember what it was exactly – but that’s not important), when I saw something out of the corner of your eye, as you do. I don’t think at first my little brain could accept, or deal with, what it had seen – then it realised this was no optical illusion – THERE WAS A MASSIVE DEAD RAT ON THE FLOOR, right near me! So, what do you think happened? Did I stay all cool, calm & collected, or did I SCREAM THE LOUDEST SCREAM EVER? Yup, you got it, I screamed.

So, thanks to Runty Ralph, who somehow overpowered this Rat, that was about half the size of him, killed it, then dragged it through the cat-flap, and into the dining room – lovely, thanks very much for nearly killing me! Looking more closely at Ralph, the Rat clearly put up a fight, as he has a deep cut on his nose, where he’d been bitten or scratched – serves you right!

Having survived that, as well as football fitness training, I just about had enough strength for a football match on Friday evening. I think our minds were still on the Sweden trip that we’d had a meeting about beforehand as we struggled to create many chances, against a very good Sprowston team (who haven’t lost in 2 years). We let in a soft goal from a corner (although there was a clear offside, so it should have been our free-kick – Beth, have a word with you linesman Brother!). In trying to get a goal back we left ourselves too open in defence & they scored a 2nd goal in the last couple of minutes. Overall, things to work on, which is what friendlies are all about.
Only 3 weeks til Sweden now – doesn’t seem real somehow, it’s really has sneaked up on us. Still don’t know what to expect – how good the teams will be. They are all from Sweden in our group, but it looks like we’ve got all sorts staying at the school we’re at, so should be a right laugh. We could even get on TV, if we get through to the last few teams – wow, how about that.

Talking about TV, or more accurately YouTube, on Sunday we didn’t have any plans, as Mum was at the Ski Club all day. So, I treated Dad to a picnic (how nice of me eh, as it was Father’s Day), well maybe not so nice really, as it was a picnic being held in Eaton Park by Jim Chapman one of the YouTube bloggers that I follow. How cool. I went along with my friend Jess & her Sister. Dad reckoned we’d be the only ones there, but there must have been 30+ people there, including Abi, from Football. While we had a great time chatting and handing out, Dad & Alf played Football & a bit of Basketball – so we all got something out of it. So, keep watching Jim’s YouTube channel to see if he put up a piece on his picnic in the park, cos I could be in it.
That was sooooo exciting, I nearly forgot to remind everyone that it’s my birthday next week, but of course you already knew that.

Flamin hek!
Bonjour mon ami – good eh. Well I have been practicing, with the help of Catherine, my new French teacher (the lady from down the road that I spoke about last week). She came round again last week, and I felt so much more confident afterwards – things just started to make more sense. The question was – could I ‘keep it together’ when it really counted – the French speaking exam? I didn’t have long to wait, as it was the day after, and guess what……. I got an ‘A’ grade – unbelievable. I couldn’t believe it, nor could my school French teacher, I’m note sure who was more shocked! So from a ‘D’ grade in the first exam, to an ‘A’ in the 2nd, all thanks to Dad’s work friend’s Mum – sooo pleased.
What was also amazing was another trip to London – that’s twice in 8 days. This time I went with Hannah & Rachel to see 5SOS at Wembley arena – totally amazing. Much closer to the stage than at Wembley stadium, and the atmosphere was awesome – dancing, singing & screaming all night long. There were even some real screams near the end when one of the Boys put his head too close to a stage firework and it set his hair on fire – honestly!
So, another long day & late night (asleep after 1 o’clock in the morning), but no rest as Dad was round to pick me up at 9.00, to go on a bike ride. Justt my luck though, it started to rain as we were driving back, and got heavier & heavier, so we decided we wouldn’t go. That did at least give me a chance to catch up on some rest, before we went to see Grandma & Grumps, who it seemed like we’d not seen in ages – but it probably hadn’t been that long.
We were treated to a delicious Lasagne, and Garlic bread, which we scoffed most of, then some lovely Strawberry & meringue afters – yum, yum. Shame we couldn’t stay longer, but we had Tesco coming to deliver the shopping, and after Mum got the date wrong last week, and ordered for delivery when we were in London - DOH, so we needed to be there.

What a Summertime Ball
Wow, what a week - and a school one as well – how about that!
It started well, we came third in a rounders tournament – only losing to two private schools that play it all the time, so we were well pleased.
Not so good was my French speaking test – I had revised the questions, but when they were asked, it seemed soooo fast, and I couldn’t understand some of them, and didn’t do very well – and I know it.
Something good could come out of it as someone that Dad works with has a French Mum, who lives just down the road in Brundall. She’s kindly agreed to come round and help me practice for my re-take, first lesson next week – yikes!
We had football fitness training, and it was HARD WORK, we were dead at the end. Thank God I’d been out biking with Dad & doing some fitness stuff at football otherwise I wouldn’t have lasted.
Then we had a School Football match against Hellesdon, which we won 4-1. Bryony scored a hatrick & Chloe scored the other won, so a Thorpe Utd win really. Our goalie Jess was playing for them, but looked tiny in the huge goals, so she didn’t really have a chance with any of the shots that went in.
So, mostly good so far, but the best (by far) was still to come. On Saturday we all went to London. Me & Mum went to the Capital FM Summer Ball at Wembley Stadium. OMG, it was incredible….. we saw ONE DIRECTION, Little Mix, Jess Glynn, Avicci & loads more…… it was INCREDIBLE. I couldn’t help myself, screaming & singing along to all the songs I knew – which was most of them, so sorry to all those nearby who had to listen to my out of tune screeching – but I wasn’t the only one – there were about 80,000 of us!
It was definitely THE BEST TIME EVER – thanks Mum for a brilliant birthday present. I still can’t quite believe how brilliant it was, or that I’m back in London next week to watch 5SOS, next door at Wembley Arena – check me out.
Me & Mum didn’t have all the fun though. Dad & Alfie went Bouldering – small rock climbing to you & me. They had a great time, even though Dad scraped half the skin off his fingers – yuck!
That wasn’t the half of their fun, and this is the bit that makes me a bit jealous – they went to a trampoline park. A what….. yup, a trampoline park – think of it as an indoor skateboard park, but made of trampolines, all joined together. They both had an amazing time, Alfie doing some crazy flips, and getting big respect from some random strangers. Dad did his best (for an old cripple) and managed to land his front flip, and nearly did two somersaults into the massive foam pit. They also played Dodgeball (on trampolines – obviously), which also sounds cool. The great thing is that there should be a trampoline park opening up in Norwich very soon – so I’m getting well excited to have a go myself.
It was a long, long day – we didn’t get home until after 1 o’clock in the morning. I was still wired from the concert, so didn’t sleep for ages – I was wrecked on Sunday morning – thank God I could have a lie in.
Dad was up and about early (nutter) and went around the village looking for bargains at the garage sale. He got himself some stuff, but what did he get us? I got a skipping rope – for football training, and Alfie got some juggling balls – GREAT!
Even though I was still half asleep, I still went on a 15 mile bike ride with Dad, which really killed, as he made us go faster than normal – who is he trying to impress? Not Bradley Wiggins obviously – he broke the world record for the furthest distance ridden in one hour (indoors), and you are not going to believe how far he went......20 miles, no, more.... 25 miles, still more......30 miles, no, even more..... he rode an incredible 34 miles, in ONE HOUR, I bet his legs & his Bum were DEAD!

