Football Transfer Exclusive

Amazingly, Mum's had her new phone over a week, and she's not lost it yet! Not only that, but she's actually getting to use it a bit more herself, as we've got a bit bored of the games on it now, and we reckon she has sent more texts in the past week, than in the rest of her life - Wow, proper 21st Century Mum!!!!!

School was OK, nothing really to say, definitely nothing to say about the cross country race - I didn't feel very well, after a really good start, and finished, but I'm not saying in what place - so we'll move on.

The big news of the week was Alfie & Jo going to train with Blofield Utd FC, by special request. Dad was away in York so me & Mum had to go and watch at this new 5-a-side football place. Luckily Dad came along just after they'd started, so me & him went home while Mum stayed - as she'd never seen him play before. She couldn't believe how much running about he did, and all the skills & tricks he had - it's all that practice in the front room obviously.

Saturday we went for a haircut, which took ages as Mum was having her hair coloured - boring!, but at least we were round Kerry's house, so we played about a bit, then came home to watch Norwich City FC on TV, against Chelsea. We expected them to lose, but amazingly they drew 0-0 (thanks to the very hopeless Torres!).

On Sunday Dad had to go into work, and Alfie had his first match for Blofield Utd, at home to Scole, all the way from near Diss. It was pretty good fun. Mum got to watch Alfie play, and they did really well, winning 5-0, and I got to mess around with Annalise & some of her friends, that I also know - I'd actually go again (amazing).

Sunday afternoon was the usual very boring stuff - tidying up & homework, and then what do you know - it was time for bed & School again. Only 3 more weeks til Half-Term, then skiing - but still hardly any snow (now we are getting worried!).

15/01/2012 43 Years Old

Phones 4 U

Well what d' ya know - Mum is once again the oldest in the house - 43, Happy Birthday Mum.

Not really much to say about our week at School, other than I made some delicious Pin-Wheels in cookery. They are like rolled up pizza's, and were sooooo tasty. So good in fact, that of the eleven I made only four made it home - yum. Alfie & Jo has been invited to football training with Blofield Utd & Harvey on a Wednesday night - no Girls allowed though - booooooo. So, we'll have to see if they give up on Soccer Stars Elite, or do them both. Blofield (or rather Harvey's Mum Debbie) helped to get them in so they'd better show all their best tricks & skills!

So, what can we say about Mum's special day (and on a Saturday as well - bonus). So she had a lie in (as usual), but not as long as usual, as we were going to Milton Keynes to have a ski on their indoor snow slope.

There was just enough time for Mum to open her presents, and she got really lucky - some vouchers for Fat Face & White Stuff (boring), but what we were waiting for was her iPhone. No sooner was it out of the box, we were playing with it - Mum could hardly get her hands on it - what is it like her birthday present or something!

Anyway, we loaded the car with all our stuff (it was just like going skiing), said goodbye to Pushca, as Grandma & Grumps were back from their holiday & picking her up while we were out - she is such an easy Cat to look after - all she does is sleep (what an easy life), and we were off.

It seemed to take forever, but only about 2 hours really - helped by our phones giving us step by step instructions - amazing, and then, there it was , the big dome thing in the middle of Milton Keynes. We had a bit of lunch (lovely KFC) & hit the slope. It was a bit like Allos (it was cold & there was some snow), but there were lots of other people there, all getting in our way - not like Allos at all. We had a good time, messing about, and can't wait until next month & the real thing.

Just over the road were loads of shops, so it would be rude not to take a look. Outside was this fab market, with some really interesting stalls selling all sorts of strange fruit & veg, that we'd never seen before - Yams & stuff - weird. You all know Dad likes a bargain, well how about this - a new Duck feather quilt for Alfie & it was only £5! I would have had one as well but they didn't have any more.

Never mind, as we decided to finish off the day with a trip to Ikea (where I did get a quilt - not Duck though), and we made Dad spend a bit more of his money - what an expensive day out its been. It was a quiet ride home as we were all pretty tired, and straight to bed, as it was nearly half past 10 by the time we got in.

A lazy Sunday (no ski racing for Mum & me - she was still asleep, long after it started). Watched Norwich get an amazing away win at West Brom - still 9th! We went to the park with Alfie's friends Jo & Stephen, hoping that Nanna & Grandad would be there when we got back (which they nearly were). No Tilly the Dog to make a fuss over, but a lovely time, sitting around, with Mum trying to show off her new phone - just make sure you don't lose it!!!!!  .

Phone Envy

Whoa, where did Christmas & New Year go........ its all starting to feel just like any other week, not just the 1st week of another year.

Just before we went back to school, we got the chance to see Grandma & Grumps, and stretch out Christmas just a bit further - as we'd not seen them, so lucky us, some more presents. I got a lovely jewellery box, a groovy Norwich City t-shirt & a some cake decorating stuff - fab. Alf got a bag for his football boots & a really smart Black Norwich City t-shirt. Mum got a spice grinding thing for the Kitchen, and Dad got some wood chisels - they were pleased, so whatever!

Mum & Dad went back to work, so we had a bit of time with Stephen, Daniel & Adam, who were back from Scotland, and wanted to show us how good they were on their new scooters. They are well weird as you have to sort of skate with your feet to get them to go forward - takes some getting used to.

That just left a short week at school, which was good, as the first day getting up at 6 in the morning was horrendous! Definitely glad I got my new phone as lots of my friends got them as well, so we spend every spare minute on them (obviously).

Mum has got well jealous of our phones & the things that they can do, so what do you think she wants for her birthday - yup a phone. Not just any phone though, she wants an I-Phone....... we're thinking that for someone who never has her phone with her, or if she does its never charged, or got credit - what's the point. Middle-age crisis (whatever that is) - Dad told me to put it.

We might be going skiing on some real snow this weekend (no, I haven't suddenly become some amazing weather forecaster, but you never know) - mum wants to go to Milton Keynes, and the real snow indoor ski slope, and Annalise & Harvey might be coming with us, so it could be like a mini day in Allos..

01/01/2012 Happy New Year

Another One Gone!

Whoosh.....that's the sound of another year rushing past - unbelievable. Happy New Year to all our friends. This time last year, I'd never been to High School, and Annalise & Harvey's house was a pile of rubble (as they'd just finished knocking the old barn down! Luckily when we went to see them on Boxing Day, it has been re-build, and lookin' very, very smart indeed. Annalise has got her own bathroom, just like me & Harvey has got this really cool upstairs bit to his bedroom. Their house has got TV's everywhere - nearly in every room, as well as the biggest projector screen TV we've ever seen - it was massive. We had to earn the right to slob out, so we went for a walk across the marshes which was actually quite nice as it was very mild - I didn't really need my new ski jacket (but it looked well cool!). After we got back and had a lovely tea, we watched the film Transformers on the big screen - WOW, not only was the screen big, but the sound was too - we must get Dad to sort something out at home!!!

On Tuesday we went into Norwich, to get covers for our phones. We didn't stay too long though as it started to get very busy - just enough time to get what we wanted, Mum to buy some more clothes that she doesn't need, and have some chips on the Market. The rest of the week was pretty boring - Dad was back at work, and we were just counting down the hours until our Cousin's Robert & Rowan were coming to stay, on Friday. One thing we weren't look forward to.... tidying up. O.M.G, Friday was just tidy up, tidy up, tidy up.....all day - BORING!!!! At last, the house was transformed, and they arrived - party time!!!!!!

The next two days were fab. First New Years Eve, and a trip to see the Seals on the Beach at Horsey. Robert & Rowan hadn't seen them before & couldn't believe how many there were - including the little Pup's that were just lying on the beach - sometimes looking like they were dead (we hope they weren't). Still, there are only so many Seals you can look at, until they all start looking the same - so we found something else to entertain us - 'Sand Dune Stunts' (and I think you'll agree, pretty impressive!). After a well deserved drink at the Pub, we got home & saw their holiday pictures from Florida - it looks amazing... Giraffe wandering around outside your hotel - cool, or what.

We had already decided that we'd be staying up until Midnight, and despite the Adults best efforts we made it... just. There were a few Fireworks outside, but nothing like the big ones in London, or Australia. So, another day, another year, and hopefully another fun packed one. Crazy Masey the Dog had been on the lead a lot of the walk near the Seals so we took her out to Burlingham Woods for a proper run around, and she went everywhere - 10 times as far as we went! Dad even managed to squeeze in a couple of Geocaches, so he was happy - nearly 300 finds now.

Just time for some more fun on the Wii, while dinner was prepared, and a delicious one it was - Duck, Ginni Fowl & Poosin (whatever they are) - it was meat & it tasted nice!!!!. Then it was time for Robert & Rowan to go home.....booooo. We did hear them talking about camping in May, so we've got that to look forward to.

So, only a day or so left of our Christmas holiday, before its back to School, which means its about 7 weeks til our skiing holiday - fingers crossed for a bit more snow in Allos, as they're going to need it before we get there.

25/12/2011 Merry Xmas

It's CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, after weeks (no - months of waiting), its here..... Christmas. Still no white Xmas for us, looks like we'll have to go skiing one year for that. Saying that, they only had snow at the chalet two weeks ago, before that it was grass, not too good for skis!

The week before Christmas seemed to go on forever. We'd finished School & there was nothin' to do - just get bored and annoy each other (which we do sooooo well). At least on Christmas Eve Dad was off work (cos it was a Saturday), so we could leave Mum asleep & go into the City nice & early - before it got too busy. We got a few bits & pieces, had a lovely cake from the Bakery, got some sweets from the amazing new sweet shop where the ski shop used to be, and were back, just as Mum was having her first cup of Coffee!!!!!

So then it was just a case of watching the clock creep slowly round - we're sure it goes extra slow on Xmas Eve, just to give Santa a bit more time to deliver all the presents. At least we got a yummy tea - Dad went out & got Chinese. At last it was bedtime, but we still didn't feel tired (which wasn't good), and although we tried & tried, our eyes kept springing open. We did finally fall asleep (at what felt like the middle of the night - probably about half eleven), and were awake again at about half six.

We messed about in our rooms, with our stocking presents until just after seven, and then we just had to wake Mum & Dad up - really they were already wide awake, but just pretending!

Wow, downstairs there was lots of extra stuff that wasn't there before, and we just had to get stuck into opening our pile of presents - as always we were soooo lucky.

O.M.G, I got the Blackberry phone that I really wanted & Alfie got the Samsung phone that he'd asked for. We spent ages working out all the groovy things they could do, like text each other - when we are sitting opposite - vital! I got a lovely new ski jacket & Hollister top, Alfie got a punchbag (hopefully to stop me getting a beating), a remote controlled car & a football game.We didn't open them all, as we were going to Nanna & Grandad's for dinner & wanted to save some to open with them.

Tilly was especially pleased to see us & did a good job of cleaning Alfie's face for him - nice. We couldn't wait until after dinner to attack our presents, so we all had another ripping frenzy & opened everything in no-time.

We had a lovely dinner & all felt soooo full - only one thing for it, a walk on the beach. Mmmmmm, I was hoping to just sit in front of the TV & rub my belly, but no...... we all had to get dressed up & walk into the howling wind, down on the beach. How / why Dogs don't feel the cold I don't know - Tilly went in the Sea - crazy thing! After we'd nearly walked to Kessingland, we came back (with the wind behind us) - lovely & could sit down & relax - phew.

As you know, at Christmas you can't do nothing for long, as sure enough, it was soon time to eat again. There was just enough room for a few more tasty things, and we only stopped just before we exploded. After that we only had just enough time to tidy everything up & drive home, before it was time for bed, and a lovely sleep, to make up for what we'd missed out on the night before - cos we were seeing Annalise & Harvey, for the 1st time at their new house - how exciting!

18/12/2011

School's Out for.....Christmas!

We're sooooo EXCITED!!!!! - its less than a week til Christmas, and now there is no more School until next year - amazing.

Unbelievably, I still had to do Cross Country on my last day of term - how cruel is that. I got my second best time so far, so I was quite happy, and much warmer, than when I started! I got to leave just after lunchtime for some reason, while Alfie didn't get to finish until his normal time - strange.

It seems that the adults just spend their days & nights going for Christmas meals - Dad going to at least 2 of them at lunchtime, and Mum a couple in the evening - no wonder they are not as slim as they used to be. I wonder if that's what they call 'Middle Age Spread', cos its clearly not a type of Butter or Marg!

We spent Saturday out & about with Dad - first the boring stuff, going to Screwfix & B&Q, then at least we got to go to the bakery for sausage rolls / pizza & cake, as well as a look round Poundland - we know how to spoil ourselves! It was then the usual Saturday chore of bedroom cleaning & listening to Norwich on the radio. Again they did very well, drawing 1-1 away against Everton (which Dad tells us is in Liverpool), you'd never guess it would you. John Ruddy made some really good saves & Grant Holt scored a great goal. They've now got 20 points - halfway to safety, as they reckon if you get 40 points you shouldn't get relegated.

I did think about going skiing on Sunday morning, but in the end just didn't fancy it - maybe I should, as we were set to work as house slaves - hoovering & cleaning, which was well boring. At least things got better in the afternoon as our Cousin's Sophie & Naomi came round to see us. They'd been to see Nanna & Grandad & wanted to pop in before they went back home. They are looking forward to Christmas just like we are so that's 4 guaranteed excited kids on the 25th.

Just before they were going to leave, disaster... all our lights went out (and stayed off). This turned into the longest power cut we'd ever known - about 40 minutes, but it seemed much longer. Luckily we found some torches and candles, so we at least had some light, but not enough to really do anything - it must have been just like the olden days - we'll have to ask Grandad all about it when we see him next!

Oh, before I forget, I mentioned Alfie's Christmas play last week, well as promised here is a picture, and yes he is dressed as a Frenchman - don't you remember a French person in the Christmas story..... no me neither - anyway, he was a French person, doing a French dance, which also involved throwing a Rose (I'm sure he can explain more, if you really want to know).

So, next time we speak it'll be Christmas, so we hope that you've been very good this year, and you get the things that you want - if not, sell them on eBay, and use the money to buy it yourself!!!!!! - Merry Christmas chums.

A Couple of Wright Lumberjacks

Whoo, in less than 2 weeks it will be Xmas - and we can't wait.

Alfie's school play went really well, and Mum's song & Dance routine with the other teachers seemed to go ok - well she didn't come home crying, or saying anything bad about it, so Singin in the Rain is obviously the next big thing. That reminds me, did you see the final of X Factor (I'm sure you did) - well, me & Mum weren't expecting Little Mix to win - the first group ever. I'm sure we'll hear lots from all the finalists as there were some very good singers - especially our favourite, th little Irish girl (who's name we've already forgotten!).