Wasted Week Off
Well, what a week that could have been (but wasn't!). Let me torture myself & go through it all again......
  • Radio 1 Big Weekend - Didn't go. Couldn't get tickets, despite living less than 10 miles from Earlham Park - still angry!
  • NCFC @ Wembley - Didn't go. Wouldn't have been able to get a ticket. Grandma had a great day though, so she'll have to tell us all about itthe next time we see her. As it was 30 years since they were last there, I could be nearly 45 years old next time - frightning.
  • Alton Towers - Didn't go. The weather forecast for Friday was Rain, Rain, Rain, so it was decided we weren't going. I was right annoyed at first, then I saw the webcam on Friday, and we would have been soaked - all day, so it probably was the best thing.

So, we could of had a totally fun packed week - but didn't, instead it was pretty dull. Just to show you, the highlight (if you can call it that) was a trip to Cromer - we sure know how to do things in style eh!

The only other things of any interest were:

New football boots / trainers - Me and Alf got some funky new Football footwear. I've got these lovely slightly sparkly silver Nike boots & Alfie has got these really bright Orange trainers. This was on the day that we were supposed to be at Alton Towers, so it probably cost Dad more money staying in Norwich!

100 mile bike ride - Me & Beth completed 100 miles on our bikes (over 5 Saturday's!), and we are definitely getting quicker / fitter. How on earth Annalise's Dad is going to bike all that way (in one day) in the Alps I can't even begin to imagine.

Couch to 5K - Dad got us started on a running program that builds up to running 5K within 9 weeks. We started at football training & it wasn't too bad, run for 60 seconds, then walk for 90 seconds - repeating this 8 times. we've then got to do this 3 times within a week, then it gets tougher!

Pizza & Pictures - Lovely afternoon out with my mate Beth. We went to watch Pitch Perfect II which is really good - better than the first one I reckon, then off to Fankie & Bennie's for a Pizza tea - expensive but tasty.

Oh, and how could I almost forget to mention - revision. Every day, every spare moment, my head in my books - gees this is getting well tedious already. It had better all be worth it. Anyway, back to the old routine tomorrow - OMG, it's going to be sooooo tough getting up at 6.30, rather than 8.30 (or later).

High Flying Canaries
Oooh, ahhh, I ache everywhere – who ever said that exercise is good for you is clearly a liar.

First there was PE at school, not too bad. Then there was our first fitness session at school, followed by another fitness session with Dad almost straight after – starting to hurt.

Then it was school athletics at the UEA (closest I was going to get the Radio One Big Weekend!), but enough of that. I came third in the 100m & the relay race, which wasn’t too bad. What was worse – my aching legs got sunburn!

No rest for me on Saturday – even though we’re supposed to be on half-term holiday. We had our weekly bike ride with Dad & Beth. Now up to 20 miles, but only averaged 10 mph, so we need to pick up the pace a bit – strange that we’re waiting for Beth, who can run & run & run, but is finding cycling more knackering.

Dad didn’t get any rest wither. Alfie had been vegging all morning so he dragged Dad off to the park to play Football, for a couple of hours. You’d have thought that would have ‘killed’ most middle-aged office working Dad’s, but not ours. He got back from Football, and decided that he’d go swimming – so he did a sort of tri-athlon – NUTTER!

We had our first BBQ, on the new one – using this fancy Chicken spinning thing that turns it round & round, so it cooks all over – DELICIOUS.

My world is just revision, revision & more revision, so when boredom struck on Sunday, there was only one thing for it – go to Yarmouth & play on the 2p machines. If you think that is sad, you should see Yarmouth in the rain (and Mum’s ‘lovely’ new raincoat).

As you can see, we won some ‘fantastic’ prizes, obviously worth the money we spent on them. Alfie had fun, Dad bought him some of these ‘snap’ things that make a BANG, when you throw them against something, so he went around trying to make us jump. Dad got him back, he got Alfie to try the ‘electric chair’ and he couldn’t hold on to the end

Even though it was hardly BBQ weather (it had just stopped raining though), Mum did some more outdoor cooking – these really tasty Pork chop things with Maple sauce – tasty.

Monday was a Bank Holiday, so Dad was off work too, and it was Alfie’s turn to chose what we’d do….. be afraid, be very afraid. It didn’t end up being too bad – a game of pitch & putt. None of us had played for ages (and it showed) – we hacked & slashed our way around, with just the odd moment of quality. I’ve tried to forget the whole experience of being in the bunker, as it’s too painful.
We just made it back in time to watch Norwich play Middlesbrough in the play-off final at Wembley. Lots of people I knew had gone to watch, and I was a bit jealous. No Big Weekend, No Play-Off Final….. what’s the matter with us? OMG though, if anyone thought the match would be boring, not a bit of it. Norwich & Middlesbrough both hit the bar within a minute of each other, then it all went crazy – 2 goals in 3 minutes, both for Norwich.
That was pretty much it, Ruddy hardly had a save to make and they were awesome, and deserved to win – back to the Premier League - OTBC! It was said that the game is worth over £100 million pounds to Norwich – crazy money. Think of all the good things that could be done with £100m – bonkers!

I think we’ve got a lazy day tomorrow, but we could be going to Alton Towers on Friday which would be well cool. now back to the revision.

High Flying Canaries
Wow, who would have believed it – little ol Norwich City playing at Wembley, and after beating Ipswich – happy days. Dad spoke to Grandma just before she was going to the match, and she was already nervous – what’s she going to be like at the final? What do you think – was she one of the people that ran onto the pitch after the game? Anyone spot her in this picture! Poor old Uncle Ben, as an Ipswich supporter, he must be gutted – shame! So that’s Bank Holiday Monday sorted – an afternoon in front of the telly – the weather will probably be rubbish anyway.
Talking of the weather, we’ve been lucky with our Rounders matches so far – played 3, won 3. And with our bike rides. Me & Beth went out again, for the 3rd Saturday in a row, and did 19 miles this time (at a steady pace). Half the time we were slowing / stopping as Beth had seen some Ducks that she is obsessed with & had to take a look at – even though they didn’t seem that bothered about seeing her!, It was still nearly double the distance of our first ride. Dad has promised to increase each week until we reach 50 miles in early July – just before we go to Sweden (so we’ll either be fit, or DEAD!).
Alfie went Football training with his new Thorpe team again, and scored a load of goals in a 5-a-side tournament. He’s thinking that his new manager might actually see him as a more attacking player, which would be good for him, and good for his team.
On Saturday night it was Thorpe United Ladies end of season presentation evening. Even though I didn’t win any of the awards this year, they went to the right people:

  • Most Improved: Abi (joined as a defender, but Dad played her in midfield & she was one of our top scorers).

  • Managers Player of the Year: Beth (no brainer – if I was Dad I would have picked her & not just cos she’s my mate).

  • Players Player of the Year: Jess (our fearless goalie who was kicked more times than I can remember & just never gives us, even in training she’s amazing – I voted for her).I came 2nd in the Players Player award, which I’m really proud of – being the managers Daughter aint easy!

At least I had a day to rest my legs on Sunday (even if I still had revising to do). We spent the afternoon with Nanna & Grandad (and their crazy, licky Dog Tilley). We filled the car with a BBQ that Grandad didn’t want, which meant there was no room for Dad! Luckily, he’d decided that he’d bike home (32 miles in 2 hours), so it all worked out - we’ve got a cool new BBQ, and Grandad has got space on his patio.
Incredibly, next week is our last at school until we get another week off. Not sure what we’re doing (if anything), we did talk about going to Alton Towers, but nothing has been arranged – I’ll have to mention it to Dad again – gotta do Smiler again as it was awesome.

Norfolk is flat - Don't Believe it!
Uuuurgh, I have been sooooo unwell. After telling you all last week about my throat, I thought that was the worst of it, but no. I didn’t even get out of bed on Bank Holiday Monday – what a waste of a day off school that was. I wasn’t left with nothing to do – as my revision pile is always calling me, so it was hours of food tech revision. Alf didn’t feel like doing anything either, so we gave Mum & Dad the ‘afternoon off’ to go for a walk by themselves, and of course the Storm Kettle went with them. At this rate we’ll have to set up its own website – Stories of a Storm Kettle’.
By Monday evening I was roasting hot, and nothing could cool me, or my red-raw throat down – and we were fast running out of Ibuprofen & Paracetemol. I was too ill to go to school on Tuesday, which also meant I missed Dance club which was a real downer. I did at least get a bit of good news from the Doctor – no throat infection or tonsillitis.
I struggled back to school on Wednesday, but could still hardly speak – I bet my friends were well happy about that.
Mainly back to normal on Thursday, with double Football practice, and more of the fitness training with Dad – god, my stomach muscles really hurt, and the wall sits nearly broke my legs. We had a right laugh at the end though, playing football in our socks, with these sponge balls that Dad had bought, so we could feel the ball on different parts of our feet, it was hilarious.
On Saturday, Alfie went football training with Thorpe St Andrew again, and has been asked to join their team for next season – so he is well happy. Meanwhile, Dad, Beth & me went for a bike ride around Norwich, and some of its hills – OMG. Carrow Hill near the football ground was bad, but he’s kept the worst til last, just near my school there is a road called Eastern Avenue, and it looked like it went straight up. Beth made it nearly half way before quitting, but I wouldn’t be beaten & made it…. Slowly. Dad just rode up like it was a gentle slope – mental!
We then watched the Norwich / Ipswich playoff game, which was pretty poor really (especially after we’d watched Barcelona v Bayern Munich a couple of days before – was it the same sport! As you know, it ended 1-1, so all to play for at Carrow Road next week!
Sunday was a lovely day, a real taste of Summer (we hope), and luckily we went out for a walk with Annalise & Harvey , and once again the Storm Kettle. I it nice though to have a nice hot drink, and a belly full of biscuits out in the countryside. There were some bootiful flower covered fields, and woods full of Purple flowers, right lovely! Even though the walk was about 4 miles it didn’t seem too bad, maybe my fitness work is paying off.

Golden Oldie
I had some great news on Monday, I’ve got a work experience placement at Brundall school in October (one of only two places, so I’m really pleased), now I’ve got to work out how to make the most of the time & get involved as much as possible.
Following on the good stuff, it was Dad’s birthday on Tuesday, so he’s now as old as Mum (again). We got him some ‘quality’ gifts from Poundland, and Mum got him a football coach watch, so no need to ask the ref ‘how long left’ anymore. Being a school / work day, it was a pretty quiet day, but we did at least have a Chinese take-away for tea.
Just like me, Alfie’s favourite school cooking was pin-wheels, so he decided to cook them again, this time with Chicken & Salami added, and they were delicious. I’ve definitely got competition for the best pin-wheels in the house – tres bon chef Alf.
Football training on Thursday had a taste of things to come – fitness. We did some ‘simple’ exercises – squats, leg-lifts & crunches, and we were screaming in agony. Even Dad, with his crippled back did better than many of the team – shame. I did (in the end) have more reason than anyone to scream in pain – I had the ball whacked into my bum by Beth’s dad – so hard, it left the mark of the ball on my skin – jees it hurt, I couldn’t walk for a while.
Carrying on the fitness vibe. Alf went football training again on Saturday with his possible new team – Thorpe St Andrew. Some of his school friends play for them & invited him along, he really enjoyed himself & the coach was really positive, so as they are the club Thorpe could be merging with, we could soon be one ‘happy football family’.
I didn’t sit about doing nothing either, me & Beth went with Dad for a bike ride. We went about 10 miles, at a steady pace – my reason, I was using my new bike for the 1st time, and other than getting a numb bum, it was good. Beth hadn’t been on her bike for over 2 years, so she did well to get round.
Alf’s busy day continued, not only did he have a wicked new haircut, he went to his friend Ned’s for a sleep over (with sleep only starting at 5am, it was another one of those no sleep, sleep overs!). With Alf on Xbox overload with his friends, we went out for an Indian at the restaurant in Blofield, and it was delicious. Even though I had a sore throat, my Chicken Tikka Masala was bootiful – not hot but full of flavour. Mum & Dad really enjoyed theirs as well, and with a Fererro Rosher ice cream to finish, I was stuffed.
Good to see Norwich finish the season with their first win in nearly 30 years against Fulham, which means that they will play Ipswich in the play-off semi final – OMG, what a local derby. If they win over two games, then they go to Wembley for the final, with the chance of going back to the premier league.
I saw Alfie briefly on Sunday morning, and he looked like a Zombie, clearly 3 hours sleep wasn’t enough! Later on, Nanna & Grandad came over for lunch but sadly I didn’t get to see them as I’d already arranged to meet Hannah & Rachel in the City – sorry. I didn’t have a great time though, as I was supposed to be staying round theirs, but my throat got worse & worse, and I had to get Mum to come & pick me up and take me to my sick bed………. poor old me!

Spring into Action
Another lovely week (weather wise at least), except for Alfie & Dad who got soaked in the only rain of the week – shame.
It was dry and (quite) warm for the first Rounders game of the season (against Hewitt school), who are in special measures, so if they aren’t very good at school, Rounders shouldn’t be a problem – eh. Phew, for once we were right to be confident – we won quite easily, with my mate Bryony smashing the ball nearly off the field – go Girl!
Talking of smashing the ball – I found a fab small Orange ball the last time we were practicing at Blofield, and we used it at football training, until Chloe booted it over the hedge, into the Bowls club – oops. We could see it through the hedge, but there is a massive metal fence all round, so no chance of getting in - lost forever?
Alfie had another week off football training, but spent most afternoon’s at Brundall park, so hopefully he’s keeping himself fit. I’ve now got no excuse not to as Dad got me another bike – cos mine was way too small for me. I’ve said that I’d start going out on bike rides with my buddy Beth, and maybe Bryony (although she bikes for miles, and doesn’t even get tired).
Talking of tired – did you see Britain’s Got Talent, and the Dog that can hypnotise people! Yup, that’s right a DOG, and it did. I even made Simon say nice things & fall asleep – incredible.
I didn’t want the Dog to be the only Star Pet, and thought that one our Cats deserved to be recognised. As you can see Maddie was totally thrilled to be awarded a Gold Star!
Still revision, revision, revision, so no change there. At least the Dance Club starts up again next week, so something to look forward to. I reckon it’ll be straight into planning our routines for the Summer Show – I bet you all can’t wait!

Revision, Revision, Revision
Gees, doesn't time fly when you're having so much fun (not)! This time last week we were still able to remember actually going skiing, now it just seems like an unlikely dream. I'm just hoping one day (soon) that'll I'll wake up and we're going skiing tomorrow, and the other holiday was all in my head - not goin' to happen though is it. Anyway, in trying to hold on to some of these holiday thoughts, we wanted to share some of holiday photos, but not the usual ski ones - you all know that me & Alf can ski, so we've picked some of us having our slope-side cook out - enjoy.