Something I haven't forgotten - the ache in my legs from doing Cross Country at School - man, that hurt..... its like torture! Three times in just over a week we had to run round this course, and until you really got going it was freezing! I did pretty well, always in the top 5 girls to finish, and my best was 2nd.

Talking of cold - Alfie's football sessions are getting very chilly he keeps telling me, and I now have to believe him, as he got the ball kicked hard at his leg, and you could still see the mark, against his thin, white legs, nearly an hour after he finished - brrrrrrrrr.

Saturday was better for us, and for Norwich City - they beat Newcastle United 4-2, and both Grant Holt & Steve Morrison scored with headers - I think they've scored more headed goals than any other Premiership team. We watched it on Match of the Day & they looked really good - so maybe the beating they got at Man City did them some good (in a strange way). The good for us was the chance to use some tools and go Christmas tree diggin. We went over to Rackheath, and had a whole field of Christmas trees to choose from - the only problem, they were still in the ground, which still had a bit of frost on it, and was quite crusty. Anyway, me and Alfie tried & tried & tried, with a spade & a fork, but after what seemed like ages, we stood back to see what a difference we'd made, and guess what - hardly a mark. Time to call in the back-up, or Dad as we call him, it still took him quite a while to hack his way through the earth, all around the tree - we then helped to wiggle it, until it finally came free - phew, how do these real lumberjacks do it all day long?.

On Sunday, we got to put the tree in a pot, and our favourite bit - decorating it, and it sure looks mighty pretty - if I say so myself. Hopefully some of our readers will be able to see if for themselves over the Christmas holidays. Otherwise, not much happened on Sunday, the weather was rainy & Dad had to go into work - more computer system stuff or something boring, so he didn't get back until teatime.

I'll see if I can find any pictures of Alfie's Christmas play to show you for next time, and by then we will have finished School for Christmas, and only have a week to go - exciting, or what!

Sleep is for Wimps II

Whooo, its December now, and our Advent Calendars have started taking a daily beating as we get the chocolates out!

Our extra day off School came & went - I stayed round my friend Lucy's house - and although we stayed up quite late, it wasn't until 4 o'clock, like last time - how very sensible. We came back to our house to make the Christmas cake, and yup, we ate lots of the mixture from the bowl - delicious!

On Saturday it was time for Alf to have a sleep over, at his friend Joe's house. So, he went off bowling (getting a best score of 84 - not bad), and then off to Joe's for some fun, football and Boy's stuff. His friend Jo got a phone for his Birthday, so guess what Alfie now wants for Xmas - yup, you got it, a phone. They were definitely more sensible than us Girls, going to sleep before Midnight, and getting up at 7 o'clock in the morning - a proper wimpy effort.

Meantime, me & Dad went on a Geocache bike ride, while Mum........ of course - went to sleep (what else does a 42 year old do on a Saturday afternoon!). We did pretty well, finding 6 out of 8 that we looked for - even getting some help from a friendly Black Cat along the way. A quick stop at the chip shop & somewhere to get Grumps his Birthday present, and then back home - just in time to go out again - swimming with my friend Karyna. We went to Bungay, and almost had the pool to ourselves - no inflatable though - but still a great time on the slide & with the floats - while Dad just swam up & down - boring!

We got back just in time to hear that Norwich had lost 5-1 against Manchester City - oops. It all seemed to be going OK at half-time as they were only losing 1-0 at the time. Never mind, no-one was expecting them to win there, and we must remember that Manchester United have already been beaten by them, and let in more goals!!!

Sunday morning was bedroom tidying & homework - BORING!!!, then at least we had a fun afternoon, as Grandma & Grumps came to see us. It seems like ages since we'd last met, but it was only about 5 weeks ago, just before Alfie's birthday.

It was funny playing a general knowledge quiz, as Grumps thought he knew lots of the answers, only to find out that he was wrong, more times than he was right. Me & Grandma didn't do much better, but sometimes its amazing the strange bits of information that grown ups know - bizarre.

Only about two more weeks at School until Christmas holidays, so it'll be time to get a Christmas tree, take our cards into school, and for Alfie to do his Christmas Play - in front of all those people - no pressure!!!!!!

27/11/2011

Sleep is for Wimps!

So nearly December now, and our Advent Calendars are ready & waiting for the first day - come on Thursday!

But before that, good news on our present gathering, I went into the City on Saturday with my friend Maddie, and got presents for Mum, Nanna & Grandad - just a few to go now.It was a shopping day all-round as Dad & Alf also went out & got some Birthday & Christmas presents for Monty & Connie (now we've just got to work out a way of getting them to their house) - River House, or somewhere, if I remember right.

Dad & Alf had a quiet night in on Saturday night, as I stayed over at Maddie's house, and while she fell asleep, along with her Mum just as Match of the Day was starting (so they missed Norwich winning against QPR, and another Grant Holt goal), I wasn't tired, so stayed awake with her Brother & Dad, until we all finally went to bed at after 3 o'clock in the morning! So while everyone else wasn't too tired on Sunday, it started to catch up with me in the afternoon - so luckily we didn't have anything planned, and I just vegged out - listening to our favourite music on our new Now that's What I Call music 80 CD (downloaded of course!).

We've also got some great new Wii games  - Mario & Sonic @ the London Olympics, which is really cool, and this fab new car racing game that you have to smash into other cars to win - awesome!

Talking of awesome, I thought I was doing ok at my new High School, but didn't think I was doing quite that well - surprise, surprise. It must have something to do with my arty stuff, as they really liked my weaving, which the teacher called 'excellent'.

Alf says his practice for the School Christmas performance is going pretty well - he's got to do some dancing - with a Girl!, should be interesting. I don't think we are doing anything like this at High School (if we are, I'm not in it - boooo).

Lastly, an unexpected Christmas gift from our teachers - an extra day off this Wednesday, as they are going on strike (again) - something about Pensions or something!? - we're not really bothered what their problem is, as I'm sure we'll find something cool to do.

Less than 30 days til Christmas - still no snow in France (lucky we're not going until February!).

20/11/2011

A Wright Hotel

A pretty busy week to tell you about - my Girl's House football team came 2nd in a School tournament during the week, and I played at least half of every game - phew. my new Purple football boots were fab - loads of grip & a super-powerful kick! Next time we're going all-out for the win!

Alfie spent his time getting things ready for Pudsy Bear day at his school, and a shooting game that him & Joe had made up - what a surprise eh, that it involved guns! He made some targets that you had to try and hit to score points, to win prizes. It seemed to go pretty well as the school raised several hundred pounds altogether.

On Saturday, me & my friends Lucy & Karina went into Norwich to watch a film - Arthur Christmas 3D (which was really good), and do a bit of shopping (which was really cool). We went on the Park & Ride bus, which only cost £1, so I'll have to ask Dad to take us there next time. We'd had such a god day, that I didn't want it to end, so I invited the Girls back to mine for a sleepover. No, if you read our stories before, you'll know that my bedroom is not always the tidiest of rooms, and so it wasn't a surprise that it was a bit of a mess. so much so, that there was hardly enough room to get the inflatable beds on the floor. In the end it didn't really matter as we didn't spend that much time asleep - finally shutting our eyes at about 2 o'clock & getting up again at about 8 o'clock on Sunday morning.

Mum went off skiing, but I obviously couldn't as I had guests to look after (shame!). Well, things have a habit of getting their own back, as so it was, as no sooner had my friends gone back home, I had to spend nearly 3 hours tidying up my bedroom - that's how messy it was!!!!

So, that was 5 different people we've had staying at our house over the past two weekends - I'm sure Mum & Dad are lovin' it! Dad did threaten us with some Geocaching - we've got 24 more to get by the end of the year, to meet his 100 every year target - sad! but by the time we'd finished clearing up it was nearly dark, as foggy, so we escaped - for another week.

Not too long until December now, and things are starting to feel just a little bit Christmassy - getting excited yet? Before that we've got to make sure we don't forget Monty, Connie & Grumps birthday's - busy, busy, busy.

13/11/2011

Birthday Blast!

Alfie finally said bye, bye to his Birthday treats.... for another year, but he went out with a blast (literally). Him & his friends went to play this indoor laser shooting game where you run around in the near dark, and have to shoot people (but not those on your team). They had a great time, talking about how many people they'd shot, and how many points they'd scored, while stuffing their faces with Pizza & crisps - Boys! Thankfully, me & my friend Hannah got to do something much more interesting, we went shopping in Norwich. We walked miles - all through Chapelfield, Castle Mall, past the market, and as far as Jarrolds &back - phew. Of course, there were plenty of stops on the way, to look & purchase!

We met up with Mum after for some more Girly time, while the Boys went to Mousehold for some more Pitch &Putt. Joe & Farys went this time, and both did OK, considering they'd never played before. Alf came home and had some presents to open (lucky thing), and got some cool stuff. Another Nerf gun - that makes 4, a fab photo of Wes Hoolehan, that he's actually signed himself - cool, a groovy board game and some new NCFC sweatbands, as his other ones were looking very filthy.

Despite being out & about all day, the Boyd decided more Football was needed, so left us to some peace &quiet indoors - not for long though. All the Boys seem to get more & more excited as the day went on, and Alf spent what seemed like ages on his drum kit showing everyone (in Brundall) just how loud he could make them sound.

After a quick tea, and a bit of the England v Spain friendly football match, the Girls watched X Factor, while the Boys played on the Wii. It was only 10 o'clock but we were all getting a bit tired, so went to our rooms - but could we sleep? No, me & Hannah blamed the Boys for making too much noise, and they blamed us - the result..... Mum had to referee, and we lost the laptop.... boooo.

We were definitely asleep by midnight, and didn't wake up until after 7 o'clock, so not bad really. Alf & Farys said they slept OK, but Joe reckoned that he only had 3 hours sleep......mmmmmmm - really!

No rest for the Girls, we were all at the Ski Club for 9 o'clock (or just after actually - Hannah was horrified that he was late - Mum's fault). The Boys went home about 10 o'clock - Joe's Mum was later as she didn't wake up until it was time to pick him up - oops!

No one had the energy to do anything on Sunday, so we just vegged out - and got ready for another tough week of School - tough eh!

Fantastic Fireworks

Back to school, which meant back to homework (but at least it was Science, so nice & interesting). Also we had Halloween & Fireworks, which were fun.

I went out on Halloween night with my friend, and we came back with loads of sweets. It took me ages to get the Green & Red makeup off my face, and I'm sure I went to School the next day with some still on. Alfie went out with Mum, and for the first time Stephen, Daniel & Adam came along. They didn't get quite as many sweets, but we must have walked twice as far. Mum said we had lots of visitors to our house, so there were hardly any sweets left from our own supply, which wasn't good news.

As usual we went to Brundall School to see the Fireworks, and as usual they were very good. They always seem to have something a bit different every year, and this time they had some that twirled round and made a screeching noise as they went, which were the best. We saw Dee & Steve, and curly Megs (who's hair isn't actually that curly anymore, and she's now taller than me!). We must get together again, to do some Geocaching, or something.

Saturday was a bit rubbish - we can't even remember what we did. All I can remember is that Norwich lost against Aston Villa - boooo.

We had an early start on Sunday, as we had to at the ski club for 9 o'clock, as it was the Club Championship race day. So me & Mum went off for a day of skiing, Alfie & Dad had a Golf day. They first went to the driving range, then went to the Pitch & Putt course at Mousehold in the afternoon. Crafty old Dad, he knew that it had closed for the Winter last week, so they could go & play for free! Alfie told me that they played 9 of the holes, and the best one he did was in 4 shots, which sounds very impressive to me - I'll definitely go next time.

Me & Mum didn't get any medals at the ski club (probably for the 1st time ever), so we must try harder next time. At the end they had the usual Firework display, and again it was very good, lots of rockets & very loud bangs - just how we like it!

We've just got the last bit of Alfie's birthday to look forward to (he's taking some friends to Lazer Quest, where you get to blast people with Laser guns - proper Boys stuff). Good job I've got my friend Hannah coming over & we are going into the City for a couple of hours, while the Boys shoot each other - then she's sleeping over, so that'll be lots of fun - can't wait.

By the way, now less than 55 days til Xmas!.

River House Riot

What a cool half term holiday we've had - hope yours has been just as much fun. After Alf's birthday celebrations, and a couple of ear-bleeding days of drumming, we were in need of something different, and we certainly got it - a trip to see Monty & Connie at their place in Hampshire. We'd heard about it loads of times but never been - so we were well excited. But of course, living in deepest, darkest Norfolk, going anywhere takes ages, so it was another 4 hour car trip - but at least we had our favourite radio station - KISS FM, to keep us company for half the journey. We stopped for some lunch at this weird place called Staines (which I though were just things you got on your clothes when you skidded on the grass - obviously not). Despite the strange name at least they had a good bakers, and the usual second-hand shops that Mum & Dad just had to go in.

After a bit of a problem finding their house, as it is a bit out of the way, we arrived, and wow, what a place. Their garden is MASSIVE, and has loads of fruit trees, sheds & playing places - its amazing. And the house, its huge, you could easily get lost in it, but luckily we had Monty & Connie to show us around.

We went walking in the woods (which is probably part of their garden - you'd never know as there aren't really any fences - except to keep the Sheep & Lama's out - yup Lama's, that's how posh it is where they live - it also seems you have to wear a hat (with a feather in it) when you walk your Dog - or that is what the two people we saw were anyway, so it must be like some sort of posh person's Dog walking uniform! They've even got this sort of Greek temple thing at the end of their road - we've just got an Old People's Home!, where we saw a Cat eating a Rabbit - lovely!

A quick trip to Winchester to get a few things (including a couple of nice Pink t-shirts from Primark!), and something for everyone from the second hand shops (we lost count of how many we went in - nearly double-figures we reckon). Poor Auntie Catherine had to go into London for work, so we didn't see her that day, so Ben had his hands full 'entertaining' Monty & Connie - lucky Boy!

The next day we were about to go out when Dad couldn't find his Car key - disaster. So we spent an hour (which felt like forever) looking everywhere - in the house, the garden, even under the tree that the helicopter got stuck in - when pilot Monty took it for a long-distance flight - but nothing. Just when we thought we'd be stuck here forever (which didn't actually seem that bad) - Dad found them - in the bin!!!!!! DOH..

So, all that we had time to do was go for a walk across the nearby golf course, and pick up a few Geocaches. Seeing a real Golf course was interesting as we'd only played on the driving range before. some of the holes are very long, so we really must get some more practice in - fingers crossed we can still get a game of pitch & putt in before the Winter arrives.

We did loads of chasing, drawing & messing around with our Cousin's which was really great, and they are soooo lucky to live in such a lovely place - the only problem, you can't just bike down to Budgens to spend your pocket money, as the nearest shops are quite a few miles away.

Sadly, it was too soon time to come home, and another 4 hour drive. This time we only stopped for petrol, and we got home in time for Alfie to go straight out again to his friend Farys's birthday party - busy busy.

So we hope you week off was fun packed, and you are ready for School again on Monday - now less than 60 days til Xmas!.

We Found Fun!

All right - this is more like it, things are fun again. Fun at School (some cool lessons and we finished early on Thursday & had an extra day off on Friday - although I didn't do much as Mum was at work in the afternoon).

And for Alf, of course, the days before your birthday are always fun - your friends asking you what you wanted, taking in sweets for your school chums, and as it always seems to be, Alfie's birthday is when we are on holiday from School - so everyone's in a good mood (aren't they!).

So we had a right good time - starting before his birthday on Saturday & a trip t see Grandma & Grumps, and Monty & Connie who had just travelled up from Hampshire. Poor Catherine, she'd only just come back from 'working' in Canada, so was still not sure what the time was, as its a bit more than the 1 hour we have to change our watches for France, I think it was more than 5 hours different - how messed up is that going to make you feel?

Anyway, we had a great time, playing football & generally messing about as Cousin's do - we even had time to admire Monty's plumbing & electrical handy-work in the garden (we know its just pretend stuff & doesn't actually work, but its pretty impressive all the things that the uses, and the imagination that he has. Alfie got to be extra lucky as he was allowed to open his present from Uncle Ben, and it was just what he wanted - a Nerf gun, with lots of new pellets, so the rest of the day was spent running around shooting things - Boys & their toys eh!

So Uncle Ben didn't feel left out (as its his birthday the day after Alfie's, and he's got an extra special birthday this year - he is 40 (almost as old as our Dad!), he was allowed to open his present from us, and its was a Nintendo DS, with lots of games for him to play. So, now when we go to the chalet, maybe we'll still get a chance to play ours!

We had some delicious Fish & Chips for tea, and came back pretty tired, but well happy cos Norwich managed to draw 1-1 away at Liverpool, and Grant Holt scored their goal - amazing stuff, which we watched on Match of the Day on Alfie's birthday.

So, the big day, and Alfie was awake earlier than usual for a Sunday - so was Mum (with a little help from us). He wasted no time literally tearing into his presents, and some fab stuff he's got. A really cool target & even more pellets for his Nerf guns (he's now got 3), a really fab torch from Grandma, that you squeeze to charge, and a whole lot of cash to spend. Oh, an how could I forget, a new (or actually nearly new) bike, that looks really funky - Mum is well jealous. So the presents were open, Mum had woken up (again) after going back t sleep, and Alfie changed his mind on what he wanted to do - so we were now off to Splash in Sheringham. It turned out to be a really good choice as the water was lovely & warm, the slide really fast, and the wave machine superb. By the time we'd finished its was after 3 o'clock and we were hungry. Again Alfie had a last minute change of plan, and we were off to Zaks for either a very late lunch, or early tea. By the time our food arrived we were starving, and I don't think I can remember eating a plate of food so quickly - it was gorgeous, a big cheese burger & curly chips, followed by an ice-cream dessert which was awesome!

Another day, another present, and the LOUDEST one ever!. Nanna & Grandad came over to see us (shame they didn't bring Tilly, it would have been great to take her for a walk, and get your face licked!), but what they did bring was a drum kit. O.M.G, the noise - how can they make soooooo much noise, there is not a room in the house that you can go to get away from them, when Alf is really going for it - I'm sure they can even hear him in Blofield - you certainly can in the garden!!!!  I think that it was the first time I saw Nanna & Grandad leave with a smile on their face (normally they're sad to go), but after another 20 minutes of Alf drumming, we all knew why - thanks!

Yawn, Yawn, Yawn!

Well, it was bit bit less boring this week, but not much. At least there is Alfie's birthday to look forward to, so at least it won't be boring forever - fingers crossed.

At least there was some proper football this week. Norwich won 3-1 at home to Swansea, and scored their first goal after only 48 seconds (so quick that we'd not even turned the radio on & missed it.). Their next game will not be so easy, as they are away to Liverpool! But, if they play as well as they did against Man Utd, then anything could happen.

Talking of football, both me and Alfie played this week - Alfie at his Soccer Stars team, and me in a Thorpe High School Year 7 team. Although we lost, it was good fun & I really want to get into a proper Girls football team, and there is one in Norwich, so I'll have to ask some people about it.

Other than that, it was all a bit dull (again) - homework, homework, homework, then helping to tidy up my bedroom & the house - not real the sort of thing that children should be forced to do - what do Mum & Dad think this is - Victorian Times!

Lucky me, I get Friday off on holiday next week, while Alfie & Mum have work / school, but I don't know what I'll be doing as its not a huge amount of fun being at home on your own - I'm sure I'll think of something.

Then it'll be Alfie's birthday, after Uncle Ben has his 40th, and then a week on holiday. Don't know what we are doing yet - could be really good, or really dull - we'll just have to wait & see what happens.

Cold, Wet & Boring!

RUBBISH! - that's what the weather has been over the last week. We could not believe that only a week ago we were on the beach & swimming in the Sea. If you hadn't already seen the pictures, we are sure you would assume we'd got a head injury, or were just telling lies! We were going to play Pitch & Putt Golf, but not in the rain, so we went swimming instead - still wet, but much more fun.

This is the first week in ages that there really hasn't been anything much to say. We went to School, we did some (more) homework - I'm working on a cool poster on the things that I like about music, which is quite fun. Played some football, spent ages on the trampoline (as we'd better make the most of it before it goes away at the end of the month - cos that's when we seem to take it down.

We also spent some time writing out our Christmas lists (we know that it is still month's away, but you need to be prepared). Talking of lists, I must make sure that I have a look at Alfie's birthday one - if there is such a thing, as I'm sure he'll expect me to get him something (of course Dad will pay for it - I'll just write the tag!). I'd better do this before I forget again, as he keep giving us a daily countdown of how many days there are left before his big day. One thing is for certain - there will some mysterious (or maybe not so mysterious) present, cos there is a big box in the shed - I wonder what that could be............

No proper Football to talk about as England were playing, and were just as hopeless as ever. They were winning 2-0 and looked like they would win easily, until they stopped trying, and let the other team score 2 goals, and end up with a rubbish 2-2 draw. When they end up playing a good team in the Euro Championships next Summer, they are going to get thrashed!

Hopefully this week will be a bit less boring, and we'll have more things to write about - or this could become really dull for all our readers as well - fingers crossed.

Scorchio!

What a mental week, its been hotter in October than it was in August - more of that later.

First O.T.B.C, Norwich won another game, at home to Sunderland (that we watched on Sky), and for the first time this season they didn't give away a penalty - up to 9th place in the Premier League. Just Manchester United to play next - away!

Following on the football theme. Alfie's team beat Spixworth 2-0, to get revenge as they got beaten by them last time. Just like Norwich, that makes two wins in a row.

As the week went on, the weather just got hotter & hotter - thank God we decided not to go ski racing again this weekend as we would of been roaster alive. Me & Mum did go training on Friday night, and it was still really warm at 9 o'clock in the evening when we finished.

We had our usual trip to the Golf driving range on Saturday & we were sweating like mad before 10 o'clock in the morning. There was no way we were going to play Pitch & Putt in this weather, so we played with water bombs instead - much more refreshing!

So, how did Norwich get on at Manchester United. Did they get let in 8 goals like Arsenal did, or 3 like Chelsea did?.......no, they only lost 2-0 & played superbly, they were actually unlucky not to have got a draw, at least, as they had some really great chances to score.... but they didn't. Even the people on Match of the Day said how well they had played, so they must of been good - never mind eh, just a game!

And saving the best til last. Just to show you how mad the weather has been, it was 1st of October and we had a BBQ tea, then on Sunday we went to Waxham beach (and not to see the Seal pups), we were going sun bathing - incredible. Our friend Maddie came along & we had a great time, being buried in the sand & we actually went swimming in the sea, in October - the only one that chickened out was Mum, who only got her knees wet!!!!!

Back home & back to reality, 2 lots of homework that I had to do, only getting it all finished at 10 o'clock at night, and then straight to sleep - tough life eh!

Things Re-united

Phew, after last week's disasters, I've got my new coat back! - someone handed it in to reception. I'll definitely not be taking that again (until its got my name tag in it). No such luck with my book or shorts, but luckily the School had some spares & so I've got everything back again - great.

Its still homework nearly every day, so it seems that its going to be like this all the time now. At least we are learning about interesting stuff all the time. Experiments on density (why things float / sink), learning about technology - crashing satellites (which luckily didn't fall on anyone), as well as studying both French & German - totally FULL ON

For the fourth week in a row, our usual trip to the Golf driving range on Saturday morning, and we didn't play quite so well, with one of Alfie's shots even going straight up and bashing into the roof - making a really loud clanging noise - embarrassing! So, more practice needed - we've just got to stop trying to hit it too hard, as it never goes as far when you do. Dad must have told us this 100 times, but do we listen...... no. It looks like we'll get our first taste of proper Golf next weekend with some pitch & putt - no pressure.

We all had a long, long day on Sunday - up at 6 o'clock in the morning to drive to near London for some ski racing. This time we had to bring Alfie (not cos he was racing, Dad had to go into work again - something about making sure the computers were working????). So we spent the day skiing while Alfie moaned about being bored - then disaster, Mum's Car had a flat tyre. Luckily we noticed it at the ski club so some of the people helped to change the wheel (you didn't think that Mum would get her hands dirty doing it herself do you!). Anyway, the wheel got changed but the spare one was only for emergencies and we had to drive home at 50mph, which took ages.

At least Dad had cooked out tea (a rather delicious Beef dish with honey gravy - yum). We didn't make it much after teatime, before our eyelids began to feel really heavy, and we were all in bed by 9 o'clock - ready for another week, which promises Football - Norwich v Sunderland on Monday night, Alfie's team play another match - against Spixworth (who his old School friend Sammy plays for), and my Girls Football training.

Lost Property

What a difference a week makes - especially if you are Norwich City. Last week they lost, thanks to the referee, this week they won, sort of thanks to the referee. They were playing away at Bolton, and scored two goals, before they gave away another penalty, that makes 5 in the last 5 games, which is a new record!!!!. The help from the ref came when one of Bolton's players looked like he head-butted one of the Norwich players, so he got a Red card and Norwich won 2-1.

My big school still seems very big, with lots of places to loose things, which explains why I'm now searching for:

  • My Year Book

  • A pair of shorts

  • My new Winter coat (oops - I've only had it two days, and took it to School & left it somewhere - the Library I think)

We also get loads of homework, there is something to do most evenings - where has all the fun gone - its all work, work work. Not completely true as I went to Girls football & trampoline club, so there is some fun (just after lessons have finished). So, wish me luck on my search through lost property - I'm just hoping that its not got too much stuff in it yet, as term has just started.

Alfie's highlight was his Soccer Stars Elite team beating Old Catton 4-1 in their latest match. Alfie set up two of the goals, but didn't score any himself - no matter, a win is a win.

The usual trip to the Golf driving range on Saturday morning, and we are getting a little better every time, and I nearly hit the man driving the tractor who picks up the balls - what fun. My friend Maddie came over to see us on Saturday, and we all went to Brundall School Fayre, and saw John Tickle (yes, that is his real name) from the TV program Brainiac, which is a mad science show where they blow things up & do other crazy stuff - wicked! He was also in a previous series of Big Brother (obviously before we watched it), but Mum had a great time talking to him about it, and who he still spoke to - he looked interested, but he probably wasn't.

Maddie had a sleep over & we took her to the Golf driving range on Sunday - she's a left hander as well, so had to use Alfie's clubs. She got on ok, but definitely missed the ball more times than she hit it - never mind - practice, practice.

Dad's talking about us going to play Pich & Putt (short Golf) at Mousehold soon, so we need to start getting more shots to go straight, or we could lose all our balls before we've finished playing all the holes!!

Very, Very Big School

Phew, that's the first week of big school over & done, and you know what, it was really quite good. The place is even more massive when there is over 1000 other children there, the school is on two sites, and you only have 10 minutes to find your next class - when you've only got a map to guide you. It went ok, and I only got lost a couple of times- but then so did everyone else. It is definitely different, we got homework from two lessons in the first week - yikes! It was good to see my friend Maddie, and even better, we are in nearly half our lessons together, so that's cool.

Alfie had a good few days back at school (he didn't go back until Wednesday), so it was nice & short, and although he got some homework, he got four weeks to do it - easy life! I say that although he has got to make a guitar, so it is a bit trickier than mine (probably for the last time!).

We had a really good day out on Saturday, in Yarmouth, as we met up with our Cousin's Monty & Connie, and Ben & Catherine, who were staying with Grandma & Grumps for a few days. Grandma & Grumps also came along, so it was another big family outing. We went to a sea festival, all about the boats & stuff from years ago. The best bits were letting off a balloon with our names on, cos which one goes furthest from Yarmouth wins a prize - and they just went up & up!, and making a necklace with a real Shark tooth on it - cool. Now before you are concerned that there are now lots of Sharks with no teeth, the lady told us that Shark lose their teeth all the time, and that the bottom of the sea is covered in them - so that's alright then.

We went to the Golf driving range again (of course), and by Sunday morning we'd both got some new Golf clubs. Alfie has got a really smart Blue set, with a bag, and I've got some groovy Black ones, and a bag. We still need plenty of practice, but we are definitely getting better - slowly.

Norwich were playing football on Sunday, and the game was on Sky, so we all sat down to watch it, and even had the Youngs brother over, and Alfie's lucky Green hat - but that has really lost its magic, as they lost again, this time 1-0 to West Brom. Norwich were unlucky (again) as they should of had a penalty as their striker was elbowed in the face and had blood all over him - but the ref was the only one in Carrow Road who didn't see it. The only good thing was that their young goal keeper saved a penalty, which should of never been a penalty as the player just fell over - unbelievable!!!! - never mind, its only a game.

Summer's Officially Over

So, that's it, Summer is over, and its almost time to go back to School (and for me, my new school in Thorpe - gulp!).

At least our last week of holiday was action packed (we really can't believe that 6 weeks has gone so quickly). Me & Mum spent 3 whole days at the ski club doing race training, so we can't have any excuses the next time we race - which is later in September, I think. It wasn't all skiing, we also did some fitness stuff (that Mum obviously enjoyed-not), where we had to run round Whitlingham lake - Mum was the second from last person to finish, I was the sixth (from first) - come on Mum, try harder!!!!