What is real & happening, is revision for exams - OMG, we'd been back less than a couple of hours on Monday & they were talking about it - too much, much too much already!

Science this, Science that.... Food Tech this, Food Tech that.... by June I'm going to be totally sick of it, or completely brain dead, or both!

At least we are all feeling the same, and what has Alfie got to worry about..... whether he can cook Pinwheels that taste as good as mine - but that is a toughie. his were very tasty (if I'm honest), and I wouldn't like to say which was nicer..... Alf the budding Chef eh!

We had our first football training session for a few weeks, and my friends Abbie & Jess came along, and really enjoyed themselves. It was one of the good ones where we had a laugh, especially when me, Beth & her Dad all fell over each other - classic. We were hoping to play in a tournament on Saturday, but it was cancelled at the last minute, as not enough teams had entered - shame.

Instead, me & Alfie did some shooting practice against Dad, and we scored some awesome goals - quite Lionel Messi like. Only downer was we punctured one of our good training balls on a thorn bush - oops.

On Sunday we went to watch the Thorpe Utd Ladies (who train with us on Thursday's) in the County Cup final against Acle. What a game... 2-2 at full time (although both teams had chances to win - more Thorpe than Acle), so extra time. Thorpe again had the better chances and hit the inside of the post, but somehow the ball bounced out - we couldn't believe it. So it was the dreaded penalty shootout. We'd seen them practicing only the other week (but sadly it didn't show), and they lost 4-1...... GUTTED. The Ladies were devastated, and totally shattered - we all felt proper sorry for them. We'll have to give them a massive cheer at next week's training as they were superb - and deserved to win. Just shows, you have to take your chances. Never mind, there is always next year!

So, with that it was back for tea, then back to some more food tech revision - happy days!

France Part II
We’re back (again) another 1600 mile round trip to the slopes – that’s over 3000 miles this Winter, which is nearly as far as going to New York – yes New York, in America - mad or what! At least this time we didn’t have any problems on the roads & got to sleep in a real bed, rather than the back of the car!
No ferry for us this time either – we had our first trip through the Channel Tunnel, which was a bit strange, as you drive your car onto a train – stay in your car, then zoom through the tunnel & out, in only half an hour. We were worried that we’d miss out on shopping, but luckily they have some where you wait for your train – phew.
We stayed in a lovely chalet, with the steepest stairs we’ve ever seen – more like a ladder!. Me & Annalise grabbed the best bedroom – right at the top of the house, with our own balcony & bathroom – luxury! The Boys did good as well, with their own shower room, leaving the Mum’s & Dad’s with the other (not so good rooms – haha!).
  • Day 1 – Very misty, although this wasn’t obvious until we got up the mountain, as it was ok in the village. As you know, I hate not being able to see where I’m skiing, so this was a nightmare to start with. At least we were all ‘in it’ together, with Mum being affected worst, feeling sick with the motion of skiing, not knowing what was sky & what was snow – literally you could see about 6ft in front of you – that’s all. Luckily we all got down alive, and without Mum being sick, although she stopped plenty of times & did some quality retching – lovely!

  • Day 2 – The Sun came out & it was bootiful. Fresh snow everywhere & all the mountain to make fresh tracks on – what a brilliant day. We were all blasting around everywhere, just finding new places to go off every lift.

  • Day 3 – All the way to the top – 2 miles above Sea level, and still some fresh new snow to leave our mark on. Our first taste of the funpark, and a chance to see if we still had ski ‘wings’, which of course we did – especially Alfie who really knows how to get some big air.

  • Day 4 – Our first taste of slushy snow, which was really hard work, but after a great run down a new mountain for all of us (where they had the Olympics, but before me & Alf were born). Just to show how mental it is to ski at Easter, we made a hot drink with the Storm Kettle, while Alfie & Annalise’s Dad had a paddle in a mountain stream – crazy!

  • Day 5 – We had the strangest lunch EVER – Pot Noodle’s cooked with melted snow, boiled on the storm kettle, in the middle of absolutely nowhere – anyone looking at us would have been totally confused – those crazy Engleesh! The skiing was such a laugh as well, mostly off the piste and generally messing about everywhere – a truly top day on snow.

  • Day 6 - Incredibly, already our last day (where has the time gone). No storm kettle today, instead the luxury of lunch at a mountain restaurant. It was a lovely burger & chips, but so it should have been for the cost – scary! Now I know why we make our own sandwiches most of the time!

The drive back wasn’t too bad as me & Annalise had worked out some good shopping in the town we were staying, and we weren’t disappointed – either by our purchases, or our McDonalds tea.
We were back in England just after lunch, and back home by late afternoon. Our Cats were just as pleased to see us, as we were seeing them (which isn’t always the case). Just gotta unpack now, then get ready for School tomorrow – so must dash…..

Not Just a Pretty Face
Phew…… finally, another term done! I know Mum was proper ready for a break, she didn’t even make it all the way to the end of school term & took the last few days off sick – ahhhhh! Me & Alfie did, but we felt totally dead by Friday afternoon & nearly fell asleep on the Bus home. Luckily we didn’t as god knows what our lovely friends would have done to us!
Although the week itself wasn’t the toughest, I had to write my CV & letter for work experience in October. It was really weird having to be so boasty about yourself, but that seems to be what you are supposed to do. Dad helped me make it look & read much better, so fingers crossed I at least get an interview at Brundall school (which itself will be very strange).
Talking about strange, I thought I was the best behaved one in the family, but maybe Alfie is a bit of a secret swat himself, as he’s been bringing home certificate, after certificate to show how good he is – all right, all right, calm yourself – it’s good, but not THAT good!
It was a strange weekend – no football for either me or Alfie, and no Norwich game either. However, it wasn’t completely football free – I was bag packing at Sainsbury’s to raise money for the school football trip to Sweden. We did pretty well, and my 3 hours went pretty quickly.
It was the worst night of the year for Mum, as the clocks went forward & she lost an hour of precious sleep – ahhhhhhh. At least we were on holiday, so we’d have a chance to catch up.
Clever how our phones knew they had to change, so we didn’t need to do anything. Lucky that, as we’d arranged to see Grandma & Grumps, and it wouldn’t be too good if we were an hour late. We weren’t, and had a delicious feast (including a bootiful Apple crumble made by Alfie…. with a little help from Dad).
We had a fun kick about in the garden – made a bit more difficult by the strange welly shoes I was wearing. Even though the clocks going forward supposedly meant Summer time had started, we had to run indoors as the sky went Black & it went mental – hail & horizontal rain – proper horrible!
Not too much goin’ on next week, but lots to do for our 2nd trip to France in 7 weeks – how luxurious (not when you know what the drive is like!).

Dancing & Prancing
Phew, being an 'advanced' dancer is exhausting stuff - I'm totally wrecked!

I know what you're thinking - Edie.... an advanced dancer, you've gotta be kidding - but it's true (according to my dance school anyway).

The first couple of days at school gave no hint of the punishing time ahead - good really, as it would have proper freaked me out. Alfie went to his football training as usual, but only half the players were there - has it all started to come apart already. He's still talking about changing to another club - even if it means that he's not with all his friends. Good for him - sometimes you have to think about what's best for you - which I know I don't always do (honest, it's true). It seems he's not the only one looking elsewhere, his friend Harvey is as well, so if those two left they really would struggle - hey, ho.

Our last dance rehearsal for the school performance went well, so we were all strangely looking forward to the shows, even though it meant two very long days. Thursday's show went really well - shame I missed football training (which Alfie said was fun as they concenrated on shooting). I finally got home at nearly 10 o'clock, after getting on the school bus at 8am - that's harsh.

No rest though, Friday was even more full-on. We had an indoor cricket tournament at the UEA, and so spent most of the day running around. In the end we came 3rd, only one point behind the top two teams - good fun. Then it was back to school, then a couple of hours to relax, before I was on stage again. Mum & Dad came along to watch, and it went just as well as before, so we were really pleased. Mum & Dad were really surprised to see Steven from across the road in the show (and I'd forgotten to say anything). See Alfie, it's not just for Girls - maybe you should give it a try!

So, that was another 10pm finish, and up again at 8am, as I had a football match to play - against the league leaders, Hellesdon! It was freezing...and blowing a gale - lovely. We were half asleep at the start, and were hopeless in the first 10 minutes, and let them score an easy goal. I was marking my friend Rachael again, and once again I stuck with her, and stopped her scoring (3 times out of 3 - what a defender!).

Beth and Vivian were having a right battle with their player Hope, who is really good, but gets proper angry and tries to hurt people, which makes her a real nasty player. Beth always comes off with bruises, but gives as good as she gets - go girl!

We started to create chances, then they scored another goal, which shouldn't have been allowed as you guessed it, Hope fouled our goalie, but the goal was allowed. Our goalie is soooo brave, and doesn't make anything up, so when she couldn't carry on playing we knew she was really hurt - when will our luck change! Sadly, even with the wind, we couldn't score in the 2nd half, but nor did they - so we lost 2-0. A bit of a disappointing end to the season, but hey, 2 years ago we lost 18-0, so look how far we've come.

Us girlies gave ourselves a treat of a trip to the city, to do some shopping, and some lovely noodles at Wagamamas - gorgeous. I stayed over at Hannah & Rachel's but it wasn't a late night - we were all wrecked, and asleep before midnight, as unbelievably we had ANOTHER dance show on Sunday.

A lazy Sunday, watching Rachael's boys team play. Disappointingly, she didn't even get onto the pitch, so it must have been a cold / boring time as a sub. Alfie didn't have a game so him & Dad went to the park to practice - he was still talking about some of his 'fantastic' shots hours later!

We'd been at the venue practicing our dancing for about 2hrs, when we heard the audience start to arrive - time to get serious (and a bit nervous, if I'm honest). Mum, Dad, Alfie & Nanna & Grandad were there, so we gotta get it right - no pressure eh! We needn't have worried, it went really, really well - me & Hannah were on top form (if we say so ourselves), and we were as good as the advanced class - even Mum & Nanna said so.

Even though everyone else had eaten, we were starving, so it was off to KFC for a feast of Chicken & chips - finger lickin' good. Now, al I've got to do is write my CV, for my work experience placement, and I'll be done & ready for Easter. Oh yea, call me crazy, but I'm applying to go back to Brundall school to do my work experience, as I think I'd rather do PE in a Primary school, than High School - we'll see.

15/03/2015

What about a Children's Day?
A much better week (no more injuries to report) although the cut in my mouth still hurts like hell. I have some pity for Alfie & his ulcers now - I won't complain as much next time he moans about them, cos they do hurt - BIG TIME.

The last mock exam is done - thank God, and I can stop thinking about them until May / June. I just hope I don't have one on my birthday - that would be totally unfair. Now I just need to find out how I've done, so how much more revision I need to do - gulp!

Alfie had to cook a vegetable broth at school, and his turned out like mine - pretty horrible. Not really his fault, what can you do with 3 vegetables & a stock cube! Ready, Steady....Cook would have struggled to come up with something tasty I reckon. Needed some garlic, onions & herbs I think. Never mind, at least we didn't have to eat it - so we didn't.

We did have to do some looking after ourselves though, as Mum went away to Birmingham with work. Yup, you heard that right, Mum travelling away with work - it's a first. Some conference or something..... boring! us. We could have cooked tea, but as we had football training, and it was late - there was only one thing for it - McDonalds - DELICIOUS!

With Mum still away on Friday, Dad had to step in and take me for my hospital appointment - to see the doctor about my irregular heart beat. I thought we'd be straight in, get seen, then home again - WRONG! We got there on time & couldn't even sit down in the waiting room, cos it was soooooo packed. It took 30 minutes to see someone that just took my height & weight ( it took as much time for me to undo my DrMartens!). Then we went back & waited & waited...... Dad nearly fell asleep, until finally we got called through - nearly an hour and a half after my appointment time. So was it all worth it........ well, I suppose so as the lady doctor said that there wasn't anything wrong with my heart, and it was just one of those things that could happen from time to time as my hormones sort themselves out. So after all that waiting we were out in 10 minutes & free to go.

Just enough time to get Mum her Mother's Day present - she'll love it, and back home to help Alfie with the tea - some pizza's (don't we eat healthily!). No football match on Saturday so we went to the park to practice instead, then into town for a bit of shopping. I got a new ski jacket (a lovely purple colour, and super-warm), as well as some other 'essentials'.

We had a proper tidy up at home, which we needed to do after Dad had done some painting on the stairs (and he managed to put his foot into a tray of paint - sooooooo funny!). Mum let everyone know of Facebook, just a shame we didn't get a picture.

Mum was pleased with her Mother's Day present (a box of Wine), and her card & coffee in bed - what a treat! That was the end of the morning treat, as we had to go and endure Alfie's team play football - painful (again). They were 5-0 down at half time then started to play - Alfie set up Harvey to score & they created a few chances, showing that they can play. Alfie & Harvey did well, but it just showed that they haven't got enough good players, and ended up losing 8 or 9 to 1. Never mind guys, only one more game, then you can decide what you are going to do next season.

Nanna & Grandad came over, and saw some of Alfie's game. We had a lovely lunch - Toad in the Hole, with Onion gravy, and a GORGEOUS sticky toffee pudding for dessert, with toffee sauce - BOOTIFUL.

So, it looks like everyone will be in for a treat on our skiing holiday, maybe I'll cook that again. It's weird to think that in 3 weeks we'll be in the snow (hopefully), especially as it has been getting warmer at home - just gotta put the drive outta my mind!

08/03/2015

Mental & Physical Punishment!
God, what a week. I'm totally shattered.

We had a week of mock exams at school, which included Chemistry (my least favourite subject), or certainly the one I'm least good at. So you can guess what my week was like...... revise, exam, revise, exam - HORRENDOUS! It wouldn't have been so bad if we'd actually been taught all the stuff in the exams, but NO.... some things no one knew - genius, or what.

We all got proper stressed over the exams, even though they weren't the real ones - I'm going to be a right mess next year! So, just a few more to go, then it's all over - til June, then we've got some more - can't wait!!!!

I still had time to squeeze in a bit of cooking - an interesting pasta dish with sweetcorn and other stuff from the cupboard in - a bit of an experiment, but it sort of worked (I liked it anyway).

As expected, Alfie has been going Xbox crazy on his new game, weirdly we can now be online, playing the same game, on different Xbox's in our own bedrooms - what about if we bumped into each other in the virtual world - freaky!

I got most of the day off school on Thursday as we had a 5-a-side football tournament - a nice break from the exams actually. We should have done better, but we weren't concentrating & lost our first two games. Even though we then drew or won all our other games we were knocked out. At least we got home early, as we didn't have to go back to school.

Back to football action on Saturday morning with a very early kick off against Sprowston. It was only last season that we really didn't look forward to playing against them, as we knew we'd be beaten, but not anymore - we had a real chance of winning.