Alfie spent his days either with Stephen & Harvey, and got to see Harvey's new house, which is nearly finished. The last time I saw it, it was just an old barn, that looked ready to fall down - hope its a bit different now!

We went to the local Golf driving range on Saturday & had a great time smashing Golf balls. I used my new clubs & Alfie borrowed one from the shop. The really groovy thing is that they've got machines that set your ball up automatically, so you don't even have to bend down to put another one onto you tee - brilliant. We definitely need some more practice as some of our shots only just reached the grass, which was only about two metres away (so we quickly grabbed them & used them again!). Dad took some of his clubs & can really whack them far - even though he says he's not played for ages.

Annalise & Harvey came round for a BBQ on Saturday, and we told them all about our Golf fun, so we went to the driving range again on Sunday morning, and had loads more fun - and a putting competition.

Sunday was really busy - up to the Golf driving range before 10 o'clock, then straight off to Lowestoft to see Grandma & Grumps. We had a great time, mostly in the garden - playing Football, and inventing new games (whacking footballs with Golf clubs, smacking Tennis balls with Golf clubs, and exploding Apples with Golf clubs!). And of course lots of Grandma's lovely food - a delicious roast Chicken with the crispiest roast Potatoes ever, and a chocolate pudding for afters - delicious!

The only thing I had left to do was add a final picture to my Summer holiday homework, which I've got to take to School on the 1st day so that all my new class mates can get to know me - see what you think.

Super Seventy

What a super-busy week, where do we start? Unfortunately, we have to begin with the complete load of rubbish that was Norwich against the MK Dons. Poor Maddie, her first Norwich game with us, and they lost 4-0, that's right they got hammered by a team in League One - and they deserved to win - Norwich were hopeless (although the whole team were different from the players that played in the Premier League two days before).

Anyway enough of that, at least it was just a silly cup game, so hopefully they will play better in their next game - away to Chelsea!

No matter, as at least Maddie had a sleep over with us, as we didn't get home til after 10 o'clock, and for once we didn't stay up too late, as we were all tired out.

We then spent the next few days seeing some of our old Kittens again, first Pepsi, when we took Maddie home, then Fudge, then &

Then we went to see our Cousins, Robert & Rowan, who had been staying at Nanna & Grandad's caravan, so we went to Kessingland & went Swimming, played some Football & spent our pennies at the arcade (and won some more tokens, to add to our collection). We didn't need to say goodbye as we'd be seeing them again very soon, for Nanna's late Birthday get-together.

So, although Nanna's 70th Birthday was last week, we all went to this place in the middle of nowhere - Browston Hall to have a meal on Saturday. There were loads of us, six Cousins, all our Mum's & Dad's, as well as Nanna's brother, and one of her oldest friends. We had a right feast - a carvery, where you can choose the stuff you want, so lots of sausages, roast potatoes & gravey - yum! We saved the best til last, a big swirl of ice-cream with lots of sauce & sweets (yes sweets) on it - delicious!

Just when everyone was about to leave Dad went to his car and got some of his golf clubs out, as there was this place that you go and practice your shots - so guess what, we just had to have a go as well, and guess what - it was great fun. Not all our shots went very far, but some of them were pretty spectacular - bouncing off the side of the bit where we standing - wow! Nearly everyone had a few shots, even Nanna. We definitely want to do that again - Golf could really be the game for us.

The rest of Saturday was spent in the kitchen, getting things ready for Nanna's birthday celebrations part II, a BBQ at the caravan. Sadly, Norwich didn't win at Chelsea, and lost 3-1, but only after their goalie, John Ruddy, had been sent off (when he shouldn't have been).

Daddy had to go to work on Sunday, and booooo, wasn't able to come with us to Kessingland. He did boring stuff for nine hours while we had fun - tough life!

We had a tidy up day on Monday, as the house was a right mess - my bedroom was the worst of the lot, but with a bit of help from Dad its looking much tidier now. We've both got the Golf bug, and I've now got some Golf clubs of my own. Daddy bought them on eBay, and we went over & picked them up, then went straight up to the nearest field and had a hack about, with Alf & Stephen also having a go - great fun.

Only one more week of our holiday left now, and me & Mum are spending three whole days at the Ski club at a race camp, while Alf spends time with his friends - not fair.

What a Wright Hotel

Phew, what a relief, our Cats remembered us, and we sooo pleased that w were back (or was it just that we gave them some food!).

O.M.G, did you see on the news that one of the Red Arrows planes crashed, and the pilot was killed. We obviously only saw them at Lowestoft the other week, and although it looked spectacular, we didn't know it was really that dangerous - so sad.

After a few days not really doing much (apart from make a fuss of the Cats, and play outside), our house turned into a Hotel, with one sleep-over after another. First my friend Maddie came over to stay (after we'd spent the day in Norwich with Dad choosing a new TV for the lounge, which is much bigger & better than the other one, its so cool! We got a big bucket of Popcorn & Candyfloss, and watched the last of the Harry Potter films. We know its only just out at the cinema, but Dad managed to 'obtain' a copy, which was fine, apart from the odd foreign subtitle! Mum took Nanna out for the day in Beccles, as it was her birthday - happy 70th Nanna. Mum tells us she's had a groovy new haircut, which we can't wait to see at the weekend - we're sure she'll look 10 years younger (at least!).

Maddie liked staying with us so much she stayed over on Friday night as well, and only went back home in the afternoon, which her Mum was pleased with as they are having some building work done on their house and its all a bit of a mess at the moment - we know, we've been there, with our extension.

Alfie was feeling a bit left out, so invited Stephen to a sleep-over on Saturday night (so, as you can see we were just like a hotel - one guest leaves, another arrives). Unlike Maddie however, Stephen's sleep-over didn't go according to plan, and at 11 o'clock he decided he wanted to go back home. Luckily he only lives over the road, but it still meant that we had to wake his Mum & Dad up to unlock the door. It now seems this has happened before, and wasn't cos Stephen wanted to go to sleep & we didn't - he was playing on his DS a bit before he quit - come on Boy, Man-Up!!!!

Mum left us home-alone on Sunday, and went to some training / coaching thing at the ski club (dull.....), so we got to do the usual - pester Dad into taking us swimming, which he did. Of course we went to Bungay and had a fab time on the inflatable, with Alfie finding some cool new moves, jumping from one part to the other - spectacular.

We were gutted that Norwich didn't win against Stoke, who scored in the last minute of the game - boooooooo. Never mind, we're going to see them play on Tuesday night against the MK Dons, in the Carling Cup, so hopefully they will be all fired up to get a good win. We are taking Maddie to her first proper game, so lets hope she is lucky - O.T.B.C.

Air Show Antics

Mmmmm, half our Summer holiday is now over - where has the time gone? If the next 3 weeks go this quickly, we'll both be back at School before we know it!

At least we are doing loads of cool stuff - this time we went off to Lowestoft to stay with Nanna & Grandad. First it was the Airshow (which I think we've been to every year that there has been one) and again the Red Arrows were THE BEST. We got to see them on both the Thursday & Friday, and we never get bored of seeing them - they are EPIC! There were some other good things as well, the parachute people were really clever, landing on the beach when it seemed they would be going for a swim, and there were the really noisy planes (as usual) who seem to make the whole ground shake when they go past - wicked.

Last year the weather was really rubbish, so it was great that it was warm and Sunny, mostly on the 2nd day. so of course me & Alf just had to go in the Sea & try again to do some proper surfing. Well, we're a bit better, but I don't think we are quite ready for some proper big waves just yet, as one little one knocked me over & nearly drowned me - that salty water is DISGUSTING!.

On Saturday we went to Yarmouth (our 2nd visit in a week) and we went to the Pleasure Beach. I have to say that Alf was braver than me as he went on the Sky Drop with Grandad (which is the ride that goes right up in the air, and then drops you straight down, just like you are going to smash into the ground - maybe I'll go next time (maybe). We went on the Waltzes (and without Mummy there, they didn't have to stop the ride to let her get off!). So a top day, lots of fun at the seaside.

Our seaside fun didn't stop there, Sunday was another nice day so off to the beach we went again, and yup, more swims in the Sea, this time without our wetsuits - how brave are we! Nanna & Grandad's Dog Tilly came down to the beach as well, and had a lovely time playing about on the sand, and in the edge of the Sea, so I think whenever we take her for walks in future, it'll be down the beach for her. All that exercise had made up super-hungry, so lucky for us that we had a super BBQ tea, which we ate until we though our Tummies were going to pop!

So, its back home tomorrow, and another adventure over - thanks very much to Nanna & Grandad for looking after us & we hopewe weren't too much trouble - we tried to be good (honest). At least we get to see Nelly, Madie & Ralf again - I wonder if they'll remember who we are!

Back to Normal (for Norfolk)

Well, a much quieter 2nd week of our Summer holiday, although still a few things that we thought we'd share with you.

We'd been back from the caravan for a couple of days, and we were already getting on each others nerves - you know how it is, Brother & Sister, bored by the time Mum gets up at 9:30, nothing else to do, so lets wind each other up!!!!

Luckily Mum had a cunning plan, get a couple of friends over, to hopefully keep us too busy to argue, and it sort of worked. My friend Maddie, and Alfie's friend Joe came over on Wednesday afternoon, to stay the night. We went and chose a film - Guliver's Travels (which was OK, not brilliant, but funny in places), and buckets of Popcorn, in all flavours (including the yucky Salted sort for Joe - grim!).

So we watched the film, messed about a bit, and then Mum & Dad went to bed. Dad had an excuse as he had to go to work the next day, and would be up at 6 o'clock, but Mum, I think we'd just tired her out - bless!. Anyway, as you do, you get talking (about nothing in particular, and the time just flies by, until - oops, its 2 o'clock in the morning, so we really must try & get some sleep - which we eventually did. The Boys didn't go to sleep much earlier - they reckon about 1 o'clock.

We were all a bit tired by the next night, so didn't even have to be told it was bedtime - we just knew, cos our eyes were shutting all by themselves.

The next couple of days just drifted past, until Saturday, and a phone call that changed the weekend - first an invitation to go swimming at Bungay, and another go on the inflatable, with Karyna & Beth. After we got back her Mum agreed that I could sleep over at her house, so we had to get all my sleeping stuff round - how great is it to have friend like these!

So, what were Alf & Dad doing all this time, I'm sure you want to know. Well, Dad was being a busy DIY Boy again, and Alfie was his helper (slave)! Dad & Alf smashed up the old patio doors (between the lounge & conservatory), just before we went to the caravan, and now he was putting in the new ones, and now they are finished, they do look very smart - especially when they are folded right back - groovy.

The weekend of fun didn't end there, when Mum came to get my stuff from Karyna's she mentioned that we were going to Yarmouth to do suff, and did Karyna want to come - of course she did.

So we all went over to Yarmouth and did the things that you just have to do when you go there:

  • Eat Chips

  • Play Crazy Golf

  • Go on the 2p machines

After feeding ourselves, we played on the Pirates Cove Adventure golf, and what fun that was. Even though Dad won by loads of shots, me, Mum & Alf were very close together, with Karyna taking over 40 more shots that Dad, but she enjoyed herself.

We then wasted lots of our pennies in the arcades trying to win £5 notes that looked like they were hanging over the edge, just waiting to be won - but we didn't!

So that's 2 weeks gone already, which means we've only got 4 left, then its big school time OMG!

Caravan Capers

Wow, that's the first week of the Summer holiday gone already, but we've had a really busy time staying in Nanna & Grandad's caravan in Kessingland.

Day 1 - 10 mile bike ride from the caravan, with a bit of shopping half way round (both me & Alf got a new pair of trainers), so something for everyone - winner!

Day 2 - A trip to Southwold (which we've been to many times before), but something a bit different. A bike ride across the river to Walberswick & back, trying to find some Geocaches (not doing very well as there weren't any clues to help us). We went onto the Pier and saw these really strange machines that did all sorts of weird things - quite mad really.

Day 3 - We went to Pleasurewood Hills and what a fab time we had. Me & Alf went on WipeOut, which blasts you upside down, both going forward & backwards. Now you might be thinking that we'd only go on something this scary once - nah, we went on it a total of 6 times (Mum could only handle it once - lightweight!). We also went on our other favourite rides - Snake in the Grass, Enigma & of course a soaking on the log flume - Grandad will be really jealous when we tell him.

Day 4 - A quieter day (which we needed). A trip to Orford, cos Daddy had always wanted to go there. On the way there was an amazing bike trail in the woods that we'll have to go to sometime. On the way back we went into Alborough so Mum could do some shopping (while we went surfing in the Sea - fortunately with our wetsuits on, cos it was FREEZING - especially for Alf, as his wetsuit had short arms & legs - Brrrrr!)

Day 5 - We finished with possibly our longest ever bike ride, a 16 mile trek from Kessingland to Beccles & back again (which we had to be bribed to do). What made the day, and the trip extra special was that we went Go Karting on the way back (and not just any old Karts - these had petrol engines and went really, really fast). We had to wear special clothes, gloves & helmets, and watch a video on the rules. We then got in our Karts and after showing we could stop & start, we were off round the track, going faster & faster. Me & Mum were racing each other, and Alf & dad were having their own battle. Alf took one of the corners a bit too quickly & crashed. He also spun right round, called a donut, before speeding off again. Almost as soon as we'd started we saw the chequered flag being waved & it was time to stop - it was AWESOME fun, we must, must, must do this again - EPIC!

As you can see we had a great time - just goes to show, you don't have to go miles from home for a good holiday, although we won't be able to say that next year when we go to Disneyland!

Then we just had time to spend the last of our pennies in the arcade, exchange our tokens for some not so fab prizes, before it was time to come home again. Just a quick stop at Nanna & Grandads to leave the key for our Cousins Sophoe & Naomi who were staying there  next week. Crazy Tilly was pleased to see us (we both got our faces licked - lovely), and it was great to see that Sophie & Naomi were happy to play with Tilly as well, as the last time they were a bit frightened - good on ya Girls!

A quick swim at Bungay on Sunday (as we didn't go once at Kessingland), and we both came away with bumps & grazes after spectacular falls off the giant inflatable - thanks Dad!!

So, one week gone, 6 more to go - bring on the fun.