The pitch was rock hard & the ball was bouncing everywhere, and if I'm honest I wasn't playing great. Even though Sprowston scored, we got a goal back just before half time, after hitting the post twice, and we felt we could at least get a draw - then it all changed..........

I had the ball kicked in my face, which made my nose pour with blood - so of course the game should be stopped, right. Clearly not if you are Sprowston, and the ref's Sister plays in the team. As I stood bleeding, with my team coming to help me, Sprowston carried on the game & scored. Everyone on the Thorpe team went MENTAL (I didn't know at the time as I was in soooo much pain from my nose & lip). The ref clearly didn't know what to do... so did nothing! Nor did the Sprowston manager, who could have asked his team to let us score, and restart the game at 2-2, but no - clearly they have a win at ANY cost mentality - very sad! Well, as you can imagine, that was pretty much the end of that - the team really didn't care anymore, and we ended up losing 4-1. My nose finally stopped bleeding after about 10 minutes & I was a right mess.

Things were pretty tense at the end. The ref just walked off, they didn't do player of the match, and their manager didn't seem to understand what all the fuss was about - what a LOSER! That was the weekend (and my face) pretty ruined -thanks!

The rest of the weekend was totally forgettable, so we won't waste your time, and dribble on, so see ya later.

Tough Return to Reality
Unbelievable..... was it only just over a week ago that we were skiing? At least we've been able to get some sleep in our own beds, rather than the back seat of the car - LOVELY. I think we've all just about mentally recovered (especially me, who ended up texting Nanna from the French traffic jam, telling her that we were lost, and would never get to the ferry on time!). Looking back, I'm not sure exactly what I thought she'd be able to do, but it seemed a good idea at the time.

We'd only just managed to get our homework done on time, only to find that some of our teachers weren't there, so we could have taken longer & no one would have known - typical! I can't get out of it all though as I've got some mock exams next week, so I'd better do some revision, especially as its science (not my best subject). I do remember reading somewhere that the human body is 80% water. If this is true, when we get really cold, would we freeze solid - and could we then get thawed out? Not sure that's going to be much use though - so better just try and remember some useful facts / information!

Alfiie's got a good term ahead as he's got both swimming & cooking, although obviously not together (that wouldn't be to clever, obviously!). Looks like they are using the same recipe's as I had, cos he's starting off with fruit salad - I remember it well. So, if has 6 weeks of practice, we should be in for a right feast at the chalet, over Easter.

It was good to get back to dance, and practice for our performance which is coming up fast - it'll be fine, I'm sure. Look, if Madonna can fall over at the Brit awards, we can make a few mistakes, surely.

Shame that Football training was cancelled due to the ground being waterlogged - it couldn't have been that bad, as we still had our school training. The groundsman needs to remember its a football pitch, not a bowling green! At least it meant that the pitch was in good condition for our match on Saturday, against Long Stratton. We were a bit slow at the start of the game, and nearly let in an early goal - thanks Jess for a great save. Slowly we started to play some better football, and by half time we were winning 4-0. Luckily we had 3 subs, and with them all playing in the 2nd half, we scored another 5 goals, so a 9-0 win in the end. Next week we've got Sprowston, who could still win the league, so they'll be really trying extra hard to win - should be a good game.

Talking of good games, there were 2 on Sunday. First Alfie's team. Although they lost 3-0, Dad said it was the best they'd played for some time. Alfie starting really battling in the 2nd half & at one point had to be spoken to by the ref (go Alf), as the player who was marking him said he'd caught him across the face with his arm. Alfie swears he didn't touch hiim. The 2nd game was Norwich v Ipswich, at Carrow Road, which Norwich won 2-0, with a great goal from Bradley Johnson - how do they kick the ball so hard? Incredibly, Norwich are now up to 3rd place in the league, and have won their last 6 games. Maybe they will go straight back up to the Premiership afterall - if they do, it certainly didn't look possible just before Christmas.

Gotta go, I've got revision to do & Alfie's got a new Xbox game, so that'll be him shut in his room for the next week!......................

Too much snow!
We went, we skied, and we're back....... finally!

OMG, what a week we've just had - how did we squeeze it all in. As we said last time, we were going to leave to go skiing straight after the last day of school, and we did just that. Me and Alfie got off the bus, got home, changed & within 30 minutes we were off - and the adventure began! We got to Dover, got the ferry, stayed in an ok hotel & did the usual drive & drive & drive - boooooring! At least we got a McDonalds for tea & got to stock up on Pain au Chocolat (all 80 of them!). The fun began about 20 miles from the chalet as it had been snowing quite a bit, and the roads got more & more tricky. Just before Dad decided it was time for the Snow Socks (yup, socks for your car tyres, which amazingly worked really well), we'd had a couple of little skids, which freaked me & Mum out. We ended up driving very slowly up to the chalet from Colmars, which took a while, but we got there in one piece. Only Ben was still awake (somehow) as they'd driven through the night to get to the chalet, so he should have been sound asleep - or maybe he was actually sleep walking / talking!

Monty, Connie were very excited to see us (thanks Dad for telling them to wake us up!). One big bonus of the snow the night before - fantastic skiing in lovely fresh stuff, which was over knee deep in places. We all fell over in the deep stuff, but we just didn't care! Monty & Connie went to ski school in the morning & came out with us in the afternoon, which gave everyone the chance to do a bit of what they wanted to - messing about mainly.

We had two days in Seignus, and then went to La Foux to see what the snow was like there, and it was just as much fun. we spent as much time off the piste as on it (which we'd never been able to do before). They even had their 'secret' lift open that takes you to a place that is all off-piste, which was incredible, floating through all this snow.... then, splat - face first into a huge pile of soft fluffy snow - brilliant.

Then we went right over to Pra Loup, and although there wasn't as much untouched snow, they'd made lots of twisty tracks & jumps for us to play on, so a different but still fab day.

We were munching our way through our Pain au Chocolat (with a little help from our Cousins - gotta keep your energy levels up!). Alfie was also getting through his now traditional bottle of Rose wine. We even helped with the cooking. I made a Lasagne and Alfie did the Raccalette, and no one was poisoned - result!

Having no internet & no tv (just some DVD's) was a killer - thank got for the games on our Ipad & phones, otherwise we would have gone mental. I think we've got monty & Connie hooked on them as well now, so I reckon I know what they'll want on their Christmas list - sorry!

Talking about gadgets, Dad had got himself a GoPro camera. If you don't know what it is, it's a tiny camera that you can attach to pretty much anything and take amazing video pictures, and we got some really cool stuff that we'll have to sort out, for everyone to see. In the meantime, here are a few 'normal' photo's I took, of our amazing week in the snow.

Sadly our last day of skiing soon came & went (Monty's first trip all the way to Pra Loup), and a first for all of us, the Source de Verdon run, that we'd never seen open before - long & fun, with amazing views.

We all helped tidy up & we said our goodbye's at 10am on Saturday, and got to Digne, no problem, then the 'fun' began. Between Digne & Genoble is a mountain pass of just over 1000m to get over, and near the top the rain had turned to snow (lots of snow). Again, luckily we had the Snow Socks (although poor Dad had totally numb hands at the end of putting them on as the side of the road was all full of slush. I got out to help & got covered in slush spray from passing cars (that had already put their snow chains on) - thanks. So, we finally got up & over the mountain, and expected that to be the end of the snow - HOW WRONG WE WERE!

We finally got to Grenoble about 2 hours later than expected & were sort of looking forward to the boring motorways, cos at least they are quick. However, just outside Grenoble, the motorway was closed, which we assumed was for an accident, so just a junction or so. We joined the diversion, and crawled along to the next junction - closed, then the next junction - closed, so finally we had to accept that we'd have to follow all the other traffic on the French 'back-roads', all the way to Lyon. It took forever, and I was really scared as I thought we were totally lost, and would never get home! We finally managed to rejoin the motorway nearly 7 hours later than we should been!!!!!!!!

What this meant was that we'd have no time to stop anywhere and have sleep, so the car would have to be our bedroom (hardly the most comfortable!). Dad drove until about midnight, when he had to stop & have a rest himself (so I think we all dozed for maybe an hour and a half, then we were off again, this time Mum doing a bit of driving. Its strange to see other cars / lorries on the road in the middle of the night, just showing that things never really stop - including a similarly tired looking school kids going back to Yorkshire, having a stop at 4am.

We finally reached Calais at breakfast time on Sunday morning, only to find there was no earlier ferry, so we'd have a near 3hr wait on the dock -  unbelievable! At least we could sort of rest a bit, and eat some more junk! The rest of the journey was fine. Nice smooth crossing, and home in less than 3 hours from Dover. So, get this - from the time we left the chalet on Saturday, it had taken us 30 HOURS to get home, and we had school the next day, but that'll have to wait, as I'm too tired to type anymore......................

Kings of Kingswood
Another year, another Geography trip - maybe my 2nd & last - but a good one (as I knew it would be). When Dad picked up Beth, I thought she was going away for a week or more - her case was massive (I'm sure I've taken less stuff skiing before!). We got the room we wanted (no, not a particular room, like number 7, just one with the right number of beds in, for me & my mates. We had a really good time (and yes Dad, we did do some work!). Anyone who'd been before (like me), had to do some extra stuff, which I wasn't expecting, but at least it was interesting - about coastal erosion, the tides & sea defences, so nothing too bad. We'd each brought some snacks, so we ate well (between meals), even though the food was alright, you can't beat a Haribo feast!

Me, Beth, Hannah & Rachel all had a great time, no major trauma's or fall-outs, which is always a bonus, when you're stuck together for 3 days. There is no doubt about it, time out of school does go more quickly, as there was no way it would of been Friday so quick - not fair. We were back before we knew it, but at least we had the weekend to recover (even though we'd not been going to bed too late at Kingswood - honest).

I was really pleased that we didn't have a football match on Saturday, as I didn't wake up until 9 o'clock as Dad & Alfie were going out. Alfie had been invited to go training with Thorpe St Andrew FC, by a friend at school, just to see if he likes it - in case he decides to change teams at the end of the season, which he is saying he wants to do.

Does it really come as a surprise? Being in a team that he says doesn't really play as a team, and doesn't seem to be learning or improving is getting him down, and he's not enjoying it as much as he used to. So, how was Thorpe St Andrew? much more strict, and serious, which was a good thing - but he thought the coach could have been a bit more positive. Dad watched the last few minutes & said that Alfie looked very impressive, so should get into their team, no problem - if he wanted to.

Just to prove his point, on Sunday, Alfie's team lost 7-1, but really shouldn't have let in half the goals they did, it was just basic stuff (although I didn't see it, I was still in bed - again). Believe it or not, I didn't get dressed properly all weekend, what a slob eh! Sorry, I got distracted, Alfie played in midfield again, so better than before, although he spent lots of time defending, doing some really good battling. Dad said the best bit of the game, for Blofield was when Alfie dribbled past 3 of their players, and should of had a shot. Instead he passed it, and whoever it was messed it up!

I can't remember if I mentioned before, that Dad & Alfie were going to the Chalet next week, well Mum's now decided that she wants to go, which means I'm going too. Shouldn't moan really, as we've now got 2 skiing holidays in 8 weeks! then I've got Sweden, then Florida, all in less than a year - lucky, lucky me!.

Gotta go, as we're at school next week, then we leave for France straight after school on Friday, so I'd better start packing.

Chilly Out!
Still here.....and no return of the wild heart beat, so that's good. That didn't mean that I got out of having my blood test - which was just as hideous as I expected. Admittedly, it didn't hurt too much, it was more thinking of my blood gushing out! I did feel really weird - hot, sweaty and light headed. I got up a bit quick after & nearly fell over - the nurse made me sit back down for 5 mins, but its over - phew. Now we have to wait, although I can't see how testing my blood is going to tell them anything about my heart - unless I'm missing something.

Otherwise a pretty boring week all round, although I have now started to cook tea on Monday night. This week's feast was a delicious Chicken & pasta salad - one of my favourites. Why am I being so kind? Well, it's good practice for when me & Annalise have to cook when we go skiing, and it's gotta get me in Mum & Dad's good books - hasn't it. No sign of Alfie wanting to get involved in the kitchen, so still not sure what to expect from him & Harvey, if they have to cook for us.

Football practice was freezing, but as it turned out this was good preparation for our match on Saturday. OMG, it was soooooo cold, about 3 degrees when we kicked off. We were playing against Bradwell (who beat Hellesdon), so we knew it would be tough. We were a bit slow at the start & were lucky not to let in an early goal. Then we thought we'd got a chance - a penalty. Bryony took it but their goalie made an incredible save. Then 5 mins later we got a free kick near to the penalty area & Chloe had a shot.... another incredible save. Half time 0-0. The second half was very even with not too many chances. I went up for a corner, and got the ball on the edge of the penalty area, hit a great shot that was going in until...... yup, the third amazing save. Then finally we did score, and we thought we were going to win, but no. With only 5 mins left, we let one of their good players get a bit too close, and they scored. Final score 1-1, which I reckon is pretty good.

I was feeling really good, so it was even better that I was going into town with my friends, for a bit of shopping, and some food at Wagamma's, which is lovely noodle stuff - DELICIOUS.

Alfie was desperate to play his game on Sunday, but we had lots of rain on Saturday night and the pitch was too wet to play on. As it was cancelled at the last minute, him & Dad still went & had a bit of a kick about, so he got some football, but not much.

We might be getting some snow any day now - perfect for my Geography trip to Kingswood. Can't wait, 2 nights away with my pals (and of course some schoolwork!).

Broken Heart?
Phew, I'm lucky to be here. You know that I mentioned about my heart beating really fast for no reason, well it happened again - and didn't stop quickly like it normally does. Mum, being Mum, decided that she needed to come and get me (I was at Sainsbury's before football training), and hauled me straight to the Doctors. Again they hooked me up & everything was pretty normal. They did give me some tablets though, and said that if I took them, and nothing happened, then I needed to call an ambulance - whoa, that sounds serious!

So, maybe that blood test (that I'm just blocking out of my mind at the moment) will be a good thing in the end, if it shows what's up. What do they say.... No pain, no gain! they'd better be bloody right if they want to go sticking needles in my arm.... yuk, yuk - move on.

I suppose it could be worse, my friend Hannah might be having some Acupuncture for her back. What the hell would I be like with that - Edie, the human pin cushion. I don't think I can think of anything more horrendous - that would be like in a horror film!

It was my last free Saturday for a while, as football starts again next week, so at least I got to forget about it all the needle yuk for a few hours, as me & Mum went to Beccles to get our hair cut. We met up with Nanna as well, as she got me a lovely smelly candle, perfect for my bedroom. I was trying to grow my hair, but the lady took a great big lump off the ends - shock! Hardly a skinhead, but noticeably shorter than before. Maybe I need to brush it a bit more often, if the ends were all messed up.