The End of An Era

What an emotional week. I've just had my very last day at Brundall Primary School - and it feels really weird, sad & exciting, all at the same time. Even though most of my friends are going to Thorpe High School with me, we still got upset at leaving our School for the last time, and saying goodbye to the teachers that we've known for the past 6 years At least for me both Mum & Alfie will still be there, so they can tell me all about things that go on next term. That was also my last School day lie in, as from now on I will have to be at the Bus stop at 8 o'clock in the morning, which is about the time that Mum stops watching TV and starts to think about getting dressed!

So, enough of the sad stuff. We had our traditional last day visit to the Beach, which was actually quite warm (after a pretty rubbish week of weather) and stuffed ourselves with chips. I then went to Ella's for her Birthday sleepover (and fortunately did get some sleep), as we had lots of sorting out to do on Saturday - ready for our trip to Nanna & Grandad's caravan.

Also, I've just got to tell you about our play - A Midsummer Nights Dream, it was amazing. Luckily, the real performances went much better than the last rehearsal (which Mum & Alf had to watch). Dad & Alfie came to see the show on Tuesday night & Nanna came to see the 2nd show on Wednesday. I remembered all my lines both times & hopefully said them loud enough to be heard by everyone. We were really nervous before we started each of the shows, but once we got going we forgot all about being worried & really enjoyed it. Everyone loved the video that we made, which was great fun to do, and I even got married in Brundall Church - by the actual Vicar!!!!! I've got a copy of my own, so I'll make everyone sit & watch it, when they come to visit - there will be no escape.

So, now all Alfie & me have got to do is not kill each other over the next 6 weeks - which could be tricky!

High Energy

Phew, another 100 mile per hour week - 2 Disco's and a Sports Day, that's even full-on for me.

The first Disco was at my new High School, and a chance for us newbies to meet up with the other people that will be coming from the other Schools. That meant that my friend Maddie was there (good to see her again) and we had a good time singing along & dancing to some of our favourite songs.

Then to my last Brundall Primary School Sports Day (sniff, sniff), and I was determined to do well in the running race. I started off real well and was in the lead for most of the race, then oh, no, just as I started to slow down a bit (I was a bit tired by now), xxxxxx ran past me, and won - right on the line - GUTTED! So, no win, but the 2nd fastest Girl in the School - not bad! Alfie did well, he was in his team relay race and very nearly caught up the two Boys that were in front of him, which really helped his team, as by the end, they WON! As you can see, we are both better at running than skipping or Hula Hoops! I bet there will be some really fast runners in High School so I'll have to get in some training (perhaps Mummy will start running again...... what do you think the chances are!).

Alf was hoping that his Football match against Catton was going to be played this week, but they couldn't arrange it in time, so it now looks like it will have to wait until the new season - never mind, it can't be that far away now as we saw that Norwich had played their first friendly game against Gorleston (near Yarmouth) and won 7-0!!!!! Of course, the Premier League will not be that easy.

The 2nd Disco of the week was just for Brundall Year 6's, but was not at the School, but in Little Plumstead (which we'd not been to before). Dad found his way alright, but Stephen's Mum (who was picking us up) couldn't find it & had to call Dad for directions. We didn't care, it just meant we got to stay out even later with our friends!

The weekend was completely rubbish - thanks to the weather. On Saturday me & Alf had our haircut (lookin' good!) and got a few things from the Next sale (although we were not there at 5 o'clock in the morning when the shop opened). On Sunday, it was turning out to be another really dull day, until we decided to go swimming in Bungay, and took Stephen with us for the first time. He liked the giant inflatable, but not when this very fat Boy got on, as he nearly made it tip over - what a bloater!

So, only one week to go now. We've got the first performance of A Midsummer Nights Dream tomorrow, so fingers crossed it goes OK, before the show to the parents on Tuesday night - no pressure!!!!!!!

Allo, Allo

Bonjour everyone, savah?...... tres bien. Why the par les vous France?..... it can only be for one reason (no unfortunately we didn't pop over to France for a quick holiday) - but the next best thing, most of France came to us (or to Grandma & Grumps house actually). Catherine had to go to Poland for a few days, so Monty, Connie & Uncle Ben came to stay in Lowestoft for a few days, and we went over to see them. Nearly everyone was asleep when we arrived (in the middle of Saturday afternoon), so Alfie had to climb over the gate & let us in - we must of looked like burglars!!! Poor old Monty wasn't feeling very well and spent quite a bit of the time lying down - smiling only when he heard his Sister hurt herself (nice), and getting up to be sick (lovely). He did get better in the end and we spent lots of time in the garden messing around , as well as pretend cooking, making lots of bean stew..mmmm.

We stayed until after 8 o'clock, so sorry if that was past Monty & Connie's bed-time. We didn't stay up too late after we got home, cos I had to get up at 6 o'clock the next day as we were skiing in Ipswich, and had to start practicing at 8:30 - O.M.G. Me and Mum had a good day. I came 2nd in my category, and in the winning team in the afternoon race. Mum came 3rd. Dad says it was cos he some special wax mix on my skis - well if you did, please do it again for the next race!

Dad & Alf had the day to themselves and played lots of Tennis in the close and fixed up the bikes so they work even better now. Dad even splashed out on some new bike tyres that were nearly £30 EACH, but supposedly will stop almost all punctures - we'll see!

All this weekend action followed on from a party & sleep-over at my friend Maddie's house. We went to Pizza Express in Norwich for some yummy food, and I got to be taken to School the next day by one of our teachers (cos her Mum works at our School - how cool is that!). That wasn't the only party, as I thought, I had another one - this time my friend Carina, in the lovely cool Ice Skating rink - which was great as it was a really warm day. We all skated really well, with no spectacular crashes or injuries - bonus.

Now only 2 more weeks at School, until the Summer holidays, and a whole new world of High School - its goin' to be emotional! At least I've pretty much learned my lines for the last day performance of A Midsummer Nights Dream, so hopefully that will go OK.

Craft Crisis

Ahhhhh, that was more like it, not quite so mad, but still fun. Unfortunately, Alfie's football match against Old Catton was cancelled (they clearly didn't want to get their hair wet!), so Alfie & Jo got wet just practicing instead - nevermind.

I am in the end of term production of A Midsummer's Night's Dream, and we had a practice at one of my friend's house. I've been learning my lines for weeks & weeks, but still struggle sometimes as the words are really weird, and don't make sense (I don't think anyway!) - did they really speak like that all those years ago? If they did, then how can people nowadays possibly say that young people talk funny now!

On Saturday I had the 2nd part of my Birthday celebrations, which was a craft party with some of my friends. We had lots of material & bits & pieces to customise some bags that me & Mummy bought. Everything was going really well until.........DISASTER, someone (and I'm not going to say who - but it wasn't me), accidentally cut a bit out of Annalise's new cardigan, that she'd only bought earlier, with her own money - O.M.G - NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!.

Upset is not the word, devastated more like, it took ages to make her feel even a bit better (even though we said that we'd go and buy her another one the next day - which of course we did). I thought you all needed to know this, so when you look at this picture, you'll know why everyone isn't looking too happy! At least everyone enjoyed making a fuss of Runty Ralf!

Alfie & Daddy escaped (no idea why, they missed all the fun & drama), and they went Geocaching with Stephen. For once there was some decent trash in a couple of them. Alfie got a little Radio, that actually works & Stephen got a watch, which sort of does.

Maddie stayed over on Saturday night & we went to Brundall school, along with Alfie & the Youngs Boys for a disco & BBQ, which was really good fun, and amazingly still light when we came home at 9:30 in the evening.

Sunday, Alfie went bowling for his friend's birthday treat & nearly got over 100 points in a game (96 was his best) - not bad, but not as good as me. He then stuffed his face at Pizza Hut, while me & Mum got Annalise her new cardigan & I spent some of my birthday money in the City.

We left Daddy to another DIY project, this time he was putting in a groovy loft ladder that folds up into the loft, so its always there when you need it - much better than the step ladder!

It looks like its going to stay busy - I've got at least 2 parties coming up, got skiing at Ipswich, and still hope to get to see Monty & Connie who will be over in Lowestoft very soon, so lots to tell you all.

Fun Overload!

O.M.G, what a mental week - I've done sooooo much, I hardly know wher eto start, or whether I'll stay awake long enough to tell you all about it, but here goes.

First things first, after months & months of waiting, our school trip had finally arrived, and we all got on the coach sooo excited, and we weren't disappointed - it was FANTASTIC. It seemed no time at all & we were there, unpacked & off to get stuck in, and we didn't stop for two whole days. We had high ropes and other stuff up in the trees, just like Go Ape in Thetford which was really cool. I managed to do all the scary things, even the climb to the top of this tall pole, and then jump off - FAB. Then we did archery (I wasn't too good at that), and some raft building which was really fun as we had to build it ourselves, and then see if it would float (with us on it). Luckily it did, but we just had to get wet, so we all jumped in to the lake at the end...brrrrrrrrr! I got to sleep in a room with my friends in some bunk beds, but we were so tired out, we didn't stay up too late talking (for once). Then the two days were over & it was time to come home again, but at least I had something to look forward to - it was my Birthday. We didn't get back to School until 5 o'clock, just had time to get some Chinese, and then me & Mum went off skiing (which is obviously exactly what every 11 year old would do on their birthday, in the middle of Summer, isn't it!). I really wanted to see my friend Hannah, who said she'd bring me a present, so we did more talking & messing around than skiing - we'll try harder next week, honest!

Talking of presents, I really have been a lucky Girl, getting a Pink camera, the brilliant Monopoly Revolution game, loads of money to spend, cookbooks, ear-rings, nail polish, and more. Thanks to everyone who got me something, you are all very kind.

On Saturday the fun didn't stop. first me & my friend Maddy went to a Robot workshop at Thorpe High school, which was really interesting, being able to make these football robots do what you wanted them to do. We then met up with the rest of the gang, and Alfie's friend Jo, and we all went off to Yarmouth to go on the Funfair. We'd been before so knoew what we wanted to go on, but at first Jo & Maddy were a bit nervous about anything too fast or scary. They soon got into it though, and we were soon driving our own cars on the Dodgems, which was brilliant fun (especially when we accidentally crashed into each other). Then we finally persuaded Jo & Maddy to come on the rollercoaster which is AWESOME. Well, after the best bit (you know, the 2nd dip), we thought that Maddy & Jo would never go on again, but they LOVED IT, and we went straight on again, and again. By the end of the day we must have been on it 5 or 6 times, and we'd totally forgotten to go on the Sky Drop (although we hear that Grandad is looking for someone to go on with him - just say when!). As you can see we all had a really great time - next time Alton Towers (maybe!).

We had to drop Daddy off at home as he wasn't feeling too well (he says it wasn't anything to do with the rides, but we're not so sure, cos Mummy also felt ill on the Waltsers, so maybe its just an old person thing)! Never mind, he missed out on a lovely McDonalds feast for tea, which pretty much finished us off, so it was straight to bed.

Finishing off the fun was a visit from Nanna - sadly, no Grandad or Tilly (as she had a funny tummy), but we still had a nice time with tea in the garden, as it was such a nice day. Unfortunately all that Sun & excitement caught up with me & I had a bit of a meltdown playing Monopoly, which spoilt it for everyone else - sorry.

For once I hope that next week is not as busy, as I don't think I could cope (especially as it is meant to be even hotter tomorrow). Lets hope its not too hot for when Alfie plays in his football match on Tuesday against Old Catton - good luck.

Just one final bit of Birthday stuff to go, a little get together for a few of my friends at my house & then Maddy is having a sleep over. Phew, just made it, before my eye lids closedddddddddddddddddddddddd

19/06/2011

Countdown to Caythorpe

Well, my things are all packed & ready to go - just one problem, I don't go for another 5 days! Excited, don't know what you mean, its not like I've been looking forward to my school trip for nearly a year - is it (well, maybe I have)! So just how wet & muddy we get is down to the weather, and how good, or rubbish, our raft is that we have to build. I'm also looking forward to all the outdoor activities - climbing, abseiling & canoeing - its going to be wicked, and I'm still on my trip on my birthday, how cool is that!

Talking about cool, I've had a couple of taster days at my new high school, and its been really good fun, doing some proper grown up stuff - we're even going to a robot workshop on Saturday (yes, school stuff on a Saturday, how about that!). My friend Maddie (who had Pepsi the kitten is also going, and she's going to be in my class which is really groovy. Its all starting to seem very real now, with only 5 weeks left at Brundall school - yikes.

Anyway enough of that, we've got an update on last week's mystery. It seems that the Cat most likely to be responsible for the latest lampshade slashing incident is........................... Nelly. She wasn't actually caught trying to finish the job, just taking a long, and close-up view of her handywork - with what definitely looked like a very guilty expression on her face - enough evidence as far as we're concerned. We did at one point think there might have been a completely new suspect - the amazing two-headed Cat, but after just one brief sighting, its never been seen again, so its possible, but unlikely.

Both me & Mummy need to try harder at our skiing, as neither of us got a medal at the latest ski race on Sunday. At least it was at Norwich so we didn't have far to travel feeling miserable. I decided to cheer myself up by going swimming with Daddy & Alf at Bungay & we had a great laugh on the inflatable with Dad trying to make us fall off. Mum, she went to sleep in the middle of the afternoon & slept for 3 hours!!!!!

So, by this time next week, I will have been to Caythorpe (and probably not slept for two days), be another year older & spent the day at Yarmouth Pleasure Beach - bring it on!

The Slasher Returns

Gosh, was it only just over a week ago that we were still in Shropshire - it seems ages ago already. Good to get back to school  catch up with our friends. We did learn that even when you think you know how do do something, you never can be too careful - here's the proof. Alf's friend Jo, his Mum was getting on, or off her bike in Blofield, and she fell & broke her arm & wrist - ouch! So, just to be clear, she wasn't even moving - so no high speed dare-devil crash involved, just a slow and not very spectacular (but embarrassing) fall onto the pavement, and OWWWWWWWW. Doesn't this show just how dangerous trying to exercise & keep fit is, cos poor Hannah wouldn't of broken her arm if, instead of going on a bike ride, she stayed at home and watched TV....mmmmmmm.

Anyway, so to this weeks main story, and yup, another paper lampshade has fallen victim to the shade slasher, with the evidence clear for everyone to see - but which one has got that guilty look on their face? None of them have so far confessed, so what shall we try next - waterboarding? Taliking about Cats, Pushca is still keeping herself to herself in the playhouse - sleeping for well over 20hours every day - incredible, and still hissing at any of the other Cats that comes anywhere near her - what a charmer!

Saturday was a bit of a nothing day with some tidying up and a quick trip to Norwich to get a few bits and pieces (some of them for my Birthday party.....getting closer!). I've decided for the other bit I'm going to Yarmouth Pleasure Beach with Maddie, and Alf can bring one of his friends, so we can all scream together on the rollercoaster - can't wait!