I went to see Alfie play on Sunday, and OMG, what a pitch - it was like a Cow field.... sooooo muddy. He played really well (actually in midfield for once), and it made a real difference. The team wasn't defending all the time, as he was making chances, but unfortunately Harvey couldn't score. They lost 2-0, but it was the best the team had played for quite a while - maybe, just maybe, if they play the same formation again they might be able to grab a win - even if it is just one all season!

So, it looks like the great start for the new Norwich manager is over - losing at home, oh dear. Just goes to show, even the professionals play rubbish sometimes! Let's hope that makes us extra determined to play well against Bradwell next Saturday, as they are the team to beat at the moment - but I believe we can........ GO THORPE.

Looking at the weather, seems like there is more snow to come in France (and maybe in the UK as well), Lets just home its not too cold for Football, or my trip to Kingswood in a couple of weeks, or it could be proper chilly by the coast.

18/01/2015

Winter Walk
It was Mum's birthday...... lovely eh! Just means now it's now mine next (after Dad's!) - not that I'm wishing time away or anything.

At least when you get to Mum's age you don't expect too much fuss (I hope), as she certainly didn't get it. Well, when it's a school / work day, and football training, there isn't much time left for wild celebrating, although we did have Fish & Chips for tea - how crazy are we!

I've now got my 4th holiday of the year sorted. Well, it's actually a school Geography trip, so of course it will be an important learning experience, not a crazy 3 days with my friends - honest! It's hardly exotic, we're going to near Cromer, so no need to get too jealous.

We had an 'interesting' friendly match against Bungay - not only was it freezing cold, and the pitch rock hard in places, it decided to snow while we were playing. Normally, we all love snow, but when you are trying to see a football with snow in your eyes, its not so great. It was good to play again, as it seemed ages. We did ok, but didn't play our best. Still, we managed to win 2-1, against a team that play in the U16 league, so not bad.

Alfie's team didn't have a game on Sunday, so I don't need to tell you about another defeat! Rather than waste the day, Mum decided that she wanted to go on a walk at Southwold, and managed to persuade Debbie, Kerry, Annalise & Harvey to come along. As you can see it was a lovely day (so we have to be honest, going out for walks isn't always a bad thing).

We had a really nice time. The walk wasn't too long (about 4 miles), we stopped and made a cup of tea on the beach with the Storm Kettle, and at the end we had some lovely food at a pub by the harbour.

Talking about snow reminded us to have a look at what it looks like in France, and phew.... some lovely fresh white stuff has been falling, in Allos & the 3 valleys. Only 10 weeks to go now til we go - can't wait.

Finally, as you can tell, cos I'm writing this - my heart is still beating, and the doctors didn't find anything wrong with it. It's not all good news though, they want to do a BLOOD TEST, which means sticking a needle in my arm - OMG, that's gonna be a nightmare - scared already!

Right Couple of Crocks
Whoa..... back to school with a bang! these 5 day working weeks are a killer. I reckon that the teachers all had a rubbish Christmas & wanted to take it out on us - with lots of really hard work, straight away - harsh!

Anyone who knows me might have hear me say that my heart sometimes beats a bit funny - going really fast for no reason, then slowing down again. It's not always when I'm doing something, like Football, so it doesn't make sense. Anyway, I finally got to borrow this machine that monitors your heartbeat, which I had to wear for a whole day & night - not the best night's sleep I've ever had if I'm honest, with this box digging into my side. I did have football training that day, so it'll be interesting to see what the results are - which I should find out next week sometime. Dad reckons that they'll have to give me a massive electric shock to sort my heart out - but he would say something like that, wouldn't he!

By the end of the week me & Alfie were wasted - all we could do was play on the Xbox (which is now even more fun as my friends Hannah & Rachael have one), so we just spent our time running around shooting & killing each other - fantastic fun. I was pretty stupid though. I was winning by miles, but they persuaded me that I needed to stop, near the finish, so that we could get the most points. REALLY, they just drove straight past & won - THEY LIED! I'll never trust those sneaky girls again - shame on you!

OMG, it was so lucky that we didn't have a football match on Saturday, as the wind & rain were horrendous. I didn't get a totally lazy day though, as we were bag packing in Sainsburys, to raise money for our School Football team Sweden trip. Beth even came along, and it was her birthday - what dedication. Hope she enjoyed going to the cinema, even if she did watch Paddington (how old is she?).

Alfie had a game on Sunday - could it be a case of.... new year, new team? Sadly........ no. They lost again, 5-1, but it could have been so different if Harvey had scored the penalty early in the 1st half - never mind. There was one bright(er) moment - Alfie scored. Although he couldn't really miss, as he was so close - he had to be in the right place, at the right time, so good for him.

We are a right bunch of cripples at the moment, me with my heart, and my back - which I'm seeing someone about next week (finally). And Alfie now joins in with a pulled / torn muscle in his leg, that he made worse by playing the whole match in pain - silly Boy. So, he's now all strapped up and I'm waiting to see if I've got a heart and/or need a new spine!

Incredibly, Mum went to the Gym (yes, you read it correctly - the gym). Someone she knew invited her to go, and it was free, or cheap, so she went - and survived! Same again next week?

We weren't half as energetic, unless you count football on the Xbox! We did have our rooms to tidy though (big job), and homework to do, so really little time for anything else.

Mum's birthday next week - the grand old age of 46, so we'd better be kind & gentle, for at least one day.

04/01/2015 Happy New Year

Hello 2015
Mmmm, so much for Christmas spirit - clearly a few days rest was all we could expect. It was proper hats, coats & gloves weather, when we arrived in Dunich to see Robert & Rowan. At least we warmed up a bit throwing endless sticks & stones for their Dog to chase. We were all starving when we got back to the car, so it was fab that we were having lunch at the pub. Alfie had a massive Fish & Chips, and I had Chicken (which was ok, but I didn't really like the sauce) - yes, I know, I'm fussy!

We reckoned we'd earned a couple of vegging days, so that's what we had  - lovely.

That set us up nicely for New Years Eve. We'd had friends over during the day, but planned to have the evening at home to ourselves. It turned out to be a very quiet one - Dad went to bed at about half 10, Alfie nearly made it, but went to bed at half 11, leaving just me & Mum. I made a bit of a mistake & left Mum on her own downstairs (I was Skyping my friends in my room), so Mum was all on her own at New Year, which made her sad - sorry.

Another year, another walk. This time with Annalise & Harvey, and our friends Bethan, and the twins Jack & James. I was well windy out on the marshes, and very muddy. Alfie nearly went right into a puddle - proper funny. He did make a big fuss when Dad broke some ice over his head - wimp. Again, another pub feast at the end of the walk (we could definitely get used to this), specially when the food is this gorgeous - home made lasagne - bootiful.

Again, we'd earned a rest, so we sort of had one - me with my Girls (Hannah & Rachel), and Alfie with Joe & Ali (playing football with Dad)We've all started playing Xbox games online against each other, and its mental - especially the shooting games, when you quickly find out who your friends are, as they shoot you in the back!

Finally, how about this for a tough decision - do homework (that needs to be done), or go for a walk - impossible eh! You're not going to believe it, but we both chose homework - mainly cos it was the last day before we has to finish it (oops). That didn't stop Mum & Dad going out, and clearly having a lovely time - Playing with their new Storm Kettle, and train spotting (soooo jealous - not!).

So, that's it - gotta get our school stuff together & get ready for early mornings again - not good.