Finally, on Sunday Dad dragged us out on a 5 mile walk, but either we are getting fitter, or its just soooo much easier on the flat, as we seemed to get round in no-time (helped along by a series of 16 Geocaches, which we amazingly managed to find all of, which was a record for us). Even better, not only did we have some lovely chips (and scraps), but we got to run through a water sprayer in the field - superb fun!

05/06/2011

Shropshire Scorcher

We're back, just a bit older, and a bit more colourful - thanks to some roasting hot weather at our campsite in deepest Shropshire (only about 3 miles from a foreign country (Wales). As we'd done most of the packing on Sunday, we didn't have too much to do before we left on Monday - just wait for our live-in Cat sitter (Grandma, as she's normally known) to arrive. Grumps was also in the car, but he was driving on to Eastbourne to do some more work on the shop, and of course (as usual) he was going to be camping in the basement!

So off we went for the usual 200 miles drive across the country, and into rain - lots of rain (not good). Fotrunately the other side of Birmingham it started to look a bit brighter, and by the time we got to our campsite, just outside a little town called Bishops Castle, it was dry, and even the Sun was trying to shine. Robert & Rowan were there, and we quickly got into what would become the routine of the week - Robert & Alfie playing football & me & Rowan messing about doing our own thing.

The tent was soon up, the Car unpacked and a great bonus this time - a fire pit, which we ended up using every day of the holiday.

So what did we get up to then, well:

Day 1 - A 5 mile walk from our campsite in a big loop around Bishops Castle, ending up back in the town & the chance to stock up on a few supplies (including some sweets, of course). We had a quick & delicious Curry tea & then went out again on a walking tour of the town to learn all about the history of the buildings & the people that used to live there - finishing off with a well deserved drink in a Pub!

Day 2 - Another 5 mile walk, and this time we had to drive into Wales and then out again, to get to where we had to start. We walked to some standing stones - sort of a very miniature Stonehenge, where there was also a story about a magical Cow, and a Witch or something, it was all a bit odd really! On the way back to the Car, we started another daily craze (the search for fire wood, for our fire pit. So we ended up dragging big bits of wood back to the cars and filling our roof box full - Grumps would have been proud. We then went into Wales again to a nice little place called Montgomery (or Monty as we obviously called it).

Day 3 - Another 5ish mile walk (they were beginning to feel longer & longer every day), this time starting in Newcastle (but we couldn't see the football ground anywhere, and it seemed very small for a Premier League club! Yes, yes, we know that the big Newcastle is nowhere near Wales - we're just kidding! We did finish by walking down part of an earth wall that some guy called King Offar build long, long ago, along the whole of the edge of Wales (over 190 miles) to keep the Welsh out, which is clearly not working anymore! We finished off with a lovely paddle in the river at the funnily named village of Clun, that Shelly & Tom told us we had to say with our fist on our forehead - strange, but we went along with it.

Day 4 - This was a beast of a walk - lots of uphill, and even more stinging nettles. Rowan got stung a few time and I think you could have heard the shrieks back in East Anglia - luckily there were lots of Dock leaves about to take the sting away a bit. We found a good Geocache though at an Iron Age fort called Bury Ditches (which was all there was left really), and we did some good trash trading. When we finished we had the chance to cool our feet in a lovely ford, which after a little while made your feet go a bit numb. Despite this, Alf was up for Tom's challenge to sit in the stream for a whole minute - which he did (just), and earned himself £1 (which he very quickly spent on sweets).

So, incredibly after only 4 whole days of walking, endless games of football (mainly Robert & Alf - with Dad in goal), real burgers, sausages & marshmallows on our fire pit, it was nearly time to go back home. Just enough time to go to the local swimming pool for a spot of family fun (which was great). We had the pool completely to ourselves to start with, then after they'd taken the floats away, they opened the diving board, and we got to go crazy.

Then the great pack up, and the seemingly endless drive back home (which actually took less than 4 hours), a quick fish & chip tea & time for bed. The Cats were all fine, and the Kitten's had learned to get along and play nicely - which can't be said for Grandma's Cat Pushca, who was also staying & had to live in the Play house as she just hissed at everyone - charming!

Opal & Merlot have now gone back to their new home, so we are back to 4 Cats again (as Grandma's Cat - Pushca) is staying with us while she travelled to Eastbourne on the train, to meet up with Grumps, for more work on the shop & a trip to see Connie & Catherine in Hampshire. So, we've got to get ready for another 7 weeks of school, then 7 weeks of holiday - the countdown to Summer (and my birthday, has begun).

A Garden to Remember

So, my last ever week before a half-term holiday in Brundall school, and in class there really isn't much to talk about - just the normal Girly rubbish! At least a few of us got to do something really interesting & worthwhile after School - planting a very special garden, in memory of Mrs ia teacher who sadly died earlier this year from Cancer - and she was only 50 something - very sad. The garden is a miniature Japanese style garden and we stayed until after 8 o'clock one evening with Miss Peers, to make sure it looked really nice.

After my recent trip into Norwich with Dad & my friend Maddie, we got to go shopping again, this time on our own (how grown up). Daddy dropped me at Maddie's house & we went shopping while Alf & Dad went home & started to get things together for our camping trip next week. We had a great time going into all our favourite shops - taking as long as we wanted, and not being hasstled by bored Brothers, or Dad's - fab. I'd really liked Maddie's shoes when I saw here the opther week, so just had to buy myself a pair - a whole £3 from Primark - bargain!

Dad then came back & picked me up, and we got a Chinese tea, as Mum was going out to see some of her teacher friends. I had another surprise when I got back - one of the Kitten's (Moet) was back, just for a visit (along with his new Kitten friend called Opal. They just wanted to be friends with Runty, Nelly & Maddie, but they kept getting hissed at growled at - charming!

Sunday was work, work, work, as we got everything together for our camping trip. Luckily it was a nice dry day, so we got the car well & truly loaded up (not sure how we'll fit in!), all ready for our 200 mile trip on Monday. Fingers crossed for good weather to put the tent up, and so we can spend the whole time outdoors messing about with our Cousins. Whatever you are doing this half-term, have fun friends.

Ralph the Runt

Fudge &  Florie went to their new home with our old friends Saffron & Sammy on Saturday, so we've gone from 10 Kittens, to just one - Runty, or Ralph, as Alf has decided to call him. He doesn't seem too bothered that all his Brothers & Sisters have gone, as he's getting lots of fuss from Mum (our Mum, not Maddie!). Now he doesn't have to fight for his food he's definitely growing faster than he did before (so how much longer he'll really be Runty, we'll have to see). Hopefully there will be plenty of pictures of the other Kittens on Facebook, so we can check out how they are all getting on.

Otherwise it was pretty quiet week at School - Alfie didn't get punched again (always good), and the only real highlight was that we have got to make some plans for a garden at School with a full-size boat in it, that will look like the one on our school badge. We've been looking everywhere for spare Red & Blue paint, but so far, nothing - so the search goes on.

On Saturday me Dad & Alf went into Norwich to see my friend Maddie, and do some shopping. We had a really good time as we took our bikes and went zooming about the middle of Norwich which was really fun. We got my skiing friend Hannah a birthday present, some books from the Library (and what a huge Library it is), as well as some lovely smelly sticks that you burn, to stop the house smelling of Cat wee! Maybe Nanna & Grandad could get some for Tilly.

After stopping for some lovely chips on the market, Dad challenged Alfie to get a Geocache, which sounded easy - until he showed us where it was...... up in the branches of a huge tree. Dad helped him up the first bit, and he was then on his own, going up & up - finally reaching the very clever hiding place. There was nothing special in the cache but just getting it was really great - and Maddy thought it was really cool - we'll have to take her out with us again.

O.M.G, me and Mum had a very early start on Sunday (up at half 5 in the morning!), as we were off ski racing in Welwyn, which is two hours away in the car. I made just enough noise to wake Dad up, who didn't get back to sleep, or so he says (sorry!). We got to Welwyn, but didn't ski our best and I came 7th out of over 20 people. Some of the racers in my group were definitely in the wrong category, as they were much older. Mum came 4th in her group, so no medals for the first time in a long while - booooooooo.

Alf & Dad has the day to themselves & played a bit of football, went to a DIY shop, and the camping shop, for a new walking pole (as I think we'll need it next week in Shropshire). I wonder if we'll beat last year's distance of walking over 30 miles - not in one day though, obviously!

Dad then cooked a lovely chicken curry for tea (a Korma, which is our favourite), and we all crashed out early, as we were really, really tired................................

SAT-tastic (Not!)

O.M.G, my poor little brain. Questions, questions & more questions, yup that was my SAT's. At least they are all done now, and they weren't too bad (not all of them anyway) - some of the Maths questions I actually enjoyed, but literacy, mmmmmmm..... we'll see. We won't know how we did for another few weeks, so all we can do is wait, any not worry about them...... worry about what? (see I'd forgotten already!).

Alf has been doing really well at School as well and has actually got more Yellow Cards (which you get for doing good things) than me. It wasn't all good though, one of his sort of friends got angry during a lunchtime football match & punched him! So Alfie got to see inside the Headmaster's office (but at least he wasn't being told off, but being apologised to - Boys eh!).

We did think about going to see the Norwich football team who were going to ride through Norwich on a bus, but as Alf was at football practice we couldn't make it. Lucky we didn't actually as there we 40,000 people there (that is nearly the whole of the football ground filled up twice - how mental is that! We got to see the best bits on TV, and got a special bit of the newspaper that has all about the season it, which we are going to keep - OTBC.

Lots more Kitten's have gone to their new homes (another 5 went on Saturday), so now only Fudge, Florie & Runty are left. Maddie didn't really care, but Nellie has been wandering about a bit looking for the ones that have gone - ah, bless her.

It my my friend Annalise's Birthday recently, and we went out in Norwich on Saturday to have our hair styled in a salon, and lunch at a place called Fatso's. They did my hair really nicely with some loose curls, and this groovy pink flower clip - very grown up (if I say so myself). Now I really need to start thinking what I'd like to do on my birthday...... mmmmmm decisions, decisions.

We got to see Nanna & Grandad's new Puppy, and what a bundle of fun Tilly is. She is a Cocker Spaniel, but won't be as crazy as Masie (or I'm sure they hope she won't be). They had only picked her up the day before, and she was already making herself at home by weeing on their carpet - whoops!.

Going, Going, Gone

So, the day we knew was coming, finally arrived - but what was it?

  • Tidy up our bedrooms

  • Polish our school shoes

  • Wash Mum & Dad's Cars

No, nothing so energetic, but still hard - the first of the Kitten's went to their new homes.

So, Tom & Pepsi are causing mischief & mayhem with their new families. Luckily, I've already seen some pictures of Pepsi on Facebook & she was having a great time.

And did the other Kittens, or Nellie miss then......NO. They even sat around watching as they were put into their carry cases. They were probably thinking - great, more food & attention for the rest of us then - just they wait until its their turn, which won't be long.

They have all been having a lovely time exploring the back garden, and were really puzzled by all these extra branches on the ground after Daddy had cut the hedge down to size - good work. We helped to shred the branches, using this wicked machine that Dad had borrowed, that mashed the braches up into small pieces, but still enough to fill up our Brown bin right to the top! What on earth do Grandad & Grumps do with all the stuff off their hedges, as they are huge compared to ours?

Otherwise, not much to tell really, just to ask that you wish me luck, as I've got my SAT tests at School over the next week, so I'll be answering loads of questions that will probably make my head hurt - at least I get to bring a Teddy along, so if I don't know the answer, I'm sure he will - fingers & toes crossed.

Double Celebration

What a week! First, back to School & us catching up with our friends & their Easter activities. Alfies' friend Jo went to Wales, and stayed quite close to where we went last Summer. they had some nice weather, probably better than we did in August - typical! Then we had our Royal Wedding day at School - we dressed up in Red, White & Blue clothes and had a special royal lunch.

And of course it was Daddy's birthday - he's now as old as Mummy, a proper ancient 42 years old! As usual, he was at work before we even woke up, so we had to wait until teatime to give him his cards & presents.

He did pretty well, a load of lovely cards (ours were hand-made of course), a lovely sweatshirt from Mum - FatFace, of course, some chocolates from us (which we ate most of), and some money from Grandma & Grumps - which he's going to put towards a new drill - great!

Another good thing was our curry tea, from the lovely take-away in Acle. Something new this time, Mummy ordered in on the computer, and someone brought it to our house - amazing! And it was delicious. We've got a new favourite - Chicken Korma..... its sooooo tasty.

On Royal Wedding day, did we sit in front of the TV and watch it? No, we went to Thetford & did some biking in the woods. It was really good fun - not many people about and lots of twisty tracks to go on, and it didn't feel like the 12 miles that Dad said it was (at the end!) - definitely the Black run again next time!

We did get a bit into the Royal Wedding, sort of, as we dropped in to see Jo & Adam who were having a street party outside their house. We had a good laugh, and got to eat a load of sweets & cakes - yum!

Then me & Mum went ski racing (as you do on a hot April day!), this time a National race, with people even travelling from Wales to compete. We both did pretty well, as don't forget I'm now in an older age group, so I'm now one of the youngest. Despite this clear disadvantage, I came 3rd. Mummy came 2nd in her category, so she was well pleased with herself. not only did we get a prize on the day, but we also get a free try at Go-Karting near Beccles, which I'm really looking forward to.

We then had a really boring tidy up day (it was needed though as the house was a real mess, with only a big game of football down the park being remotely interesting.

On our last holiday day we were dragged out on a Geocaching walk that we thought we'd hate, but it turned out to be pretty good. We found this great slide under an old bridge, and the Geocaches were really tricky. Alfie did brilliantly to find a couple that were incredibly well hidden - definitely a series we'll be recommending to our Geocaching chums. We were rewarded for our good walking with some delicious chips in Wroxham.

When we got home we watched in amazement as Cardiff lost at home to Middlesborough, which meant that Norwich only needed to win against Portsmouth to be promoted to the Premiership - incredible! And thanks to Sky, we got to see the match, and guess what - THEY WON. At the end the players & the fans went completely bonkers, running on the pitch and jumping all over each other. We can't believe it, and I bet Grandma can't either, only last season we were watching them against Stockport & Leyton Orient, and next season they'll be playing Arsenal, Chelsea & Manchester United - O.M.G.

Fun-tastic Easter

What a great last half to our Easter holiday, great weather & lots of getting out and having a good time.

We went bowling with some friends & had a right laugh. I did quite well in the first game, and scored over 120, and won. Not so good the second time - less than 70, and last. Alfie did OK, he only played the seconds game, and managed to beat me.

I also went to the Dinosaur Park, for the first time in ages, with Annalise & some of her friends. We had a lovely time running around everywhere, and just messing about really - a good Girly day out.

As we were going to visit Robert & Rowan for Easter, Grandma came over to look after the Cats. As she came over on Thursday, we all listened to Norwich v Ipswich on the radio, and what an incredible match! Norwich beat Ipswich 5-1, and they were playing at Ipswich - amazing. Uncle Ben will be gutted, as he is an Ipswich supporter - shame!

The long trip to Worcester was well worth it as we had an amazing time with Robert, Rowan, Tom, Shelly & of course mad Masey.

  • Paddling up the river on a cool canoe like boat, and helped people get their boats through a lock. We had a classic moment when Robert fell in as the boat drifted away from the bank - proper you've been framed stuff! As it was a hot day, when we got bak, we decided to cool off by jumping into the river - OMG, it was cold! Tom also went in, but mainly to find his sunglasses that he dropped (and found - lucky Boy!).

  • A brilliant Easter egg treasure hunt, all around Robert & Rowan's house, and found a whole load of lovely stuff to eat, and some groovy watches.

  • We visited a Castle, where there were people dressed up as real Knights, who had proper fights with Swords & spears, which was really cool - cos we all really like History, and it really made us think about what it must have been like in the olden days.

  • And of course some Geocaching, a lovely walk with 10 caches, and for a change we found each & every one of them - even the bonus!

As always, its all too soon time to come home, and another 3-4 hour journey (made all the better as Norwich scored another late, late goal to beat Derby & stay in 2nd place, with only 2 games left to play - OTBC).

Grandma had a nice time looking after all the Cats, and got the chance to go to Strumpshaw Fen to see the Birds (and have a weekend away from Grumps!)

So, it's back to School tomorrow. I wonder what tales our chums have got to tell of their Easter hols - we can't wait to find out.

Now we can 'Believe in Better'

Now, that was a good first week on holiday. We had a great time staying at Nanna & Grandad's caravan in Kesingland, and we even got to see Robert & Rowan one day - bonus.

As we are now site regulars, we pretty much look after ourselves, but the things we remember were:

Football (and another easy victory 10-0 in one game, and 2-0 when Robert was playing - we're on a roll!).

Roller Skating - (I'm getting pretty good now & can whizz about the site, faster than Alf can run!)

Penny Arcades - we swapped some of our tokens for toys, and got lots of little things - some of which we gave to Robert & Rowan (cos we're nice like that!)

Bingo - We played the real thing, for money - rather than the fun stuff we usually do. It was really exciting, and FAST, you didn't have time to do anything but concentrate on the numbers. We didn't win, but came close a couple of times, and we really want to play again.

When we came home on Friday, Daddy had managed to keep all the Kitten's happy & well fed - even little Runty looked just a bit fatter.

The big surprise was that we've now got Sky TV, so we can 'Believe in Better'. Not only Sky, but Sky in High Definition, which means the picture is extra detailed, and it is amazing. The first thing we watched was Norwich playing against Nottingham Forest (which we wouldn't have been able to see before) and the picture was incredible - you can see every blade of grass, and the colours were so...... Green & Yellow!!!!!! And the great thing, Norwich won 2-1, even after they let in a mad goal when the ball bounced of a Forest player, when John Ruddy tried to boot the ball away. Of course, Grant Holt scored a goal, and Norwich went back into 2nd place - until Cardiff won their game on Saturday - boo. Next game is against Ipswich on Thursday - Come on City!

So our weekend was spent watching a bit more telly than normal (all for research & culture purposes of course), that's why we watched the Real Madrid v Barcelona game, which was a bit rubbish actually!

Not sure what we are doing next week, hopefully a few bits and pieces to keep us out of mischief, before we go over to see Robert & Rowan on Good Friday. Have fun whatever you are doing chums, and get your tummies ready for all that Easter chocolate!.

The Brundall Bugler

Another School term over, that means when I go back, it'll be my last ever term at Brundall Primary School - whoa!

No, the Bugler is not another musical instrument I'm learning to play - the Saxophone is quite enough (for everyone's ears!) although my version of the EastEnders theme tune is coming on nicely, if I say so myself. No, its a newsletter that we put together at School and circulate around the village, and this month I'm in twice.

Football Skills - Our School football team that played at Carrow park, but didn't reach the finals (an action picture of me about to kick the ball)

Good Work for Charity - A short piece about some fund raising we did for people with Leprosy, which sounds like a really nasty disease, that I definitely wouldn't want to get.

Further bad news on the football front as well, Alfie's Soccer Stars lost in their match against Hillside school (2-0). It seems everyone wanted to be in attack, and no-one in defence, so no surprise they got beat then!

Daddy went off to Eastborne to put some lights in Grandma's shop - always handy to be able to see in a shop! We didn't expect to see him until Saturday, but he worked really hard, and was able to come back on Thursday night (before we'd had a chance to tidy up - which we were going to do - honest!).

We are going to stay at the Kessingland caravan next week, so Daddy will have to look after the Kittens - we're sure he'll really enjoy feeding and fussing them! And as you know, we are still looking to find homes for the last 4 Kittens, so chums, if you know anyone out there looking for one of our gorgeous Kittens, just let us know.

Now, That's What School Should be Like

Ah, what a lucky couple of youngsters we are - we both got to go on School outings this week (both very different, but somehow connected - mysterious eh!)

I went to Grimes Graves, but didn't see any skeletons. What it was though was a hole in the ground (that you had to climb down this very steep ladder to get into), where they used to dig out the flint from. They used this flint, which is very, very sharp for their arrows and spears, so as you can tell it was a long, long time ago. We learned some really interesting stuff, and we got to dig for our own bits of flint, which we were able to bring home. We then carried on our investigations with an Archaeological dig in part of the school playing field, and found a few bits and pieces, that no-one had seen for years & years - pretty cool really.

Alfie went to the theatre (so how can they be connected, I know you are thinking), well he saw Horrible Histories, which explained all about the Romans, and other really cool historical stuff like Queen Bodicea, so now you can see that the two things are linked by history.

Replacing the Geocache has certainly worked as it has been found loads of times in the last couple of weeks - is it too easy now, or just more people getting out, now the weather is warmer?

Talking of warmer weather, we went over to see Nanna & Grandad at their Kessingland caravan, so it must be proper Springtime now. Me and Alf played some more football, and again got challenged to a match by some older kids - just like at Brundall the other week. And just like the other week, we beat them, just as easily, with both me & Alf scoring some well good goals!!!

On the Kitten front, what can we say, they are getting livelier & livelier every day, and we are now trying them on some proper food, which some of them like - mind you, anything that smells that bad can't be good!

The Great Cat Giveaway

Another week in the Cat house, and the older ones are really growing fast. It seems impossible that they were only born two weeks ago. Things have definitely settled down - they no longer pick up the Kittens & drag them all about the house - so the Kitchen has become the official Cat Nursery.

Maddie & Nelly still help each other out with feeding and washing the Kittens - we wonder if they even know who's are who's anymore, perhaps we should test them!

Daddy is more relieved that his house is not going to over-run with Cats, as we've started to find homes for some of the Kittens. So far, all of Nelly's kittens will be going to their new homes when they are 8 weeks old, in just 6 weeks from now, and two of Maddie's younger ones have also been snapped up - 6 down, 4 to go!!!

Only a couple of other things to mention really - cos yes our world is all Cats, Cats, Cats. Nanna & Grandad came over to see us (or probably the Cats really), and thought they were really cute. Poor old Grandad looked like he'd been in a boxing match, as he'd tripped over and bashed his face - ouch! Their caravan is all ready for its first full season, so me & Alf are looking forward to getting over their soon, and playing on the amusements!

The only other thing was that someone left our Geocache in the wrong place, and Daddy & Alfie had to go & rescue it before it was Muggled.. They have found an even better hiding place this time, but nearly had some explaining to do as some Man who was doing a survey in the Woods wondered what they were doing....... so they just looked as innocent as they could, and said 'nothing' - and they got away with it. Lucky really as a couple of people have since found it - phew.

I'm off to Grimes Graves tomorrow with school, so I'll tell you al about my trip into a flint mine next time, and I'm sure there'll be more Cat tales.

Kittens - Part II

O.M.G, you know last week we joked about their being TEN Cats in our house, well you are not going to believe it - we've got TWELVE. Yes, 12 - TEN Kittens & their two Mummies - completely un-believable!!!!!!

Maddie had her six Kittens on Saturday - exactly a week after Nelly had hers, and its been completely bonkers ever since. There have been Kittens all over the place - being picked up and carried about everywhere - sometime not even by their real Mummy - its completely mental. Most of the time they are in one or two heaps on the Kitchen floor where they've been left - what is it going to be like when they are up on their feet!!!!!!

The older Kittens look a lot more Cat like now, and Maddie's look like little rats - harsh but fair we think. Nearly all the older ones have now opened their eyes, but without strong legs, they still have really no control, or idea where they are going.

So, what do the new Kittens look like, well definitely different to Nelly's, and more pattered, just like their Mummy - have a look for yourself.

Other than School, and the usual stuff, our week has been taken over by Kitten watching - especially after the new ones came along, as the 1st night Nelly decided to 'borrow' one of Maddie's Kitten's - perhaps to even up the numbers, and whenever Maddie's Kitten's start squealing - its often Nelly who goes to see them 1st - what a strange pair.

The only other highlight was a trip to see Grandma & Grumps, and thanks to the first warm weekend in ages we were able to spend loads of time playing football in the garden. Talking of football, we got challenged to a game against these two older Boys at the park on Saturday (who clearly expected to thrash us), but what happened - we beat them 7 - 0, and at the end the Boys were completely exhausted - result!!!!

13/03/2011

Kittens - Part I

We've got one less fat-Cat now as Nellie had her Kittens on Saturday - FOUR of them. Two of them are similar colours to her - as sort of Brown / Ginger mix, while the other two are dark Grey.

She spent the first night in a special box that we'd made for her, but that obviously wasn't quite right. How could I tell? At 6:30 on Sunday morning I was woken up by the tiny squeaks of new-born Kittens, as they were being carried into my bedroom by their Mummy. Where was she going? Into my wardrobe - the pyjama section to be exact, and there she stayed. I did try taking the Kittens back to their box, but Nellie just followed me & brought them right back - so we gave up.

They are sooooo cute, with their little crunched up faces (I looked up that they don't open their eyes for the first few days), so no wonder they are falling all over each other trying to get to Mummy for some Milk.

Maddie hasn't really had anything to do with them, and must be getting close to having her own Kitten's now - I wonder how many she'll have, and what colours they'll be? Could we have a house of TEN Cats by the weekend???? definitely O.M.G.

The only other thing to say is that Alfie's Soccer Stars (Elite) won their latest match, against Woodside school (4-3) with Alfie setting up two of the goals, and his friend Joe doing some fantastic goalkeeping - awesome!.

With all this excitement going on, what does Dad do? - you guessed it - DIY. He's completely ripped the shower room to pieces, there is no shower, no tiles, big holes in the floor, and the dust in there UNBELIEVABLE! I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end, and anyway, it keeps him out of any other mischief.

So stay tuned for the second instalment of Kitten news, which could happen at any time. Anyone want a Kitten? Free to a good home!

Fat Cats

O.M.G, just how much fatter can Nellie get, she is more like a Whale than a Cat! Now we're wondering just how many Kitten's there might be in her tummy - we could have a right house full! I'm not so sure we'll be seeing any more of her crazy climbing (see last week) for a while, as she spends most of the time zonked out, trying to get comfortable - what an easy life, even for a Cat.

I think she'll have three babies, and Alfie & Daddy think two - who knows, next week we might be able to tell you for definite - keep reading.

Otherwise, it really was a nothing week. Yes, good to see our School friends again, got to Drama, Soccer Stars (Elite), Art Club, Swimming & Skiing. But for me that was clearly not enough, as I went to a youth club in Norwich on Friday evening, whivh is run by one of the teachers at our School. Some of my friends go there & had a good time, so hopefully I can get Daddy to take me there again......pleeeeeeese!

Fingers crossed that Spring is just around the corner, as Daddy & Alfie did some gardening on Sunday, so if it gets really cold again everything will probably now die, as they had a good hack at a few plants - they called it tidying up....mmmmmmm.

Pancake day next week, so a good chance for me to practice my kitchen skills, and for me & Alf to stuff our faces with pancakes & Golden Syrup - De-lishus!!!

27/02/2011

Rain, Rain Go Away!

Well, our finger crossing didn't do much good at keeping the rain away last week - I think it rained every day of our holiday. The only good thing - we weren't camping!!!

Shame though, we didn't really do very much that is worth telling you all about. Who wants to hear about shopping trips to Norwich, and food shopping at Sainsbury's? We did though go and see our Dragon in the Forum in the middle of Norwich & he looks fantastic - what a star attraction.

We did play outside as much as the weather allowed, as I need to practice my football skills, as my school football team won a tournament the other week ,and the next round is next week some time. As my tackling is petty good now, its just my passing & shooting that need to get better. Dad is getting me some astro-turf trainers like Alfie so I'll have lots of grip & no excuses for playing rubbish - wish us luck when we play on the pitches at the back of Norwich City's stadium - OTBC!

Maddie & Nelly are getting fatter & fatter, and you would have thought this would have slowed them down & made them less nosey, but as you can see it hasn't.

Mummy had a project to do at the weekend (and was probably also looking to have a break from us), so Dad looked after us, and took us to the places that Mummy had talked about, but never got round to. So on Saturday we went to Funky Monkeys, and we had 2 hours on this massive indoor play area which was fab, and sooooo HOT. A cold drink has never tasted so delicious!

On Sunday, and Mummy was still doing her project (after going skiing - of course), so we went swimming at Riverside and made a fab floating bridge of floats nearly halfway across the pool. We also went diving for lost treasure at the bottom of the pool, and found a selection of hair grips & 60p!

So, not the most memorable of holidays, but a week off to recharge our batteries, and get ready for another punishing 6 weeks at School, until Easter, then it'll be my very last term at Primary school - yikes!

Midnight Racers

Wicked! another holiday, only 4 weeks after our last one. O.M.G, was it reallu only 5 weeks ago that we were skiing in France, it seems likes so long ago already. Although they had some new snow, thank God we don't go when the Frenchies are on holiday, it gets sooooooo busy - the queues are massive, there would be no time left to ski!!!!!

Before we talk some more about skiing, a quick word about the last week at school. I got some good feedback from my class on the project I'd done on Amanda Seyfreid (she is the main character in Mamma Mia!). Daddy did help if I'm honest, but I was a bit upset as he did take over a bit at the end, changing some of the stuff that I'd done, which I thought was fine - Mr perfect!!!!!!   We ended the week with a fab school disco, where both me & Alf went and danced until we nearly collapsed (even though it was still only 7 o'clock!).

Back to the skiing then, which is about the only interesting thing going on at the moment (other than the possibility of our Cats being pregnant), although we are still not sure. Yes, they are definitely fatter round the tummy, but Google (who knows the answer to everything) said that they are only pregnant for nine weeks, so if they are, it must be anytime now - could be interesting then!

So, the skiing then, and something a bit different, a slalom race, but this time at night. Alfie went in the morning for some practice, while I stayed at home, with Mummy still in bed (until after 10 o'clock) - LAZY! We spent the day wishing the time away, so got to the ski club nice & early for some practice on the slope, but not on the actual course as that would be cheating - then the competition began.......

And after 3 runs, how do you think we did?

Mummy - 2nd place (although the lady that won actually missed on of the gates on her fastest run, so Mummy should really have won!)

Alfie - 2nd place (a brilliant result, as Alfie had been put into the racers group. If he was in the non-racers, he would have won!)

Me - 1st place (what else did you expect - speedy Edie does it again!)

We didn't get home until nearly 11 o'clock, so no time to do anything than look at our medals, and sleep..........

A lovely surprise on Sunday, a rare visit from Cousin's Sophie & Naomi, and the chance to do some crafty stuff while the grown ups talked about stuff. They'd been to see Nanna & Grandad, who are getting a Dog - AWESOME! I think I heard them say a Cocker Spaniel, but not a working one - whatever that looks like!

Now we've just got a week of holiday to fill. Alfie's hoping that its not raining so he can play football, and I can see my friends in the village - fingers crossed.!

13/02/2011

New Ski Kid on the Block?

Monty will be pleased - they've finally had some new snow in France, a month after the last white stuff came down - now he can become a powder hound, as well as a black run mogul skier!

Talking about skiing, Alfie continued his great on-snow form, and raced to 3rd place in the latest club race (a Giant Slalom course), just a second behind the Gold medal winner. He was fast, but not quite fast enough, as my time was a whole 1.5 seconds faster than his, and I got 2nd place, and another Silver medal. I have to say that he was looking good - nice smooth turns, so maybe I do need to start going to Race training again, just to get my edge back again, cos I clearly can't have little Alfie beating any of my times!!!

Onto more gentle things - our Art Club. We've finally finished the Dragon that we've been working on for weeks & weeks, and doesn't it look fantastic. Each scale has been individually decorated, and is unique. The Dragon will be on display at the Forum (in the middle of Norwich) as part of the Norwich Dragon Festival, so hopefully lots of people will come and see it - hope they like it.

We finally got to see Grandma & Grumps again (the first time since our holiday, and maybe this year). They've both been busy at this shop that Grandma owns in Eastborn, which we'd be interested to see. They've spent ages mending & painting so it must have been a real mess, and now must look great. Grumps was explaining how they have got tents indoors (in the downstairs bit), which seems very weird, and only something that Grumps could dream up!

There might be something going on with our Cat Nellie, who we think could be pregnant (as she's got a bit fat round the middle) and definitely isn't as crazy as she used to be - what a young mother she'll be, not even a year old!

Punk Cat!

Obviously, we shouldn't have started mentioning how well Norwich were doing, as they lost on Saturday, for the first time this year, and have slipped from 2nd to 4th - we'll keep quiet now & hopefully they'll start winning again!

Not a whole lot else to say really, just another one of those weeks at School. Although Dad keeps getting on at me to do my project homework, but I've got another 2 weeks yet - plenty of time. We had to chose an actor or actress to research, and I chose the main character out of Mamma Mia (Amanda Seyfried), as I love the film & think she was fab in it. I just want to go onto the Internet and copy stuff into my presentation, but Dad is making we change it all around - nightmare.

Oh, before I forget, here are a couple of pictures from our Wizard of Oz assembly last week , and yes as I said, I'm Glenda, the good Witch.

The only other thing to say, is that Maddie clearly got bored of being White and Brown / Ginger, and decided she needed to make more of a statement, by adding some GREEN, to some of her Paws and tummy - interesting look. That'll teach her for climbing on the table in the middle of our art / craft work. Despite Mummy putting her in the bath its taking ages to come off - will it ever?

Lastly, on Sunday I didn't fancy ski race training, after Nellie woke me up really early by jumping on my bed! Mum went, so later we went out on our bikes and found 5 new Geocaches around Brundall & Blofield. One was right tricky, and we only found it when Alfie decided he wanted to climb the tree, and there it was.

Incredibly, there has been no new snow in Allos since we were there, so it must be so rock hard & icy now - maybe we didn't have it too bad after all. Which reminds us, we must find out how Monty has been getting on with his skiing, probably now doing Black runs - with his eyes closed!!!!

Holiday Hangover

We're both thinking that our holiday was a dream, as it already seems like ages ago, and we are starting to forget about some of the things we did  - is it our old age, or our busy lives?

All our friends were pleased to see us back at School, especially as we brought back some sweets (we know how to keep ourselves popular!). It was striaght back into the usual routine of Drama Club, Soccer Stars &  Swimming, which seemed almost a tiring as going skiing - how do we manage it week after week? Perhaps these school holidays every 6-8 weeks are necessary after all (both for the teachers & us kids!).

The highlight of the week was the class assembly, where I got to play the part of Glenda (the good Witch of the East), and speak the lines that I'd been practicing on holiday. Our story was based upon the Wizard of Oz, but I don't remember Glenda being in it - I'm sure I would of remembered as she was a Pink Witch. Anyway, it went OK, I only got one of my lines a bit wrong but no-one seemed to notice.

We got a nice card from Monty & Connie saying thank you for their Maths Monkey Christmas presents (the very first foreign Monkeys I think - hope they don't have to go into quarantine when they come back to England!).

Auntie Catherine also gave us an update on Monty's skiing - and he's really coming on fast now. The week we were there he did his first ski down Champons (with us showing him all the cool tracks by the snow cannons & through the trees), now only two weeks later he's got himself not only to the top of the new 4-man chairlift, but somehow, all the way to the top of the mountain, on the draglift - IMPRESSIVE. Only one small setback, in a ski lesson he was having he got bored of waiting for the other kids and skied off. The instructor had to send someone to get him, and take his skis off so he couldn't 'get away' again - Go Monty, go!

Good to see that Ipswich got beaten by Arsenal, and knocked out of the cup, in the semi-final.....ahhhhhhhhhhh, shame. With Norwich now 2nd in the Championship, things are lookin' good - Come on you Yellows!

Mountain Mash-Up

O.M.G, what a couple of weeks we've just had - it seems impossible that we crammed so much into so little time - no wonder we are so shattered!

First thing to mention (obviously), was Mummy's birthday, although it was a bit different as we were getting ready to go on holiday. We still managed to get all her presents sorted out (well wrapped actually, as she'd chosen them herself!). Daddy had been away with work during the week, so was at home on Friday & took us to School (so Mummy could have a lie in) - how sweet!

Then it was a last mad rush to get everything sorted, and loaded into the car, as we had to be awake again at 2 o'clock in the morning - yup, 2 o'clock - hardly worth going to bed really (but we did - eventually). Before it felt our eyes had even closed, it was time to get up again - not that we wanted to, it was HORRIBLE. Luckily we were able to sleep in the car on the journey to the airport. It is amazing that these places never stop - the airports, the carparks, the buses - all day, every day, its another world.

A bit more awake we arrived, parked the car, got to the airport, checked in, and thought about breakfast, all before 6 o'clock 9on a Saturday morning! After a pretty boring flight, and an OK trip up the mountain (thanks to our Ambulance driving taxi man), we arrived at the chalet, and our cousin's Monty & Connie were going bonkers with excitement! The Sun was shining & there was snow on the ground (although it was very hard), and we had a week to play around in it - FANTASTIC.

Just enough time to sort our ski lift passes out, have some tea, swap Christmas presents (we got some godie bags full of lovely French sweets - yum), and then it was straight to bed, for a well earned kip.

Day 1 - We spent the day in Seignus, getting our ski legs going and hitting some of our favourite runs - Champons & La Serra. It seems that the nice weather had brought lots of the locals out as well, and we actually had to wait for the lift sometimes - unbelievable.

Day 2 - Off to La Foux on the bus and a day of messing about in the fun park, and on our favourite run from the top, but this year there was no SkierCross track which was well disappointing, as it was really good fun last year.

Day 3 - A brand new adventure for us all, a trip right to the other side of the ski area, all the way to Pra Loup, and back. Uncle Ben tagged along as our resident ski guide, which was very helpful as once we got over the top, there were so many runs to choose from, so he helped us find the best bits. We skied all day, only stopping for a bit of lunch and an afternoon drink, not getting back to the chalet until after 5 o'clock - what a fab day.

Day 4 - Another day on home mountain, as poor Mummy's boots were hurting her feet, and she had to hire some bigger ones (ski instructors, you can't take them anywhere!). We had another adventure, with us all skiing down the best run in Allos - Valcibiere, which is long, and very steep in places, but really good fun - especially the side slip down the ice to start with! As it was Catherine's night off from cooking, Daddy made a meat fondue, with lovely fat chips & lots of ketchup, which we all had fun cooking out own food with, followed by something even better - a chocolate fondue, with fruit & marshmallows - BOOTIFUL!

Day 5 - We were planning to go over to Pra Loup again but we got to the top and the piste was closed, so we headed down again. We weren't too disappointed as the weather had turned much colder and we got frozen just getting up there. Luckily it was warmer down in the village & we spent the rest of the morning messing about in the funpark again, and got the bus back to Allos in the afternoon for a quick final hour.

Day 6 - Where has the time gone - incredible. And where has the nice weather gone as well. Yes, it was still sunny, but at -15 degrees at the top of Valcibiere, even we weren't going to give it one last go. What we did do though were a couple of black runs that we'd not done before, and boy were they hard & very icy - we've still got the scraping noises ringing around in our heads.

Then we were packing up again and getting ready to come home, thankfully on a slightly later flight, only a 7 O'clock start this time. So thanks to Ben, Catherine, Monty & Connie we had a fantastic time. We skied like the wind (often too fast for Mum or Dad to catch us), explored new places, which we'll definitely have to go to again, and just had one brilliant holiday - just a shame that Annalise & Harvey were not there to enjoy it as well. They'll just have to have a look at some of our pictures, along with the rest of our chums - enjoy.

We've just about finished the mindless job of unpacking, which I would have done ages ago, but I decided to write this instead - much more interesting. Anyway, another year, another ski holiday - back to School..........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Zoo-tastic

That's another week gone in a flash, it seemed really short, as we only went back to School on Wednesday (although Mummy had to go in a day early - something she did wrong?).

It was straight into our latest School project (that I mentioned last time), the golden age of cinema. And I did get to go as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz - complete with Blue dress, Red shoes, and a wicker basket with a Dog in (not a real one of course).

Other than that Alf was really excited as his soccer stars (Elite) started up again, and him & Jo had a great time - both scoring some goals.

Talking of goals, or should I say, no goals. That's what we saw from Norwich on Saturday, when they lost against Leyton Orient (who are in Division One!!!!! Alf's lucky green hat has finally failed to see a Norwich win - not bad though as up to then we'd seen about TEN games and Norwich had won them all. They were rubbish - even Grant Holt, who only played part of the match couldn't score, and Leyton Orient had one chance and scored - so that's the end of that, for the FA cup anyway. Still, it could have been worse, we could have been Ipswich supporters (like Uncle Ben), and seen them get rid of their manager, then get beaten 7-0 by Chelsea, and then they have got to play Arsenal - maybe that'll be double figures!!!!! Something to talk to Ben about when we see him at the chalet.

We both had fun on Sunday. Alf went skiing with Dad, who tried out Kerry's skis (yup, the ones he broke his leg on last year, and is going to take them skiing) - O.M.G!!!!!!! Alf tried a pair of my old skies and really got on well with them, so we are all set..... equipment wise - packing and getting things together, that's something else.

While Alf was having his fun, I went to Colchester Zoo, with my friend, Anna, ass it was her birthday, and it was brilliant. Wow, the animals were amazing, Elephants, Lions, Tigers, Giraffe, Monkeys (of all shapes & sizes), and the most massive fish tank I've ever seen, it is so big you walk through it, in a tunnel, and the seal lions swim all around - so cool.

I took quite a few pictures, so I'll pick a few of the best ones so you can have a look for yourselves.

Gotta go, as we really need to start getting a few things together for our skiing holiday, as its less than a week away... excited? just a bit!

End of the Noughties!

Whoosh, and it was gone. Was it really Christmas just over a week ago (it seems ages all ready) - oh yes, it does......

Sorry, we've still got that going round in our heads after going to the Panto (Snow White and the Seven Dwarves) with Nanna last week. It was really good, especially the bit where they sprayed water into the audience (luckily we were near the back so we stayed dry!). The good characters were very good, and the bad ones proper bad - just the way we like it! - thanks Nanna for taking us.

Than before we knew it, it was New years Eve, and we went over to see Grandma & Grumps (and just managed to squeeze a final few mouthfuls of food into our soooooo full tummies - why do we always eat so much? We took the helicopter and it did some really amazing flying in the garden - looking very impressive just before it got dark, with its flashing lights.

We got home at about 8 o'clock and wanted to stay up until midnight to see the New Year in. Daddy was already showing signs of tiredness & went to bed at 10 o'clock (what an oldie!). We just made it.... by the time the fireworks started our eyes were very heavy and we must have been asleep by quarter past 12!

The next day we were very tired (not surprisingly) and we didn't do very much - I'm not sure that we even bothered to change out of our pyjamas all day (for the 2nd time in a week), before going back to bed in them.

On Sunday we had a lovely day with curly Megs, Steve & Dee, as went to see the Seals (again) as they'd not seen them. This time we went to a different part of the beach and there were loads of Seals (grown ups & babies) - there must have been over 30 on just the bit of beach we walked on. It was much busier with lots of other people also coming for a look, but the Seals really don't seem to care - they just roll over every once in a while & yawn a lot - easy life.

We spent the last proper day of our holiday taking down the Christmas decorations - it looks so bare in the house now & getting our stuff ready for School. I've got to dress up as a character from the Golden Age of Cinema & want to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

The great thing for us is that we've got less than 2 weeks at school until we have our next holiday, so bring on the snow!
